Fairly Quiet Tuesday
Mar. 8th, 2022 11:34 pmWell, except for the people across the street constantly turning around in our driveway and Dad getting pissed off at them because they've run over some of our plants in the process. . . *sigh* But nothing we can do about that until we get something to stop them coming in. In the meantime --
Work – From really busy yesterday to really quiet today! Only one credit card call at the very end of the day, and it was just a quick update – still left on time. Most of my day was spent either looking through anything that still needed updating and deciding what I could actually work on, and doing obituaries. And listening to my coworkers natter on because they will natter. *shrug* I guess I’ll take it, it’s just kind of mood whiplash.
To-Do List –
1. Get in a workout: Check – back on the bike, and with the other half of Jon of Many A True Nerd’s Superliminal episode! We did NOT actually finish the game, though – I thought we would, but after working his way through the museum of dice, then enduring the horrors of the “Blackout” level – which he did praise as one of the most genuinely unsettling horror levels he’d played in a while – THEN having to deal with the “everything multiplies” level and brute-forcing his way through the last one probably as inefficiently as possible (or maybe not, maybe knocking a bunch of differently-sized apples up a ledge by having them ricochet off you and then multiplying them until they knock themselves onto a button which opens the door to get out of the level IS the intended solution), Jon decided NOT to try and work his way through the giant cardboard house with its weird interior and instead just stay in the occasionally-glitchy relaxation room. XD Well, to be fair, this IS a very mind-breaky game – a little relaxation is probably needed! Next up, I think we’ll continue giving this week to Jon and get around to that VATS video I originally wanted to watch. Should be fun!
2. Keep editing Chapter 6 of “Londerland Bloodlines: Santa Monica’s Vale Of Tears”: Check – Alice and Tung have discussed more of the Camarilla, and what Therese hopes to gain by currying LaCroix’s favor. Which, mainly seems to be trading the Anarch “this person holds a domain” title for the Camarilla one. . .which is a bit odd. I guess the more orderly Camarilla would appeal more to Therese, but. . .well, there’s a reason I decided to go with “she eventually wants to become Prince of all of L.A.” as her ultimate ambition. *shrug* Anyway, Alice has gotten a short crash course in the Camarilla – next up is a quick discussion of the Anarchs, and then we arrive at our mission! w00!
3. Keep up with YouTube Subs: Check – rather easy night, as I only had two Subs and nothing else particularly intriguing in my Recommendeds. O.o It was even a theme night, as you will see –
A) Started with Call Me Kevin and a look at Valve’s new mini-game – Aperture Desk Job! I have heard of this via the medium of the “#portal 2” tag on tumblr, but I hadn’t actually seen it in action, so this was an interesting one! As it turns out, it is a short game about inspecting toilets, then making toilet TURRETS. And then going on a rampage. I – won’t say more because it’s very short and very, VERY silly. XD But Kevin was clearly having a blast with it – tormenting the core of the hour, marveling over the mantis civilization growing in the floorboards, and just – having a good time with toilet turrets! And discovering something very fun about how the game treats your name. . .you know, I think I’ll be picking this up this weekend – it’s INTENDED as a tech demo for the Steam Deck (their new handheld console), but I believe it’s available on regular Steam too. . .
B) And then it was onto GrayStillPlays – who ALSO had a toilet theme today! Specifically, he was playing Toilet Time: Fun Mini Games, which is basically Wario Ware with a toilet theme. You have a selection of mini games, ranging from sorting people going to the toilet into men’s and women’s to bouncing a soap to keep it from falling on the shower floor, and you have to beat them to earn plungers to turn in for stuff like the Throne of Plungers and the Titanic First Class Toilet. Gray was – well, he was better at some things than others. Like he was a whiz at smashing flies or washing his hands, but counting the people running to the bathroom? Knowing which way to adjust the seat for the person getting ready to piss? Those were tricky. XD (Granted, he admitted that for the counting one, he was being hampered by the fact he had to do commentary as well, which, fair.) But eventually he sat down, pulled down his pants, and got a perfect run, yaaay. And we even got to enjoy a Floridaman Coffee Co plug from Not Bob Ross, which was nice. :p
4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Check – Wednesday’s Smiler Chill Save update and Thursday’s post on Ug-Qualtoth are loaded into the Victor Luvs Alice queue, and three ask replies are in the Valice Multiverse one. So that’s all sorted out nicely! And I also finally took a moment to go back through “#the smiler” tag and finally find those Smiler recolors of Sims 4 clothing for my game, yay. Been bugging me for a while, that one!
Well, if nothing else, I had a productive night -- good with the queues, good with the videos, good with the writing. We'll see what tomorrow brings -- right now they're saying snow, but it's not expected to stick to the roads. Fingers crossed! Night all!
