Reasonably Manic Monday

I invite you to draw your own conclusions via checking out my to-do list below:
Work – Busy Monday – the GL wasn’t too bad, but there were a lot of phone calls, and I was still working my way through all the exceptions and whatnot too. Just – something every minute to keep you occupied or stressed. Annoying, but what can you do?
Beanbags – A little chilly in the shade, but nice enough to play three rounds. We all won one too, yay – final scores were me W-3-3, Dad 2-W-2, Mom 3-2-W. :)
To-Do List –
1. Get in a workout: Check – another night on the bike (one of these days I will go on the treadmill again for variety), but not back with Oxventure just yet! Because there’s a Plumbella video I’ve been meaning to watch for a bit, so I decided during my workouts was as good a time as any. It’s an hour-long exploration of her life as an autistic person, done through the medium of a homemade PowerPoint presentation. Halfway in, and it’s been interesting stuff – explaining how it works for her, the early signs, her specific sensory issues, etc. I like learning a little more about some of my favorite YouTubers when they’re willing to share, especially about stuff like this.
2. Free Writing Day: Check – giving myself another day or two to work on random stuff before diving into my upcoming projects in earnest. And I did want to work some more on that scene with Victor, Alice, and Smiler that I’d started before, with their first in-person hypnosis session. It’s from Victor’s POV, so it’s mainly him just getting his brain melted by a nice trance, but there’s a few hints that the other two are having some awkward revelations right about now (namely, Alice realizing “oh geez, I think this is hot too, what the hell, thought I was asexual” as she watches Smiler put Victor under, and Smiler realizing “oh – oh okay, what I feel for him is WAY more than just friendship” after Alice calls Victor “darling” and they realize they want to call him that too). It’s just a nice private scene with my new favorite weird OT3 – “comfort food” in between main courses, let’s say. :P
3. Keep up with YouTube Subs: Check – another easy “only Gray posted” day, so I supplemented it with some extra stuff –
A) Started with a video that’s popped up in my Recommendeds a few times – “Alton Towers maps 1980-2020,” by Theme Park Crazy Worldwide! It’s exactly what it says on the tin – a montage of all the maps of Alton Towers, from the park’s opening to 2020 Scarefest, forty years later. Interesting to see how the style of the map evolved and grew as the park grew bigger and started adding all its most iconic rides. Good stuff!
B) Then it was time for the latest OXBox list: “6 Secret Things Cut From Elden Ring They Didn't Want You to See!” Andy has been on the hunt for people looking up cut Elden Ring content, and with the help of the wider YouTube community, has discovered some interesting stuff! Like an entire cut quest about gathering the dreams of enemies and making potions to get people to tell you their secrets, which – sounds awesome? Also Torrent the steed having an existence outside of being a player summon, complete with a kick? And coliseums dotted across the map with stadium seating and proper arenas and everything, just sitting around inaccessible! Though maybe that’s for the best, as people have already weaponized a cut underwear armor piece to get others shadow-banned from online play. ...Watch the video, it’s literally the first thing on the list. (Oh, also, apparently this game has its own version of the Puppet Hand Spiders I made up for “Fixing You.” I dislike this convergent evolution.)
C) And finally we had GrayStillPlays and Ragdoll Fall, a game all about falling from high things and smashing into as many objects on the way down as possible to break bones and gain high scores. As you might imagine, Gray liked this game a lot. XD Most of it was playing as the world’s unluckiest construction worker falling off in-progress buildings and hitting every crane, crate, and random explosive barrel on the way down to the ground, though Gray did get to spend a level as Spider-Man, toppling off a skyscraper and breaking literally every bone in his body. XD And then there was the level falling down the Eiffel Tower, now covered in random advertising. . .and the level where you plunge out the back of a PLANE and have to smack yourself against spare engine turbines and people’s luggage. Gray alternated between being a master at dragging his guy into danger and somehow missing every big thing on the board. XD Ah, we love the sound of crunching bones in the evening. . .
4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Check – got the Thursday post officially announcing Chapter 6 of “Londerland Bloodlines: Santa Monica’s Vale of Tears” into my drafts for Victor Luvs Alice later this week. :) Between that, some of the stuff I picked up over the weekend, and the Song Saturday post I ended up replacing, I think I’m good for the week on that blog!
So that's all good, at least. We'll see how the week progresses from here -- night all!
