Worn Out Friday

crossover_chickI mean, you know what sort of week it's been from my posts, so you can probably guess the cause of the worn out. But for completeness's sake. . .
Work – Ugh – there were arguably FEWER phone calls, but I got two long ones – one right before lunch that necessitated an e-mail afterwards, and one pretty close to closing – that just. . .trying to figure out why their shit happened the way it did was DRAINING. And that was on top of catching up with exceptions, taking some other phone calls, juggling requests from the director. . . I am so glad it’s the weekend. *sigh* Not so glad it’s a cleaning Saturday tomorrow, but what can you do.
To-Do List –
1. Get in a workout: Check – as it was the Friday after finishing an Oxventure, I opted to watch some random stuff before starting the next stream. Finished off some B. Dylan Hollis TikTok compilations (more ridiculousness about his terrible old cars, more horrible recipes (and occasional good ones), and some jazz), and watched the very beginning of a Sims 4 mods video on Cepzid/Harkbar’s fanmade “arcade” pack because I wanted to see the objects in action. They – genuinely look quite nice! There’s a lot of cool stuff included, like a claw machine, pinball, skee-ball – even slots if you want your adult Sims to have a casino experience. Better yet, apparently these (along with their “Sims 3 Romantic Interactions” mod) have been cleared for the latest patch. . .hmmm. . .
2. Continue writing “Londerland Bloodlines: Downtown Queensland”: Check – we are back to the bits where I’m watching LPs so I can get the dialogue right, with Alice being threatened by a trio of Sabbat before Nines shows up and saves her. I mean, in MY version of the scene, one of those Sabbat is Ed Sheeran’s vampire character from the “Bad Habits” music video, but he’s replacing the one who says the least, so. . . XD Alice asking him if he was wearing glitter and then snarking on how his pink suit doesn’t exactly inspire terror was probably my favorite bit to write, not gonna lie. XD
3. Keep up with YouTube Subs: Check – full dance card of four tonight!
A) Started with this week’s Fun With Shorts – “Taka!” What is that, you ask? Why, the name of Tonto’s eagle in the Lone Ranger cartoons! Who got one all to himself this week, flying off to visit his mate and chicks before leading the animals in the valley he lives in to really fuck up some visiting hunters (including a rare “bad” Native American and a stereotypical English Great White Hunter). Your typical “so bad it’s good” fare with some delightful riffs from Josh – just the thing for a Friday night! XD
B) Then it was onto James Turner for a Sims 4 building challenge – “Tiny Cottage Home in The Sims 4!” Yes, James designed a micro-cottage-home on the little lot in Henford-On-Bagley’s Finchwick neighborhood – two stories and 32 tiles (with a few little cheats to allow him to do things like add a ladder in a good spot, or make a more interesting entranceway). The house was absolutely COVERED in vines and brambles and wisteria, and had a kitchen, dining table with room for two Sims, tiny living room, extra-tiny bathroom, and second-floor bedroom. Plus a chicken coop and some garden plots outside. Very nice if you want a miniature home with all the skill boosts plus the fun rural feel of Cottage Living. James said that he might use it himself for a scenario playthrough or two – I suggested “Plant-A-Sim” in the comments. Felt appropriate!
C) From there we moved onto Call Me Kevin and “I went too far in Switch Sports and lost all my friends!” Yes, today we had Kevin – in brightly-colored 80s-style workout gear, no less – playing the new Switch Sports game with his friends Dan, Daithi, and Nuglo! This included such games as volleyball (Kevin could not spike the ball to save his life), soccer (the ball was as big as the players and getting it into the goal was – a challenge), badminton (Kevin subscribed to the WAVE THE CONTROLLER AROUND AS WILDLY AS POSSIBLE school of play), tennis (Kevin could not serve to save his life), chambara (fake sword fighting – here Kevin did pretty well with “casting spells” and whatnot), and bowling (KEVIN FUCKING DOMINATED THIS. Seriously, nobody could BELIEVE he was as good as he was. He won two games in a row, and came in second in the third (to someone named Rachel – think it might have been a bot, but not sure)). All with his friends yelling at him for being weird and/or being strangely good at virtual bowling. XD Good times!
D) And finally, we had GrayStillPlays and “I made sports 1000x more difficult” – aka, time to play goofy mobile game Football Life! Where you play as a man who tries out for a football team and must live the football life. This includes making a touchdown against a whole army of opposing players; picking your cheerleader girlfriend (Gray went for the one who had a SLIGHTLY better “evil” score); passing the ball in ways that defies physics; taking a selfie with fans and making sure to shove them all behind your own face; giving painfully awkward interviews; kicking the occasional field goal; signing with teams with names like the “Mans,” “Goats,” and “Reapers;” breaking your leg; playing virtual football while recovering (and showing where most of the game budget went); and notably pouring energy drink all over a cheerleader’s face for a photo shoot. XD Also, this game contains one of the best horrible pick-up lines in existence – “Your body is 65% water and I’m thirsty.” Gray cracked up and then said he was going to 100% say that to his wife. XD Mrs. StillPlays, I’m so sorry you have to put up with him. XD
4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Check – slapped a few fandom reblogs into Valice Multiverse since there were no asks or threads and called it a night, basically. Don’t really have the energy for more!
And that's been my evening, apart from the current round of social stuff. And, of course, that leads into the to-dos for Saturday:
1. Clean my room
2. Keep up with YouTube Subs and maybe the latest OXBox Hitman 3 stream
3. Play Sims 4 and either continue Smiler's university adventures or build an arcade
4. Write a birthday gift fic due for my friend Squid
I think that's all doable tomorrow -- except maybe the stream, but that IS an hour and a half long. We'll see if I can get to it or not! In the meantime, night all!
