As should be very evident from my to-do list:

Work – The quietest of the quiet week! No phone calls, barely any mail, a GL that was only a touch complicated, and I finally managed to file away some exception batches that have been sitting around since forever. It’ll more than do!

Beanbags – A lovely day throughout today, so yeah, going outside to play was inevitable. And I had a really good day, while poor Mom had a bad one – things were really tight in the last two games, but she just couldn’t get her aim right. Final scores were me 2-W-W; Dad W-2-2; Mom 3-3-3. Better luck tomorrow, Mom!

To-Do List

1. Get in a workout: Check – back on the bike tonight, this time with the first half of the livestream “first look” at The Sims 4: Werewolves upcoming game pack! I don’t usually watch the Guru livestreams directly – I wait until someone’s complied a “best bits” video to give me all the important deets – but as I was working out, I figured I might as well get it direct from the source! There were some technical issues with the stream itself early on (mainly sound-related), but I did learn a fair bit from the half-hour I watched. Like there’s a bunch of new clothes in CAS, some in the “dark academia” style, while others are rough and ready to rumble. There’s also a ton of new facial scars, and a whole new body scars category! So that’s interesting. . . The new world is the standard “five lots for an occult game pack” deal, though it looks like there’s plenty to do in-between lots, at least – and there’s a whole hidden tunnel system your Sims can explore via the medium of text adventure. There’s also a lunar cycle, of course – but imagine my surprise when they said that the moon phases were coming to base game in the preceding patch, and would affect all Sims – including the other occults – in interesting ways. That’s something to look forward to! We also finally met the elusive “Greg” that the Gurus have been talking about on Twitter, who is a big angry werewolf who lives on the outskirts of town – you can try to communicate with him, but it’ll be tough! Also there’s apparently lots of lore, especially regarding werewolves and vampires, and – well, it all just looks very interesting. And the pack as displayed seems to actually be working, instead of already hinting at being a glitchy mess like My Wedding Stories. . .I must continue to reserve judgment until it’s out in the world, of course, but for now? I think I’ve finally found a use for the Amazon gift card my boss gave me for Christmas last year. :)

2. Continue writing “Londerland Bloodlines: Downtown Queensland”: Check – Alice has finished her conversation with Chunk (finally learning his name – and being deeply amused at the existence of Dwayne LaCroix in the same building as Prince Sebastian XD) and is headed up to see LaCroix! Scene actually went pretty fast – those where I can just watch the LP and not go hunting down other chunks of dialogue to stitch together into the scene I’m trying to write generally do. We’ll see how well the actual meeting with LaCroix goes!

3. Keep up with YouTube Subs: Check – three in, three out –

A) Started with the latest from James Turner – “I used AI to build a house in The Sims 4!” Yes, someone on his sub-reddit suggested using the “DALL-E Mini” AI, which can generate images based on text you give it, to design a house! James was all for this and plugged a number of suggestions into it – “the sims 4 modern tiny house,” “the sims 4 modern interior,” stuff like that, and then went through the strange gauzy dream-like images to decide what he wanted to try and recreate! He ended up with a boxy two-story small home, with a front door that led straight into the kitchen (complete with an island counter), a living room where the fireplace was at a perpendicular angle to the couch and the giant coffee table, a bedroom with some very bright fancy lights, and a bathroom where everything except the sink was on a platform on dark brown tiles and wood. And also there were plants everywhere because the AI kept putting green in every room. XD It actually turned out pretty decently, though James doesn’t know if it’s actually playable, even with some of the tweaks he made (like extending the bathroom out one, or putting the stairs in their own little corridor). I’d be interested to see him try this method of building again!

B) Then it was time for this week’s Fun With Shorts, “The Story of Time!” Which is a no-dialogue fever-dream short showing off various weird timepieces and a variety of baffling stop-motion animation that somehow is supposed to make you want to buy Rolex. O.o On the plus side, Josh had some KILLER riffs in this one, starting with a joke about the opening looking like a “patchouli stink shop in Mystic, CT” that probably made me laugh harder than I should have. XD (As someone who has been to Mystic, CT and its village before – yeah, accurate.) Surprised a “Dali melting clocks” joke was never made, but eh. Not unhappy with what we got!

C) And finally we had GrayStillPlays with Big Makeover – aka “i offered plastic surgeries for $1!” Yes, some terrible mobile game let Gray be in charge of giving people various cosmetic surgeries. Not a minute in and he’d already completely overplumped some lady’s lower lip and yanked her nose halfway to space with a pair of pliers. XD And the hits just kept on coming – shaving “death” and “kill” into people’s eyebrows, giving them mustaches made of false eyelashes, drilling off half their faces with a pink-and-purple drill with a heart-shaped bit and rainbow patterns. Yes, actual thing you can buy in the game if you power through enough of the minigames! And we all know about Gray and determination, right? XD Another delightful goof-fest from one of my favorite YouTubers!

4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Check – took a moment first on Victor Luvs Alice to finally finish the text on my Song Saturday post for Harry Styles’s “Late Night Talking,” then did my two ask replies over on Valice Multiverse. All set for the weekend now!

Not too shabby! Nice not to end a day feeling completely and utterly stressed out, that's for sure. And I am SOO hopeful that the damn Werewolves pack is good and I can have some fun times with that in the Chill Save. . .as it stands, though, I have different to-dos for tomorrow:

1. Clean my room and shave my underarms and legs

2. Keep up with YouTube Subs, get Plumbella out of the Watch Later

3. Play Sims 4 and finish off Smiler's second semester of university

4. Write the first draft of Gigs's gift fic

Specifically added the "shaving" bit as I keep forgetting to do it -- heat's coming on, time to get rid of the fur! And yes, I'd like to have Smiler complete their second term before things have to go on pause for the next patch. Good thing I'm a good few updates ahead of posting so I have a bit of a buffer!

Right now, though, I'm trying to keep up with the social thing, and I do have a message on here to answer, so I'll be off. Night all!
