crossover_chick: Alice (Wonderland) looking kind of confused (AMA: WTFery?)

Who would have thunk it. . . Anyway, while it was an incredibly wet Monday, I can't really complain about how it went down:

Work – Reasonably busy day? There was the GL; a handful of calls about credit card updates; researching someone’s pledge for the supervisors; and more spreadsheet nonsense. Also explaining some reversals I did to Fiscal because no matter how clear I try to make it in the e-mail, it just doesn’t click until I verbally stumble through it. *sigh* But it got me through the day, and tomorrow I can spend some time working on more credit card nonsense. Three more days!

Beanbags – Noope, not today – rained pretty much all day! Lighter here, heavier there, but it was wet and woolly. Though we were spared any THUNDERSTORMS, which was my main concern for the evening, so – yeah, take that!

To-Do List

1. Get in a workout: Check – back on the bike, but not back with Oxventure just yet. Tonight was a break night from my favorite chaos troupe, instead focusing on a handful of Sims 4 videos:

I. Some speculation from Simmer Erin about the possibility of improved romantic (and other) relationships and maybe even the addition of an attraction system in Sims 4, based on the old survey from 2020 that suggested they could improve on those areas and a recent job posting that focused a lot on imagining and designing scenes of couples and families interacting – I’m not holding my breath, the mod community’s got this covered nicely, but it would be a nice addition to the game!

II. A handful of mods that help out with werewolves from ligayatrait – featuring such things as a mod to make them stand still in CAS (they howl a LOT when you’re designing them); another, less dramatic take on wolf feet for them than Spinning Plumbob’s (it just affects the feet instead of changing up most of the leg); some toddler quirks (for all occults, actually, but we were focusing on the werewolves here); and an updated “Fated Mates” system that can lower your chances of finding your mate but spread it out across humans and other occults (I’ve seen this on Mod The Sims; there’s a few different varieties for your pleasure). Interesting stuff!

III. And, to come back to my original occult love in the Sims 4, a quick video on different types of vampires you could make from Petey Plays It, from open Grand Master vampires to good vampires just trying to blend in, from royal vampire families to dumpster-diving vampires down on their luck. Good for anyone who needs an idea on how to start their vampire story!

2. Continue writing “Londerland Bloodlines: Downtown Queensland”: Check – Alice has made it to the Elizabeth Dane, and has rendezvoused with Officer Heinz! Yes, she’s not the reporter he was meant to meet, but she’s never one to pass up an opportunity to make things easier for herself. XD And now she just has to make her way invisibly to the security room, which – when you’re a Malkavian – is pretty damn easy. There’s a reason Alice likes Obfuscate so much!

3. Keep up with YouTube Subs: Two-thirds check – had a long one in the Subs today, so I could only get to two out of the three. But I’m hopeful I can catch up tomorrow. As it stands –

A) Firstly, we had the next episode of “Rage To Riches” from James Turner! Quite a lot happened in this episode, including:

I. James fixing Angus’s werewolf look (apparently the game doesn’t properly save werewolf-form changes if your Sim is IN werewolf form when you do the updates) and adjusting Nina’s so that her fur more closely matches her hair (it’s not electric red, but it’s definitely redder now)

II. The siblings experiencing their first proper full moon and going on a full-on rampage at the bar. Angus was naughty, scratching up some furniture and getting into a (very glitchy) Supernatural Smackdown with a vampire (threatening his friendship with the Moonwood Collective, causing James to send him elsewhere for the night – he ended up getting into a fight with Greg off-screen); Nina was downright a monster, snarling at everyone and ferociously intimidating money out of loads of people (including her own relatives! Her DAD was at the bar for Aliens Night and got snarled at!). I mean, it worked, and she got a whole bunch of cash from the various humans and supernaturals, but still. Nina is definitely leaning into the nastier parts of werewolf life, that’s for sure. She also got the ability to devour objects from leveling up her werewolf abilities and ate a bunch of stuff at the bar (including lots of seating and lighting) – and then traveled back to the family farm to eat one of their chickens. Because chickens are technically objects, according to the game. Wonder if that counts with cows, llamas. . .babies. . . (Hey, if there was ever a way to convince the Sims team to stop making them mere objects. . .)

III. The siblings progressing past the “Initiate” werewolf aspiration and unlocking the others via some thorough study at the library – Nina has naturally chosen to pursue the Wildfangs-based aspiration, while Angus chose the Moonwood Collective-based one. This, of course, required him to actually JOIN the pack – fortunately his full-moon rampage hadn’t completely tanked his status with them, and by telling Kristopher about his Lunar Epiphany, having a spar with him, and giving him a cool frog that Nina found on her explorations underground, Angus was allowed in! So now he’s officially a hippie werewolf, nice. XD

IV. JAMES YOU WON’T FIND ANY NEW EXITS OUT OF THE UNDERGROUND TUNNELS UNLESS YOU PICK DIFFERENT OPTIONS – er, Nina exploring the underground tunnels from the portal-potties multiple times as James tried to find a link to one of the other entrances/exits so he could have her basically “fast travel” around the world a bit more readily. He didn’t seem to get that if he kept choosing the “navigate the debris” option over the “find the fresh air” one, he was gonna keep coming out at the same spot. Nina did at least find a lot of cool stuff (including cross-pack stuff, like spellcaster tomes and vampire books) in the tunnels, and at the VERY end of the episode, finally unlocked a passage to the sewer grate. So that’s something! Slowly but surely she’s getting her exploration up.

So yeah, they’re definitely keeping busy! Next time, James is thinking of building them a little base – we’ll see when that is!

B) And secondly, it was over to Call Me Kevin for more of being a good, if sometimes criminally inclined, student in Bully! Today’s adventures for our favorite version of Jimmy included trading out his pumpkin head and muscle shirt for an Einstein mask and a green tweed nerd outfit; failing repeatedly to draw his teacher in a sexy pose, necessitating Kevin reload at least five times to properly complete the minigame; having a surprisingly-good game of dodgeball in gym class; going to the carnival and dunking a man into the dunk tank over and over to get tickets to buy a scooter – oh, and nailing the ball toss guy in the groin multiple times, because he could; passing out at the carnival and getting robbed; trying to do another boxing club mission with the preps but being refused because he didn’t have the right sweater; attempting to do food delivery jobs in a ridiculous fry hat for cash to buy the sweater he needed and failing the last one because he couldn’t get into the gated community; trading for a paper route and smacking both people and dogs with papers (while still in the fry hat, of course); finally letting his girlfriend make out with him so he could get some money from someone else for having gotten her out of the movie line (still in the fry hat, of course); and finally going on a mission with the preps to egg a house, only to discover it was a set-up and having to flee (still in the fry hat, of course). Basically, this little series Kevin has started is summed up by one of his opening lines – Jimmy is a good student, not a good citizen. XD But that’s why we love him!

4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: N/A, really, but I DID keep up on my dash and get through my tracked tags, so I will count that as a win! :)

I mean, at this point it feels slightly weird not to be super stressed out about stuff, but it's also NICE, so. . . I guess getting a bunch done yesterday with catching up on Subs and stuff must have helped. Also the sticky weather finally drying out -- supposed to be nice for a few days now! We can but hope. . .but now it's time to finish up here and head to bed. Hopefully get some better sleep tonight. . .night all!
