Thursday Thoughts

Talk about your favorite comic book heroes. It doesn't have to directly relate to comic books.
Well, my area of expertise for comic books is Marvel -- specifically, what I know of the X-Men and Spider-Man, so:
Kurt "Nightcrawler" Wagner: Kurt ROCKS. I loved him in X-2, and I like his more "fuzzy" form in the comics too. He's very cute either way. And the teleportation is very cool. :) I admire his bravery, wittiness, and his fighting skills. Although I'm not deeply religious myself, I also respect his faith. Having met him through X-2, I'm all for Storm/Nightcrawler.
Ororo "Storm" Munroe: Similarly, I like Storm. I actually liked Halle's portrayal of her in the X-Men movies -- she's a strong, dynamic character. Plus her power to control the weather would come in handy so much of the time. . . . Once again, I'd like to see her hook up with Kurt -- from the comics I've seen where they're together, they seem to have some nice chemistry.
Peter "Spider-Man" Parker: Come on, he's Pete! I've got a soft spot for the guy simply because he helped introduce me to Marvel through the first Spider-Man movie. (Incidentally, he also started my BTTF comic collection -- I bought some Spidey from a man at a local market-dealy, and he gave me the BTTF comic for free. :D) I like how Tobey does Spidey, and I have to admit, I kinda want that wall-crawling power.
Eddie "Venom" Brock: I know, I know, heroes, but Venom has been called a "lethal protector." I like Venom simply because he looks so COOL. This is a guy that would make a special-effects man weep. I also like how's he's a bit like a very twisted Spidey at times. :) Venom is the Spider-Villian in "BTTX-2: Time of the Spider," although I've partially re-imagined his origins.
Dr. Otto "Doctor Octopus" Octavuis: Not Otto so much as those tentacles. As I was introduced to MovieOtto first, I like those tentacles the best. Super-useful and very cool looking. I hate to say it, but the comic ones look a little -- wimpy. Mostly because of the small pincers. *blush* I use the movieTentacles in "Eight Arms to Hold You."

As for Games, I played a little Sims this morning -- the Strangetown Browns. Tuesday was a fairly normal day for them -- everyone got up, I had Marty chat with his mom to get up his social, pancakes were served for breakfast, all of that. As I had Doc work on a Charisma point for his wants, I decided that George and Lorraine were in good enough moods to woo-hoo. Just because, I had them "Try for Baby." They woo-hooed happily -- and right afterward, I heard over the noise of their radio -- Rock a Bye Baby. Lorraine's pregnant! Lorriane napped while George regreened and Doc got his charisma point. Marty came home with another A+, funned on the guitar, and called his friend David to reconnect. Doc did the same with Josephine. George meditated before work while Lorraine drank some Elixer of Life -- he finally made it to "floating" mediation:

He came home and stargazed. No luck in abduction yet, although I'm still all-for that alien kid.
Wednesday, I kept a careful eye on Lorraine -- I hear pregnancy can be very tough on Sims. She made omlettes for breakfast, then cleaned the bathtub and threw up. Doc got up, ate, gave her a hug ("congrats on the baby!"), then headed for 121 Jigowatt to pick up groceries. He also got funned up with the dartboard while he was there -- since maxing out his mechanical skill, he's gotten quite good. Doc came home and invited Mystie over to satisfy a want to flirt with her. Lorraine became visibly pregnant as Mystie came:

And was put on maternity leave. I made sure she was in the green and had her nap. Doc and Mystie engaged in some flirtaous behavior. Marty came home, saw them, was inspired, and had Jennifer over for a similar purpose. I bit the bullet and bought a bass for them too -- both Doc and George wanted one, what the heck. George meditated again before heading to work -- he now has the teleport option as well. Much coolness, gotta get my other Sims to do that. I left Doc and Marty sleeping and Lorraine amusing herself with the bass. Next time I play that house, I'm going to have to do some remodeling for the new baby.
-M: Cool, I'm gonna get a new brother or sister.-
Yup. If its a girl, she'll be Elaine, if a boy, either Darth or Calvin. Depends if I can get George his alien baby anytime soon.
-VuM: *giggle*-
-VM: You should see if you can get TOP Emmett an alien kid.-
-VD2: Hey...-
*snork* Remind me to save for the good telescope.

In other game news, I have a new high score for "Jetpack Doc" -- 38196 points in 10 minutes, 27 seconds. I also found out something interesting -- there is apparently an end to the game!
-D: Pardon?-
I thought it just sorta went on forever, and you kept working at a higher and higher score. Nope. After I had defeated many Bill and Ted hoverboarders and a number of Dashes (green plasma-gun guy), Zaps (blue electro-gun guy) and Fooms (red fire-gun guy, my own name), I got a message saying I only had to defeat three more "bosses." I was startled, but managed to defeat them all -- and promptly ran into a hoverboarder and didn't get to see what was next. Darn.
-VD: Well, that's interesting. Something to work for when you play again.-
Yeah, really. Well, I should get writing, so later all.
