Work wasn't particularly exciting, as you will see, but the afternoon has been pretty full! Mostly with writing and YouTube, because I had some longish videos today. Here's what I managed to get accomplished --

Work – Everyone was back in today, so it was noisier than Friday (Christmas music back on, though it’s more tolerable after a three-day break), but other than that, not particularly exciting. GL, duplicates, another credit card issue being fixed – could have been worse! Now if only I could stop myself getting anxiously wound up over this being the last few days before FREEDOM. . .

To-Do List

1. Get in a workout: Check – back on the bike today, and back to the other half of James Turner’s High School Years LP Episode 16, featuring Reginald finishing university! He had a very productive last couple of days at university, including:

A) Helping to win the big game on Saturday, getting his final promotion to Playmaker in the soccer team and getting an MVP trophy as a result! James somehow resisted immediately selling it. XD

B) Spending Sunday doing debates and critiques at the thrift store for cash, making a new fashion look (Disco Dayz, baby, with a frog crop-top sweater and sparkly pants) for cash, and writing various research papers for cash. Gotta have some capital for when he starts his career after college! And to buy back his house, of course. This is also when James learned the power of a good reputation combined with high Charisma and the Incredibly Friendly trait – Reginald is not QUITE as good as Smiler at making instant friends, but he’s pretty damn close now! XD

C) Having his finals on Monday and participating in Fool’s Day between classes – going streaking, randomly greeting a couple of streakers with Enchanting Introductions and kissing them, fighting random people, giving a Fool’s Day gift of one of his old pennants from his dorm room (James was very careful to take back all his stuff from said room before he was kicked out after graduation), and playing juice pong. Had a great holiday and finished his term with solid A+s, giving him an A+ GPA for his entire university career! Only downside was he was immediately kicked out of the soccer team, which James found a little rude. XD

D) Having his graduation on Tuesday, along with all of his previous dormmates – including Sidney, who seemed awfully awkward around him. XD Brady Vatore was there too, though that was awkward in a different way. XD But yeah, Reginald had a great graduation, threw up his cap, and retired to his dorm to get his needs up one last time before James confirmed he had everything packed up and had him move back to his old home! Next episode shall see some home renovations and Reginald start his career in business – James wants to see how having graduated from high school with a high GPA, gotten a Distinguished Degree With Honors from university, AND having the “Connections” reward trait interact when it comes to getting a job. Will he literally start at level 10? I guess we’ll find out later!

2. Continue writing gift fics: Check – revised Moose’s today, which is a slight twist on the whole “George and Lorraine and ice skating” thing that she’s so fond of. :p Hopefully you enjoy it, Moose!

3. Keep up with YouTube Subs: Oooh, three-fourths check – I still didn’t get a chance to catch up on Kevin, mostly because OXmas was long today and writing up everything on here always takes longer than I think it will. But I’m still doing pretty good, and I only have two more work days to get through, so catching up WILL happen! In the meantime –

A) First up, as always is OXmas – “XMAS CHALLENGE DAY 10! Resident Evil Village Holiday Punch Challenge | Tournament of Champions 2022!” Today was Jane versus Mike in Resident Evil Village’s Mercenaries mode! The challenge? Play as Chris Redfield, using only his melee punch and stomp attacks to defeat enemies (well, except when the enemies can’t be REACHED to punch – there’s some archer enemies in stage three that CANNOT be accessed, so they bent the rules slightly and let Mike and Jane shoot them just to get past them), and see how far you get! Whoever gets the farthest wins, except if both challengers finish in the same stage, and then its whoever earned the most points. It was pretty neck and neck between the two as they punched their way through the village’s main courtyard, fort, and side houses, with Mike getting better power-ups and having a little more control over his punch as he went up against the crazed werewolf villagers, while Jane getting most of the time bonuses and putting her flailing fists to good use against the various murder muppets and drill men. But, while they both reached Stage 3 of the Village, only Jane managed to complete it – Mike ran out of time before he could reach the goal. It was really close, though, and if Jane (who was getting hurt a LOT in that level) had died before completion, Mike would have taken it by virtue of having a higher score. Jane managed to kite the final murder muppet and reach the golden win circle, though, and thus got her first Christmas point!

And, if I’m looking at the numbers right, her ONLY Christmas point, as she’s now participated in five challenges, while everyone else is at four (Mike, Andy, Ellen) or three (Luke). And given there’s only five more days, and everyone must compete in an equal number of challenges. . .I’m pretty sure her name can’t be pulled again. Ouch. Well, you did your best, Jane, and at least you got on the board! No big goose egg for Christmas. (Though the comments suggest my math may be wrong. . .look, all I know is Luke needs a couple more goes, we haven’t seen enough of the poor guy.)

B) Then it was over to the Subs for today’s Josh Way offering – “Josh Talks About Video Games On YouTube!” Basically this was Josh’s intro, “testing the waters” video for seeing if people want to hear his thoughts on video gaming, from the perspective of a forty-something dad who didn’t really play games up until 2019 (he had a Sony Playstation in college and has owned all iterations of the console since then, but he mainly used them to play MOVIES, not games), when he got a Nintendo Switch and found the wealth of games now available on handheld platforms. He now has a passion for games of all types and he just wants to share, damn it. XD I mean, I’m curious about the games he’s been playing, as he said he’s now knee-deep in games of all types, from first-party Nintendo titles to emulated ancient CRPGs, and since he has no “console allegiances. . .” It could be fun! We’ll see what happens when he returns to the subject!

C) And finally we had today’s GrayStillPlays – “Busting 3000 IQ Secrets in GTA 5!” Another set of challenge boards from good old Alex, this one based around GTA V secrets revealed in the comments. First one was “when you’re smacked into the air by a wind turbine blade, you can still shoot for a few seconds before going into proper free-fall – so make Gray snipe a person and shoot down a plane with a rocket launcher while he’s up there.” Gray did so, and hilariously shooting a person riding around on a dirt bike proved a bit easier than shooting down a slow-moving biplane with the rocket launcher. XD Then we had “you can make a dirt bike just straight up hover in place by pressing the right keys” and Gray having to use that to survive a platform run where the platforms disappeared from under him (and also people were shooting at him – took a few tries to get the timing right!); “you can do backflips when you pull your parachute with the right combo to gain a load of height and speed” and Gray using that to climb the Mays bank and then eventually land on a blimp (the hardest challenges as the force of his flips smashed him into the nearby buildings more than once, and getting the right angle to approach the blimp was TRICKY); “you can survive a fall from Landing Platform 17 on one of the skyscrapers as Franklin on a motorbike if you use his special time-slow ability” (by contrast, the easiest one – after a test run to see if it was possible to survive the fall without it (it wasn’t), Gray actually activated the slow-down at just the right moment and completed the challenge first try!); and finally “you can have a grenade you’re holding explode after you blow yourself up in the ‘Wasted’ screen” and Gray having to use that to blow up the plane trying to kill him (which involved quite a bit of careful reposition so the grenade blew up in the right spot while flying out of his ragdolling hand). Some good stuff, and interesting to see what kind of weirdness exists in GTA V! You know, that people don’t mash into the game with mods. XD

4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Check, though it was a PROCESS – I did NOT expect two posts on the Chill Save’s “Valicer House Updates” to take so long! Turns out it takes a while to describe all the little (and not-so-little) changes I made over those couple of building sessions. . . I managed to complete the first post just before my work, and I finished up the text on the SECOND post – well, just now, as I was balancing it with messaging a tumblr friend. *sigh* But they’re done, and ready to be queued up tomorrow evening for Wednesday. Hooray.

And now it's time to wrap things up and hit the sheets, as I do still have two more days to get through. With tomorrow being work gift exchange day, so I can finally get those out of my trunk. Hopefully tomorrow I can get some of the other messages I owe out -- in the meantime, good night!
