Happy New Year's Eve All!

crossover_chickAnd I am pleased to say that I got my to-do list done in my window! Cleaning took place from roughly 10:20 AM to 1:20 PM (it wasn't particularly dusty, but I was trying to be thorough, and I had to retrieve a Minimate Marty I knocked behind my bed at one point -- plus bring my sheets and stuff down to join the rest of the laundry; sheets are done, blankets and pajamas are currently in the dryer), then we had lunch, and then I got to work --
1. Finish Director's Commentary Superliminal: Check! Did this right after we’d finished lunch, and finished the last three levels in about an hour. Good times, even if I wish there’d been more spots with actual commentary to listen to – the talking chess pieces felt spread a little far apart! But I did get some interesting insights into the game – like how they did the infinite elevators (originally they weren’t infinite, there were just a lot of them, and it was killing the performance, so instead they used portals to warp you back to the same small block of elevators over and over), one of the guiding themes of the music (basically, the piano is always at the center of the various themes, no matter how dark and electronic it begins to sound – by the way, “Labyrinth” has some pretty fucking awesome music), and how they came up with the “Whitespace” level (one of the developers thinks he got subconscious inspiration from what happens when a VR game crashes). I also found one of the blueprint Easter Eggs for the first time, and even got a special commentary voice clip for it! :D I also found a top on top of one the unformed chess pieces in “Whitespace,” which I’m pretty sure is a reference to Inception (which would be very appropriate). One day (well, days), I’ll have to run through the game again for secrets-finding purposes. . .but for now, I’m happy to go back to my Sims 4 and Fallout 4 weekends. :)
2. Get the rough draft of Moose's birthday fic done: Check – I already had an idea in mind, fortunately, in keeping with the “George, Lorraine, and figure skating” theme, and it’s definitely one I haven’t done before. :) I hope you like it, Moose! (Oh, and thanks again for the one that you put up on tumblr today!)
3. Answer my friend Ace's FF.net PM: Check – got that sorted after doing Moose’s fic draft. :) All answered and good for – well, however long it takes them to reply. XD
w000! And, as you can see, I managed to get in a reblog of a belated birthday present. :) Everything else is gonna have to wait until the New Year, though, as marathon is imminent. *nods* I will see you all in 2023! Have a good night!
