Though admittedly the reason for the late tonight was a) talking to my friend Squid for a little bit longer because birthday (they liked their fic a lot too!) and b) answering Moose's messages so they didn't sit in my inbox forever (yay!). And I had a pretty productive evening overall, I must say --

Work – Not a very exciting day at work – it was mostly doing roster maintenance like obituaries, with a few credit card calls, a call from the credit card people with some questions (fortunately my supervisor was passing by and was able to talk to them with me), and a couple of last-minute gifts. I kept getting interrupted during my breaks, though, which wasn’t fun. And my drive home was rather nasty, though not as bad as it could have been – meaning I didn’t have to cut through the city. Lots of traffic, but at least I made it onto the highway! We’ll see if tomorrow is any better – at least lunch is provided this time!

And, yes, when I did make it home, we played beanbags – I had a really good first game (with a ten to both start and finish!) and managed to do well in the other two, while Dad struggled a bit and Mom didn’t find her rhythm until the final game. Final scores were me W-2-2; Dad 2-W-3; Mom 3-3-W – any day where we each win one is a good one!

To-Do List

1. Get in a workout: Check – another night on the bike, another night with Oxventure’s One-Shot Wonder “Dread!” With the trio having shot their shot with the flare gun (and hoping the plane had actually noted them and changed course to go for help), and with a pair of familiar wolfy eyes illuminated on the opposite bank by the red trail left by the flare itself, Madison quickly scratched a note that they were heading to the ranch into the sand, and she, Brad, and Killian piled back into the boat to take on the rapids, with Eric getting worse and worse as the trip continued. Brad was honestly all for just dumping the guy over the side at this point, but Killian was insistent that they had to at LEAST get him to the ranch so they could give him a proper burial, while Madison was a little too distracted by watching Eric to see if he’d turn into a werewolf to really give an opinion. Killian won out for the time being, and the gang turned their attention to the next obstacle – mainly, the rapids. Brad commandeered a flashlight and used it to light the way while Killian took front oar and Madison took back oar to steer (still keeping her hatchet close at hand just in case). Luke demanded a pull from each of them to make it through the rapids without capsizing, AND an additional pull for Eric. After a little debate about who got to go first (as Ellen/Madison was RIGHT into the Jenga tower), everyone pulled –

And everyone succeeded! So yes, they did make it through the rapids without flipping the boat as night began to turn to day. Unfortunately, while they didn’t capsize, they DID get caught between two rocks at some point, which tore a hole in the craft and left it rapidly deflating. Madison desperately steered them toward the gravelly shore, which Luke said required both a pull for her and a pull for Eric (since, you know, he’s in such a bad way). Madison successfully made her pull, but wasn’t about to risk pulling for Eric, so instead Andy/Killian stepped in –

CRASH! Tower toppled! With the result being that Madison and Brad promptly abandoned ship and made for the rocky shore – but Killian hesitated a BIT too long in trying to decide if he wanted to save Eric or not, and ended up being dragged into the current when he tried to pull the guy to safety. Brad and Madison had to watch as he was smashed against a rock, snapping his neck – and then a big furry claw reached around and dragged him away. Eeep. O.O

Well – with THAT sorted, Andy left the table, and the Jenga tower was rebuilt, with Mike and Ellen removing three blocks at Luke’s request to represent the loss of a teammate (he assured them that if they knocked over the tower at THIS point, nothing would happen). He also warned them that, given they were now exhausted, cold, starving, and terrifying, everything outside of their specific “wheelhouse” was going to take more pulls. . . Fortunately, the pair WERE able to recover the flare gun (sodden, but it MIGHT still work) and the hatchet (Madison’s favorite thing). Not wanting to just stay there, the two decided to proceed on-foot, as close to the river as possible without having to risk any fancy footwork on the slippery or steep parts of the bank. This DID mean having to trek into the dark forest, though – a place with limited moonlight and what felt like unlimited wolf howls. Madison managed to use a chunk of t-shirt, a stick, some moss she found on a sheltered tree, and a flint against the blade of her hatchet to make a small torch (Luke allowing this because, slasher horror, the woman getting her clothes all torn up is a time-honored tradition XD), and she and Brad discussed what to do (after Brad managed to successfully pull to AVOID twisting his ankle). Brad was all for making a stand against the werewolves – preferably from a tree, with Madison attaching her hatchet to whatever the forest equivalent of string was so she could throw it at the wolves and then retrieve it. Madison wasn’t keen on THAT plan, but was all for standing against the monsters, and so (with more successful pulls – I get the feeling Ellen is REALLY good at Jenga), found them a clearing that they could work with. Her INITIAL plan was to create a big ring of fire around it, but after Luke warned that finding enough tinder would involve a LOT of pulls, she decided to scale down to just one fire in the middle. We’re almost at the end of this horror story, folks – we’ll see who lives and who dies tomorrow!

2. Continue writing “Londerland Bloodlines: Downtown Queensland”: Check – and I more than made up for my shorter-than-usual session last time with over a page to finish off Chapter – *checks* – Four! Yes, just Chapter Four – the chapters in these stories be LONG AS SHIT, yo. :p But Alice safely made it home, got a chance to take a shower, and met up with Victor when he came back, confirming that they’re both clean. :) I left them having a quiet moment in front of the TV, trying to find either the Bio-Bots or OfficeBots shows. Alice deserves the break! Especially since she’s on the verge of having an even WORSE night tomorrow. . .

3. Keep up with YouTube Subs: Check – fortunately an easy two-in, two-out day –

A) Started with the latest from Josh Way – “SKETCHY: Pluto!” Josh drawing Mickey’s famous pet dog, his wife’s favorite moment of what Josh chose to call the Sensational Six because he didn’t want to kick Daisy out of the line-up XD (the others being, of course, Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, and Donald). It took him a while to get this one right, as he was coming out of a low-productivity slump when he did it, but he was very pleased with the end result, and I was too. :)

B) And secondly, we had the latest from GrayStillPlays – “When you charge $99999 for twitter blue,” aka Gray plays more Happy Wheels! And there were some exquisitely painful boards today. . . Gray of course started with the usual absolutely bonkers bottle flip (featuring an area called 97.6% Impossible and a shoutout “cup” surrounded by spinning blades – Gray managed to land a bottle both in the cup briefly and on the BLADES briefly), then progressed through “Rope Swing One” (a surprisingly difficult rope swing with a thumbnail hole through a bunch of spikes that led to a pair of rope transfers before the win), Segway Guy getting launched into space (he burst into giblets on the moon and that counted as a win XD), an impossible ball fall (where keeping to the left would get you slotted into the blow-up cup, meaning you had to keep to the RIGHT in order to win – Gray finally got there when he managed to keep his damn arms to control his fall), a “don’t move” board where his character sacrificed a leg to kick an awesome goal (Gray considered this a fair trade), a trip to Satan’s bedroom (aka one of those “pogo guy has to bounce past all the hazards and onto the win – SOMEHOW Gray managed to avoid EVERYTHING coming at him on the first jump and made the win on the second jump despite the win being COVERED IN MINES), a harpoon survival box (Gray took one harpoon to the genitals but managed to win without much other pain), and “Twitter Takeover” (the Dylan Snider board of the episode, featuring Bike Dad and Tom Hardy invading Twitter to steal a golden checkmark and then drop a cyber truck on what I presume was supposed to be Elon Musk’s head. Featured a Tesla with a crossbow, freeze-wall analytics, a Twitter Bird with a crossbow, violent blue checkmarks, and an army of Splatoon squid with various weapons. Gray only got through by abandoning his bike on the final floor and crawling to victory). Good stuff, with Gray pretending to cry near the end like he was playing an Alex Torture Board. XD Wonder what would happen if Alex and Dylan combined their powers. . .

4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Check on both blogs –

Victor Luvs Alice – FINALLY got through the remaining Chill Valicer Save update posts for this week! Finished up the half-completed one from last night this morning, did another post in between writing and YouTube, and completed the last one after doing the write-up on Gray above. w000! Threw all of those into the queue, along with some VTMB and FO4 reblogs I had sitting in my drafts and reset the queue speed to seven so all the Chill Valicer Save stuff would post tomorrow. Glad to have that sorted! (And I managed to keep up on “the smiler,” “alice madness returns,” and “corpse bride” tags, so that’s good too.)

Valice Multiverse – Nothing happening over there, so after a quick poke around my tracked tags THERE, I ended up slotting one of my old Not-Incorrect Valicer Quote collections in the queue. *shrug* If I was willing to reblog the actually-Incorrect ones. . .

Whew! At least I'm pretty much all caught up on stuff now. . .and now it is time to go to bed so I can see what tomorrow brings. Night all!
