All Right Friday

crossover_chickI was worried about a shitty end to the week, but it was actually pretty decent (even if I didn't win at Parcheesi -- that game is tough, man!):
Work – Fairly reasonable end to the week, honestly! Both my coworkers were out today with medical stuff, so it was just me – fortunately, the phone rang twice, and one of those times wasn’t even for our office. I did the GL, researched the gift thing I found yesterday (looks like something happened that made our processors think it didn’t go through when it had?), put on a bunch of checks, and that was about it! *shrug* Even got out slightly early thanks to wrapping up in good time. Not bad at all! No beanbags today when I got home, though – a threat of thunderstorms kept us all inside. And tomorrow’s supposed to be rainy and cool. . .we’ll see if we can play on Father’s Day!
To-Do List –
1. Get in a workout: Check – last night on the bike for the week, getting through “She came to school! High School Years (Part 35),” aka the next episode of James Turner’s High School Years Rags To Riches Generational Epic! James was hoping to get Addison to sneak out to a party and go to their very first prom with Hilary before the end of the episode, though neither ended up happening. We did, however, get the following –
A) James showing off the nice new house build for the Prices and the completed Column Bigwallet house build by having Reginald visit both places to chat with Sydney (his eternal crush) and Column (his mother) respectively – both houses look really nice, I must say! Though the Price house looked nicer before James discovered Reginald could Copypasto the bushes outside. XD
B) James struggling to get Kevin to knit more “excellent” items for his Lord of the Knits aspiration – apparently, knitting something that is ABOVE that in quality doesn’t count in this particular one! And as James discovered by bouncing between various items, it’s very hard to hit the “sweet spot” of “item that will probably turn out excellent” when it comes to knitting. . .
C) That creepy Erratic teacher showing up randomly at the Bigwallet house (probably because Reginald insta-friended him), and Kevin taking the opportunity to befriend him and then convince him to follow his “dream career” to get him out of the teaching job at the school. It hasn’t worked yet – the creepy weirdo is still in charge of Class 2 – but we’ll see where it goes!
D) Related, the game being very funny by waiting until James was bemoaning his inability to get Hilary and Addison at the school at the same time to put Hilary and Addison in the school at the same time. XD The school day itself was middling (poor Addison attended while exhausted, and thus had to nap in the nurse’s office between classes – appropriate, because they WERE also sick at the time), but Addison passed their exams and had a nice night out at the pier with Hilary afterward, going through the haunted house and riding the Ferris wheel (James commenting that it would have been better if they’d done the rides so you could properly see your Sims riding them, like all the way back in Makin’ Magic. With you, James!).
E) And Brianne managing to make best friends forever with Forrest Price by inviting him over and basically forcing him to play with her all night. XD The idea is that Brianne will age up once she’s completed her Social Butterfly aspiration, and Addison their Live Fast aspiration. So we’ll see how long that takes, though it can’t be THAT long – the series is 50 episodes, we’re on episode 35, and I’m pretty sure the last ten or so focus on Brianne running a photography studio (because Addison spins off into the “Dine Out Reloaded” LP). We’re accelerating toward the end here, is what I’m saying! But that’s all right, since after this I do need to move onto the Growing Together LP, in-progress. . .
2. Do the second draft of Nebby’s gift fic: Check – cleaned up the story of Dan from MediEvil telling everyone in the Ball & Socket about his most chaotic promotion ceremony (including drunk kings, elephant dragons, and sky pirates wrecking the joint), backed up by his friend Canny Tim and heckled by fellow hero Woden, all while Kiya laughed her head off. XD I think it’s come together pretty nicely, and hopefully Nebby will appreciate it when I post it on the 22nd!
3. Keep up with YouTube Subs: Check – just GrayStillPlays today, with “Upgrading to world ending cannon in Awesome Pirates,” aka Gray plays Awesome Pirates! Though the name is a little misleading – it’s not a game about being an awesome pirate, it’s a game where you’re defending your tower from awesome pirates. Specifically, you start with a cheap sandcastle-type tower with one cannon, and you have to use that cannon to defend yourself against the attacking awesome pirates. You earn money for such things like disabling their cannons, hitting pirates in the head, skipping cannonballs over heads, and of course wanton murder, and you use that money to upgrade your tower, upgrade your cannon, and buy more cannons of varying types. But as your tower gets stronger and better defended, you have to face more and more pirates in bigger and bigger boats per wave. . . Gray did his best to go for the headshot above all (especially since it gives you bonuses), and after an initial run with three cannons shooting goofy-faced triple-shots, settled on one triple-shot cannon and two “shoots a literal bomb that you can explode when you like” cannons, getting into a rhythm of using the first to disable the gun and the second to give all of the pirates as bad a day as possible. He struggled in a few parts – the pirate who busts out an air balloon is very tricky to hit (as you can’t actually damage the balloon part, oddly enough), and a few pirates whose cannons survived long enough managed to take down the tower a couple of times – but for the most part, Gray rained absolute death and destruction down upon these unfortunate scallywags via extremely painful headshots. XD Good times!
4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Kind of N/A for tonight, as I’m already all set for this week on Victor Luvs Alice, and there’s nothing currently happening on Valice Multiverse – but I DID just finish getting all seventy pictures for next week’s Chill Valicer Save update (covering the weenie roast that contained no weenies but did contain a burnt Granite Falls Hermit) sorted, so those are ready to drop into my drafts whenever! :D Nice to be a little ahead of THAT curve for a change. :)
So yeah, not bad at all! I do appreciate having a semi-quiet day at work -- especially one where I don't have to listen to my coworkers gossiping about reality TV. *rolls eyes* Anyway, time for me to keep up with the social thing before hitting the sheets -- tomorrow is a cleaning Saturday, after all. Meh. *shrug* But I also have plans to play Sims 4 and do more with the Van Liddelton grocery store (I have had a thought about maybe doing basement processing), keep up with Gray and the latest OXBox list, and get some tumblr drafting done -- gotta prepare not only for Nebby's birthday, but the Official Valice Anniversary on the 22nd! :p Oh, and some writing too -- not sure what kind, but there will be some. But until then, social thing. And TV Tropes. :p Night all!
