Though part of that is because I ended up having to spend some time cleaning up an accidental mess I made, as you will discover when you get to the "tumblr queue" item on the to-do list --

Work – A slightly confusing day – we have a donor who has a daughter with the same name as her and a possible duplicate pledge that I’m trying to puzzle out. O.o We’ll see if we make any headway with that tomorrow. . .otherwise, pretty calm day with some duplicates, some write-offs, and a couple last big check batches to scan. *shrug* I’ll take it! And tomorrow is only a half day, so yay for that. :p

To-Do List

1. Get in a workout: Check – back on the bike, and I did indeed start GrayStillPlay’s latest compilation video – “Testing 100 Vehicles in GTA 5!” Mostly because I looked at the next episode of Oxventure Presents Blades In The Dark, saw it was just a little under two hours, and went “right, I can’t START this compilation next week, but I sure can FINISH it then.” :p As usual, the video had a bit of new content at the beginning, with Alex having Gray see which super-car could make it down a giant ramp and thus across a chunk of the Alamo Sea (with a random windmill set into the water just before the landing spot because Alex) – Gray came close a LOT with stuff like the classic T-20, an F1 racing car, and a couple of cool electric vehicles, but the winner was an eye-bleedingly pink supercar with fantastic forward momentum and the ability to go basically vertical while doing the jump. XD After that we got into the actual “compilation” part, with me reliving the wonders and horrors of Alex’s “gap” board! You know, where Gray had to squeeze through many ridiculous gaps (or occasionally be yanked through them by magnets). I got up to the bit where he found the RC car hidden under the final vehicle while on the bike, and watched him beat it with that before doing my writing as I just wanted to finish up this particular chunk. :P Plus it’s always fun to get a bit more Gray in! Looks like the next board is a “potholes” board – sounds good to me for tomorrow’s ride! :p

2. Continue writing “Londerland Bloodlines: Downtown Queensland”: Check – took a little while longer than I might have liked (thanks to skipping between a few videos to remind myself how the maze worked – and finding a “making-of” video of sorts for it, see below – and briefly having to turn my computer off when I heard a little rumble of thunder), but Alice has managed to escape the creepy mannequin house and its creepy moving mannequins that very much unnerved her (if only because it was weirdness that WASN’T explainable as “Wonderland is fucking with me”). Now, of course, she has to figure out where to go next – fortunately, there’s another door to try, and going to explore mannequin-land unlocked it. You’re almost at the end, Alice! . . .knowing what I know that’s not actually as comforting as you think but you are!

3. Keep up with YouTube Subs: Check plus – I am caught up again on Subs, and I even got in a little extra video –

A) Okay, this one I watched while working on LB:DQ above, but it deserves a mention here – “Unofficial Patch Malkavian Maze,” by Wesp5 – aka the Wesp behind the Unofficial VTMB patch! Just a short video with text captions explaining the creation of the maze (a combination of restored cut content, remastered stuff from beta screenshots – another modder helped create all the weird sideways corridors in the initial maze bit, for example – and new rooms created to mimic cool concept art). Neat stuff, and a nice look into the creative process behind one of my favorite Unofficial Patch additions! :)

B) And then it was time to clean up the Subs with a pair of Josh Way videos –

I. “From Casual Dad to Obsessive Freak: My Video Game Journey” – Josh talks about his entry into video games! Specifically, his entry as an older dad who had basically only ever experienced Duck Hunt at a friend’s house as a child, and had spent his college years getting Playstations more for playing movies than actually playing games. He basically only got a Switch because he was trying to find a new hobby to replace a LEGO obsession he’d just managed to snap himself out of, and he nearly gave THAT up when he couldn’t get into Super Mario Odyssey or The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Fortunately he’d also bought Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze, and that game, despite being hard, gave him enough handholding at the start to keep him invested, and now he’s very much a gamer, with a whole collection of various handheld gaming devices (as he loves the idea of taking video games with him places) that he intends to show off later. Not your typical “gamer” history, to be sure, but he thinks that maybe gives him something a little more interesting to say on the topic. :) I’m looking forward to seeing what he’s got!

II. “Fun With Shorts: How Honest Are You Part 2” – the second half of that Coronet short about honesty! Featuring the boys mostly having honorable intentions (like wanting the coach to know someone might be a thief, vs wanting the basketball team to keep winning) and the girl being a manipulative bint (confessing she wanted the supposed “thief” to get thrown off the team so her boyfriend could become the star player); the fake teens boiling down honesty to knowing yourself, finding the truth, and expressing the truth; and the supposed thief explaining he bought the expensive pen with birthday money and he went in his friend’s locker to find the whistle he borrowed for school play sound effects. As Josh put it, “I gotta be honest – that sucked!” XD Ah, he does do some excellent riffs. :p

4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Check, though in a bit of a “crap I’ve been an asshole” way, unfortunately – namely, after realizing that yes, one of my regular RP partners has been responding to threads, I finally got back on Valice Multiverse, only to find some messages from said RP partner asking if I was mad at her because I hadn’t been around. *facepalm* Cue me writing a big apology message explaining it was the stupid tumblr dashboard update, and then putting a message to the same effect on my blog so people know where I’ve been. *sigh* Yeah, I think my days of being able to have both tumblrs open via using a private browsing window on Firefox are over – I have to have that “Xkit Rewritten” extension to make the Valice Multiverse dash more friendly to my eyes (probably just need to get it in general, anyway), and that means needing to use my main browser window. Better get used to logging into and out of my two different tumblrs again on a regular basis! Just – darn it, I wish I’d thought to actually put up the “hiatus” post earlier, but I honestly wasn’t thinking I’d be missed. I guess when everyone knows you for keeping to a pretty strict schedule. . .

On the plus side, and as a sort of little bonus, finally commented on the last chapter of “This Isn’t Goodbye,” my friend Cas’s RE4 fix-it fic, w000! So that’s over and done with, yay. (Well, except for responding to said comment. And the comment from the other author once she makes it. :P)

And with that, I must be off, because I do have work tomorrow and thus need my sleep. Though maybe not before I finally track down XKit Rewritten and just download it for later. Have a lot of stuff to answer from Brynlee tomorrow to make up for accidentally leaving her in the lurch. . .night all!
