Yeah, the morning wasn't TOO bad, but the afternoon was almost literally a washout, as the "work" section below will confirm --

Work – Woof. . . Okay, the workday itself wasn’t really that bad, fortunately – my coworkers were a little annoying, but I was able to keep my head down, get the GL done, then spend most of the rest of the day working on a QC file for the next billing. My COMMUTES, though – getting TO work was the usual traffic nightmare, with me having to do some hasty moving into another lane at a light because there was an accident right in front of me, and getting home FROM work was another traffic nightmare because it started pouring with rain shortly before we left, meaning traffic on the highway was at a CRAWL because parts of the road were basically straight-up flooded. I did my best to maneuver through all the giant puddles in such a way that wouldn’t drown my car, but it was a nerve-wracking and very unpleasant ride! And I don’t expect the commutes to get BETTER as the week goes on, as we’re due even MORE rain – and, you know, we still gotta see exactly where Lee goes. . . *sigh* Fucking climate change, am I right?

To-Do List

1. Get in a workout: Check – another night on the bike, with two more James Turner videos –

A) “I bought this abandoned warehouse! High School Years (Part 44)” – finished off the last ten or so minutes of this, which consisted of Breanne completing another “everyday wear” gig (where she took a bunch of pictures of one of the guys at the cafe/library, Cole, had to go home to actually submit the picture, then go BACK to the library to upload a previously-approved picture to a computer to game the system and get her $7K payout), which – combined with selling some stuff she didn’t need anymore – got her the money to buy the warehouse! So she and Kirk moved in, with James slapping up some walls for them upstairs to distinguish their bedrooms and setting up all the photo studio stuff downstairs. And putting all of Breanne’s photos on the wall, which, somehow, were NOT all plain black rectangles DESPITE the fact that he transported them via the household inventory! O.O I – I thought that was a known bug? Did they fix it? Or was he just EXTRAORDINARILY lucky? I don’t know, but I’m not about to risk it in my game! But yeah, the goal in the title has been achieved, and now Breanne can start seriously pursuing her dreams of being a famous fashion photographer! And possibly a relationship with Kirk, we’ll see how that goes.

B) “Two families coming together at last! Dine Out (Part 5)” – and started the first half of this, which is Addison and Hilary’s wedding episode! :D Though James isn’t throwing them an “official” My Wedding Stories-type wedding, as he was determined to have it at the restaurant and you can’t choose restaurants as venues for those – instead, he set up a whole wedding area on the second floor gantry/catwalk thing, with an arch, some chairs around a VERY SMALL makeshift aisle, and a few nice decorations, with the plan to have Addison and Hilary just invite over their various family members to witness their spontaneous marriage upstairs. We haven’t actually gotten to that point yet, though, as two other things had to happen first –

I. As James blew most of their money on making the wedding “venue” upstairs, Addison and Hilary had to open the restaurant for a few hours in the evening to make some emergency cash! And while the two waiters showed up, Agatha the chef didn’t for whatever reason, so Addison had to play as the chef while Hilary did hostess things. Fortunately the few hours they were open went reasonably well, and allowed James to show off some stuff in the new version of the “Dine Out Reloaded” mod he was playing with, like allowing take-out orders in Zoomers bags and patrons to walk-in and place their own orders. Addison even got level 6 Gourmet cooking out of the deal, allowing them to make a lovely floral cake for their wedding the next day.

II. And, as Addison and Hilary need all the help they can get when it comes to furnishing their new under-construction house, when Reese (Addison’s magically-created clone-of-Reginald “uncle”) invited Addison to the flea market, they cheerfully agreed! The weather turned out to be utterly MISERABLE, and Reese ended up ditching them early on, but Addison got a chair and a lamp out of the experience, and got to say “hi” to their sister, tell her about the engagement, and take a look at her new place (as her house was the lot that was loaded in for the flea market), so that was nice. :)

So yeah, been an interesting couple of days for this pair! :p I left it off with Addison and Hilary having invited around their families to the restaurant – we’ll see how the actual nuptials go tomorrow! I’m thinking “poorly.” XD

2. Continue writing “Home Sweet Lair”: My noodling around with the Valicer In The Dark AU continues, with more of the gang exploring what will eventually become their lair! After talking about their various experiences with music (Alice never had the patience to keep up with piano lessons as a child, so she considers herself an “interested listener,” while Smiler noodles around on both guitar and drums and is very big into music and dancing, as all Advocates are), the trio have proceeded up the stairs into the tower (mindful of the ghost at the top). After a long climb, they’re taking a well-deserved rest at the first landing – well, Victor and Alice are. Smiler was going to as well, but they’ve been distracted by the workbenches available. Which means next time I write them, they’re going to have a bit of a geek-out over the chemistry and engineering benches. XD What, it’s their thing as a Leech!

3. Keep up with YouTube Subs: Check – just the one GrayStillPlays video today, “Testing cars vs secret traps in GTA 5!” Another patented Alex Torture Board, this time with four fiendish traps for Gray to defeat with the right car –

A) the Glass Box Trap (timed) (a giant glass box rigged with explosives, with three paths going left, right, and straight to teleporters – Gray had to start the timer on the glass box, break through it before he got exploded with it, then pick the right path to the right teleporter to continue the course – oh, and did I mention the types of path kept switching, meaning the floor changed from under him while he was going down his chosen path if he wasn’t quick about it?)

B) the Gap Trench Trap (a bunch of narrow platforms set over a long trench with a stalking windmill inside of it – Gray had to make it across the platforms as the gaps between them got wider and wider, all while avoiding the red-colored platform chunks because those hid slow-down sticks and would pretty much inevitably lead to Gray either getting stuck on a random platform or falling down into the windmill’s waiting blades)

C) the Indiana Jones Trap (a mock-temple set up with a dollar store “holy grail” and two rocks, one in front of Gray and one behind him – when Gray tapped the “grail,” the rock in front of him shot out and started busting down walls on the course in front of him, while the rock behind him started chasing him with unerring accuracy; Gray had to avoid the rock behind him, then avoid a sneaky alien tractor beam in front of him by dropping down to a lower level in the course, THEN find a way to outrun the rock in FRONT of him so he could get to the checkpoint without getting crushed or stranded on a platform floating in midair)

D) and the Mirrored Bridge With Stalking Blender Trap (timed 25 seconds) (a PARTICULARLY fiendish one, where Gray had to navigate an invisible bridge with the help of a colored guide below him in top-down view, all while being stalked by a flaming custom-built Gray blender; the guide showed the general path of the bridge but NOT the various inclines and declines and stuff, and there was a fork near the end where one path led to glory and one path led to doom – oh, and yes, of course it was also timed, as stated).

Yeaaah – some pretty nasty traps in this one! Gray went through pretty much ALL the cars Alex had gifted him in an attempt to find the one that could go the distance. Some, like the quad, couldn’t even get past the box; others, like the F-1 car, could barely do the Gap Trench. The “Patriot” Hummer actually made it all the way to Indiana Jones, but the actual winner, with enough speed and power to get through everything, was the Draugur (the off-road vehicle with one tire lashed to the back – thank you for actually referring to it by name Gray so I could look it up!). And even THAT was a pretty close thing on the invisible bridge! Whew – and he’s going straight from this to Happy Wheels tomorrow! I don’t know how he does it. . .

4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Check – got that “Valicer outfit fun with all my new custom content clothes” post for this Wednesday sorted in the Victor Luvs Alice drafts! Helps that I just had to do the main text – and make sure I had all the links for the clothing. :) So that gets dumped in the queue for tomorrow, along with whatever I’m putting up for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. *nods*

So, yeah, that's my day -- at least I was able to get some stuff done after the commute! And now it is time to try and get some sleep so I can get up tomorrow and see if I need to float to work. *grumbles* Sooo much fucking rain. . .night all!
