Racing To The Finish Line

crossover_chickYeah, this is a much later than usual update because I was trying to answer all of Moose's messages, chat with another friend, AND get my tumblr queue on Victor Luvs Alice updated, and -- yeah. Little too much all at once! At least I have answered everything from Moose now, hooray. . .let me throw up the to-do list and then get out of here --
Work – Back to long, boring days today, sad to say – spent a bit of the morning cleaning up the last of those people with failed credit card payments, then it was back onto duplicates for the rest of the day. *grumbles* I’m okay with doing maintenance, it just does tend to drag a little. Plus my commutes in and back are such horrible trafficky messes lately. . .at least this is a short week and I only have two more days to go!
To-Do List –
1. Get in a workout: Check – back on the bike, finishing off “It's makeover time! High School Years (Part 48)!” And Breanne had a pretty damn awesome rest of the episode –
A) She officially met her niece and nephew and invited Addison’s whole family around to take some fun family pictures of them (though as it turns out, even with the tripod you can only take pictures of three Sims at a time – fortunately it wasn’t hard to get Rye the toddler to stand in the background while the rest of the family posed) – and then brought them back to their place in Oasis Springs so she could slap up the pictures on the wall for them instead of trying to give the lot to them one at a time. XD So now Addison and Hilary will have some family pictures to play with in the next episode of THEIR series, nice. :)
B) She finally was able to get a start on her walk-in wardrobe! It’s not COMPLETELY there yet, but she has fancy marble floors, those fancy Get Famous wardrobes for clothes and shoes, a big old mirror, and a little styling podium (allowing her to try new looks – she let Kenji select some potential new cold-weather-wear for her, and he actually picked out a pretty fun jacket that suits her personality). Building this DID eat up pretty much all of her money, but one gig with a style influencer, taking pictures of her new romantic interest Rey in his formalwear, got her another $12K, so, not a huge deal. XD
C) And – she finally, FINALLY has found true love! Yes, it seems Rey is the one – the pair had two successful dates, visiting Geekcon and Myshuno Meadows (Rey DID have some trouble following her around on the first one when she tried to get them to do activities together, but they DID eventually end up gaming on the couch; and in the second one James’s attempt to get the perfect first kiss in the gazebo was a bit ruined by a random vampire popping in, forcing them to go to a different location), and for once Breanne was NOT doing all the work when it comes to flirting! Rey straight up gave her a rose during their first date, and was the one to suggest they make it official and become boyfriend and girlfriend at the end of their second one. :) So the episode ended with Breanne using her dad’s old thrift store/salon to give Rey a bit of a makeover (as his facial hair situation was a bit rough – one full beard and new haircut later, and he’s looking much better now!), taking him home to woohoo, and then asking him to move in. Mostly because Rey is an adult, and James wanted to make sure he wasn’t about to age up into an elder. XD But no, Rey still has plenty of years left in him. :) I suspect there’s going to be a wedding somewhere in the last two episodes of this series! :D
2. Continue writing “Home Sweet Lair”: Check – finished off the snippet-chapter-whatever-it-is, in fact! Smiler, Victor, and Alice are officially now working together to either find proof of Bumby’s activities that they can somehow get to an Inspector (Victor’s sure he must have a ledger hidden SOMEWHERE in his office) or kill him with the electroplasm bomb Emily tossed Alice before ending Barkis – Gutknecht has recused himself from any murder plans, as that goes against his principles, but he is willing to let them stay in his house, which is nice. :) Next planned piece from this universe actually takes us back in time, though – I want to practice writing things from Smiler’s perspective (all of these snippets so far have been focused on Alice’s POV), and I figure doing a one-shot about that time they paid for Alice’s lunch would be good in that regard. :)
3. Keep up with YouTube Subs: Check – just GrayStillPlays again today with the latest Alex Torture Board – “GTA 5 but roads shrink every minute!” Except that wasn’t QUITE accurate, as the course Alex had him on today was a long elevated road –
That shrank every five seconds. He even made sure the edges of the road were different colors so you could see it shrinking! Gray’s mission, should he choose to accept it, was to find the right car out of the ones provided by Alex that had the speed, handling, and sheer determination to make it down the road in the required sixty-nine second time limit. And because this is ALEX, Gray had to deal with a number of obstacles along the way, starting with dodging around various patterns of stop circles (with a few moving ones at the very end just for flavor); then weaving around various large blocks in the road or leaping over/past them with the provided ramps (which cost him precious seconds in time, AND one block in the middle of the course was actually colored the exact same color as the road, meaning Gray wouldn’t immediately notice it); then get around a big old windmill embedded horizontally into the road, ready to smack Gray with its blades (because of course there is ALWAYS a windmill); then either work around or jump three more ramps, each getting thinner (because there’s always more time for ramps!); then go around a small horizontal wall covering the very core of the road (meaning if the road was too small or had disappeared around that core entirely, it was game over); and finally doing a final chassis slide over the final tiny slice of road left into the win (and if you didn’t do it in the 69 seconds, that chassis slide just straight-up vanished). Gray tried damn near every car on the board – the dump truck, as you might imagine, didn’t even make it past the stop sticks, while most of the remaining cars were able to get either midway or fully past the ramps but not past the windmill. Even the RC car, the smallest car on the board, which you think would have been PERFECT for this challenge, simply didn’t have the speed to make it to the windmill in time to go around the blades. Mom’s Bug and the Side-By-Side both did ALMOST good enough – but the ultimate winner was a gray sport truck of sorts with a spoiler and some sort of red roll cage thing in the back (I would have tried to look it up, but I figured it would take too long), which had the speed and the agility to get down the course and past the windmill, the ramps, and down the chassis slide. :D Hooray for beating another one, Gray! Enjoy your Thursday “Members Only” rest. :p

Get my tumblr queues sorted: Check, even if I was hoping for a little more – the Victor Luvs Alice queue speed has been reset to one per day, and I at least started drafting out a reblog of a “Smiler OC Bingo” card that I spotted in the tag a little while ago. . .have to finish that tomorrow so I can slap it in the queue for Friday. Ugh, always so much to do. . .
