All Right Thursday
Jan. 11th, 2024 11:50 pmNot the best, but certainly not the worst --
Work – Say it with me – “meh” day. I did find something to keep myself busy – researching another potential credit card company fail! Fortunately, it seems they’ve mostly fixed this one, but there’s still some things missing that I’d like them to put on, please. I guess it was something to do, but it always annoys me that I have to watch them this closely and pester them so much to get ANYTHING done. Add in a credit card call coming in at the very last minute, and the traffic home being pretty painful, and – yeah. Didn’t end the day in a great mood. *sigh* At least tomorrow’s Friday!
To-Do List –
1. Get in a workout: Check – back on the bike, pedaling through the following –
A) The end of the GrayStillPlays compilation video “100 ways to ruin human lives!” I finished off Hyper PA (with the PA deciding to let her boss cheat on her because “all men are the same” and then posting horrible replies to comments on social media, earning herself a new devil dress to pair with her halo) and completed the video by watching – Spiral Roll. Which is not a life sim in any way, shape, or form – it’s a game where you use one of a variety of scrapers (coming in mundane flavors, like an actual scraper, and bizarre ones, like a lightsaber) to scrape spirals of wood from logs floating in water, avoiding various obstacles and trying to get your spirals to collect coins and go into basketball hoops for you. It was a bit of an odd choice to end this compilation on, I have to say – maybe Gray just wasn’t sure what to stick there? *shrug* I mean, he DID manage to get well over a million points on it after he learned how to use his spirals, so that’s worthy of celebration, but – still. Odd.
B) “Baldur's Gate 3 - 10 Things You NEED To Do First” by GameSpot! A list of things to consider when playing through Act One of the game. Some of them were pretty simple – here’s where to find all the companions, don’t piss off the druids in the grove unless you WANT a massacre – while others were genuinely helpful tips – always keep a shovel on you for treasure-digging purposes, and a torch for those unfortunates without Darkvision. And abuse Speak With Animals, it’s a fun spell. XD Nothing particularly groundbreaking, but it filled out my workout and was fun enough to watch!
2. Continue editing “Londerland Bloodlines: Downtown Queensland”: Check – Nines has finished saving Alice from the Sabbat shovelheads by blowing the head off the one coming back to attack them, then told her that she needed to watch herself better and that she should come by The Last Round to hear the real story of being a Kindred before super-speeding off, leaving her temporarily stranded in a junkyard. She was not impressed with this behavior, as you might imagine. :p Well, she was impressed with being saved, but – you know what I mean. XD I have left it with her following Rabbit (who is running a bit slower than usual on account of both their heads pounding) back to civilization Downtown – time for her to go exploring the heart of the city!
3. Keep up with YouTube Subs: Substitution, as the only Subs video I had today was another compilation video GrayStillPlays uploaded (another two hours of GTA V Alex Torture Boards, hooray) – so instead I caught up on the latest from OXtra, “7 Distracting Youtuber Cameos that Made Us Go ‘Wait, what?’” XD A list of YouTuber and Twitch Streamer cameos in games, guaranteed to distract you – if you know who they are and play those particular games. Which I do not and have not in pretty much all cases. XD At least I recognized a few names – Brian David Gilbert, formerly of “Unraveled,” is in Starfield (as fellow starfarer (and paper-pusher) Phil Hill); Markiplier, famous YouTube scream king, is in Subnautica (as a bobblehead of himself that spits out famous lines from his Early Access LP of the game); and Jacksepticeye, probably one of the most famous Irish YouTubers around, is in Poppy’s Playtime Chapter Two (as a live-action cameo on a collectible tape that tells you about the next monster you’re going to meet while turning the Irish accent up to twelve). Honestly, though, I’d prefer to hear the OXBox crowd in a game. Come on, IO, you’ve already referenced the gang twice in your Hitman games – take the final plunge and let one of them voice someone!
4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Check –
Victor Luvs Alice – N/A on the queue (though I do have to start thinking about what’s going up next week), but I got a belated birthday present from WeirdKev27 – a commissioned Valice piece featuring Victor and Alice in a popular tumblr meme that was going around a bit ago XD Cute stuff, though I’m not ENTIRELY sure why the picture is transparent. *shrug* Choice of the artist, I guess!
Valice Multiverse – One anon ask about pronouns (and how people who use all of them are playing 3D chess with gender) – I will take it!
*shrug* Yeah -- overall, a pretty average day, though that Valice fanart was a nice surprise. :) And now I have to go to bed and get ready to do it all again tomorrow -- at least we're almost at the weekend! The stormy, stormy weekend. . .hopefully the weather won't be TOO bad, but I guess we'll see. Night all!
