Which has been a bit of a theme today -- woke up a bit later than I wanted to this morning; mis-tapped in one of my phone games and wasted some time trying to get out of a mini-game I didn't want to play; ride into work was a bit slower than I wanted; ride HOME was a bit slower than I wanted -- etc, etc. But I am here, and I am ready to update:

Work – Another reasonably-busy day – had a couple of phone calls (one credit card call and one call for another department) and struggled with some of the reports I usually run (one just wasn’t working for some reason?), but most of my day was spent doing obituaries and cleaning up stuff I found while doing the obituaries. *shrug* It’s something! But I am glad that tomorrow is only a half-day. Looking forward to it.

To-Do List

1. Get in a workout: Check – another night on the bike, moving on to “I have two babies and many regrets in the Every Life Stage Challenge! - Part 2” by James Turner! Things are slowly but surely becoming slightly more chaotic in Semaj’s house, with the following developments –

A) The purchase of the special money-giving trash can, since James (who normally never considers that thing worth it) allowing that it’ll be good in a household that will eventually get very, VERY big – he is having a lot of fun dragging dirty diapers and plates into it for cash

B) Mei Prescott temporarily joining the household just long enough to give birth to her baby (since that was the easiest way for James to confirm that she was pregnant AND make sure he got to name and keep the kiddo) – James and Semaj have largely been ignoring her except to shoot down her aspirations to become Semaj’s girlfriend XD

C) Bernice continuing her stalkery ways, not helped by Semaj giving her a key to the house (Mei got one too) – though she apparently isn’t quite ready to leave her husband either, as she asked Semaj his opinions on having another baby with him (Semaj, baby-mad, said “go for it”)

D) Semaj acing another audition and doing well on another commercial (this one apparently for some Voidcritter-based tunes), to the point where he’s gotten a promotion to official Commercial Spokesperson – he has also discovered he can steal the pizzas and hot dogs from the catering table without penalty XD

E) A massive thunderstorm leading to a visiting Simeon Silversweater getting lightly toasted at the front door; Semaj developing a dislike of Mischief from being wet and uncomfortable from an earlier jog while performing pranks on Prank Day; and the game giving Semaj a free Plumbite crystal from a lighting strike to tempt him to make needs-increasing jewelry again (James has put the crystal in Semaj’s inventory but is holding off on doing anything with it for now)

F) A trip to the flea market leading Semaj to purchase two standing martini lights and a little folding desk lamp light – I have just realized I need to track down those martini lights for Smiler’s party barn in the Chill Valicer Save XD

Yes, Semaj is keeping busy as he waits for his next kid to join the family! I left off with him picking up the “Active” trait from all the working out he’s been doing for his various roles – tomorrow, we’ll meet the next member of the family and age up Krystoff into an infant! :)

2. Continue editing “Start At The Beginning...Sort Of”: Check – we have started Chapter Four, with Smiler having summed up everything that happened in the previous chapters to one Sergeant Tannen off-screen while they’re all waiting around for the Spirit Wardens to show up and collect Barkis’s corpse. Tannen thinks it’s a very strange story and that they’re a very strange group, which, none of them can deny. XD He’s also insisting that they come down to the station to give statements, which Alice is struggling with given that she’s had trouble with the law before – which, unfortunately, Tannen both knows about and is willing to be a dick about. But – sadly for these three – their troubles are just starting… (On the plus side for me, I discovered someone’s playlist of various bits of music that make them think of Blades In The Dark while looking for writing music today, and I am really enjoying listening to it :D)

3. Keep up with YouTube Subs: Substitution check – neither Gray nor Josh uploaded today, so instead I turned to the latest OXBox list to keep me entertained after writing – “7 Incredibly Stupid Decisions We Can't Believe Worked Out!” Andy and Jane taking us through those horribly bad decisions in games that actually turned out to be the best thing to do, under the circumstances. Tell a wandering Mr. Gutsy looking for Communist Chinese spies to go fuck itself in Fallout 4? Turns out that’s the only dialogue option that doesn’t lead to a fight, because only an American would say that. Let Volo do horrible inadvisable surgery on you to rid you of your tadpole that leads to you losing an eye in Baldur’s Gate III? Turns out he’ll give you a replacement that allows you to see invisible enemies up to thirty feet away. Eat a glowing mushroom that looks super-poisonous in Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater? Turns out that not only does it improve your stamina, it also recharges your batteries – your medic cannot believe it either. XD Sometimes, dumb is good, is what they’re saying.

4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Check – nothing was happening on Valice Multiverse, so I’ve let that one be, but on Victor Luvs Alice, I finished up the main text and tags on my queued-up reblog of “Light Up The Sky” by The Afters as my Song Saturday pick (explaining that the vibes of the song make me think of the Valicer three-player AMA AU that occasionally kicks around my head). I also reblogged Moose’s latest McFly July fic (about the family that lives in the McFly house in 1985-A – father Henry is still refusing to move, but even he is having doubts about staying in the neighborhood), and a post about having ships that make you squee like a teakettle (Valice and Valicer, natch). So I’m good there!

So yes, I may have had some instances of running late, but at least I got a good chunk of stuff done too! And now it is time for me to head out and try and get some decent sleep in preparation for Friday. Fingers crossed it's a good one -- night all!
