It was a pretty cruddy day weather-wise, I'm afraid (cool but muggy, with rain showers -- not great), but other than that, it was fairly unremarkable --

Work – Pretty quiet first day back – did the GL, took one call to set up a new pledge, looked through some returned mail, and spent the rest of my time working on obituaries and doing my best to ignore my coworkers’ chatting. *shrug* Typical Monday, really. Just four more days until freedom, though!

To-Do List

1. Get in a workout: Another night on the bike, another night with the GrayStillPlays compilation “When you hit max score in every mobile game!” I have finished off the Hoop World! video (Gray traveled through Florida, a random forest, Antarctica, and medieval times, dunking on everyone along the way) and got most of the way through his very first Bowmasters video (where he was much more surprised by the idea of streamers throwing their controllers to electrocute people, or getting stabbed in the groin by a baguette thrown by a mime, than he was in later entries). We’ll finish that off and see what’s next tomorrow!

2. Continue editing “Londerland Bloodlines: Downtown Queensland”: Check – Alice has agreed to be Fat Larry’s “Cleopatra Jones” and retrieve a certain briefcase from a certain parking garage in exchange for a cut of the profits from its sale and access to Fat Larry’s special stock – plus a ten percent discount, since Carpenter indicated she could get away with asking for a bit more for such a dangerous job. :p She’s thus on her way to invade said parking garage, planning to use Obfuscate as much as she dares to get around having to fight anyone. We’ll see how she handles getting inside tomorrow!

3. Keep up with YouTube Subs: Check – had a nice easy Monday two today –

A) First up, we had Josh Way and “RAW TAKE: Deadpool & Wolverine Review!” Which featured Josh trying to quickly review the movie before the sun got into his eyes, because he does these reviews in his car now. XD His thoughts could be summed up as “I went into this with some severe handicaps – namely, I’ve got severe MCU fatigue, I’m not the biggest fan of Deadpool, and I’m not the biggest fan of Ryan Reynolds – but I still had fun while I was watching it. I may feel differently on a rewatch, but for now I feel like everything landed and it was a good ride and a good introduction for Deadpool into the MCU proper. Oh, and you’ll enjoy this movie more if you’re a fan of the old 20th Century Fox X-Men movies.” So take that how you will and make your movie-watching choices accordingly!

B) And second up, we had GrayStillPlays and “Trying terrible GTA 5 ripoff games!” Which featured Gray checking out three different mobile games that supposedly ripped off GTA to see which one was the best of the best. What were the results? Well –

I. Indian Bikes Driving 3D – The one arguably closest to the actual GTA experience, Gray found himself in control of a buff dude in a comically over-sized house (all of his furniture was bigger than he was), in the middle of a janky mid-tier copy of Los Santos. There were no quests, the guns barely did any damage to anything (they didn’t even break the cars’ windshields, though they did eventually blow up the cars with very flat fire), and the C4 sticky bombs refused to properly explode – but the entire game had delightfully fucked-up physics, with cars bouncing like they were on springs every time he ran over someone and hanging in the air for ages when he did stunts. That and that alone brought the game from a 2/10 to a 5/10 in Gray’s eyes. XD

II. Gangster Vegas: Grand Mafia 3D (aka The Grand Mafia) – I think this one was supposed to be based more on Vice City rather than GTA V – you played as a guy running around in a Hawaiian shirt in a Florida-esque location, at any rate – but Gray couldn’t really get anything done because the game forced him to watch an ad what felt like every five seconds. In the middle of a fistfight with a pedestrian? Ad. Swimming out into the open ocean to drown himself? Ad. Trying to kick a beach lounger at a passerby just to have SOME sort of fun in this game? AD. Gray gave it a 1.5/10 before he finally fled the call of capitalism, and I think it was lucky to get THAT.

III. Dude Theft Wars FPS Open World – AKA “what’s a Call Of Duty clone doing on this list?” XD Yes, this particular game did not ape the GTA V model of play – instead, you made yourself a blocky little noob dude (including giving him a line to say), then hit the multiplayer “Noobtown” map and spent your time gunning down other noob dudes to see who was the best at murder. (Which, okay, that bit’s a LITTLE like GTA V.) It was janky, it was ridiculous-looking, it had a horrible soundtrack, and it wasn’t even the right genre of game –

But it had absolutely no ads, so Gray gave it a 6/10 and declared it the winner of the three. XD Which, given the last game he played? FAIR.

4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Check – only had Victor Luvs Alice to worry about tonight, and I spent my time in the drafts getting the image alt text and tags sorted on the two “updates to the Chill Valicer Save farmhouse” posts that will be going up on Wednesday. So THAT’S all set, at least! Still have to figure out what I’m doing Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, but – we’ll see if inspiration strikes.

Aaand that was my day! Nothing more to report, really -- time to head to bed and prepare to take on Tuesday. After I watch some clips of my OT3-related properties because I haven't done that in a while. :p *thumbs up* Night all!
