The very brief grind, but still the grind. :p Let me bring you up to speed on how my day went --

Work – Busy first day back at work, but fortunately not overwhelmingly so – it helped that I don’t think the phone rang once all day. I caught up on my e-mail; ran the daily reports from the credit card company; did a pledge billing QC file for one of our campaigns that had been sitting around since I was on vacation; did the GLs; called a lady about a credit card update; did ANOTHER pledge billing QC file for the OTHER campaign; answered a few questions about the latest thank-you file; and ended the day splitting someone’s one recurring gift into two. So yeah, definitely a lot to do! We’ll see if tomorrow is similarly busy!

To-Do List

1. Get in a workout: Check – another night on the bike, pedaling my way through the last bit of the GrayStillPlays compilation “1000 Ways to Murder the King!” (Well, sort of – I stopped with six minutes left to go, so I ended up just watching the last bit after supper.) Made it through the end of the “choice tower” game (as I thought, it ended with Gray getting randomly teleported out of a bathroom after escaping the tower), the “devil’s storybook” game (where Gray had to use the devil to create stories of pain and murder, like a woman drinking flaming poison after thinking her husband was dead and accidentally burning him with her breath, or two guys getting killed by the devil chopping down the same tree twice after regrowing it), and a final “navigate the obstacles to kill the king” game (where Gray had to direct a guy and his sweet propeller hat to the sleeping king through such obstacles as lasers, various types of cannon, and buttons that had to be weighted down by slices of cheese). Fun stuff – and tomorrow, we have even more fun with James taking on looking after newborn twins in the Every Life Stage Challenge! :D Yaaaay~

2. Continue editing “Londerland Bloodlines: Downtown Queensland”: Check – Alice has made it down another level in the parking garage, past more guards doing unknowing double-acts for her entertainment (seriously, some of the conversations you can catch down there are very amusing XD). She’s in the home stretch now, and preparing to take a vent shortcut past another guard at the bottom of the final ramp – we’ll see how close she gets to the infamous briefcase trade-off tomorrow!

3. Keep up with YouTube Subs: Check – two for Tuesday today –

A) First up, we had Josh Way and “GRAB BAG: Deadpool and Trap Spoiler Talk, etc.” – another video of him rambling in his car about those things that he wants to discuss! (Because doing fancier videos isn’t really an option in his life right now – I’m fine with that, as his opening titles for SCREEN TIME always came on really loud.) As per the title, the rambles revolved around him talking about Deadpool and Wolverine (Josh is of the opinion that this a movie that is fun to see in the theater, but then when you rewatch it again a few years later the magic has worn off and you’re not sure why you like it; he also feels like this movie isn’t nearly as grim as the previous movies (which may not be a bad thing) and has lost the emotional heart of the first two films (basically they do Deadpool’s original love interest, Vanessa, dirty)) and Trap (Josh and his buddy Dan came up with a fun extra-twisted take on the movie after seeing it, which I shan’t say here because it’s too many spoilers, but it did sound pretty interesting). Oh, and his ideas for maybe doing a podcast about movies and how they portray religion, in keeping with an idea he expressed in an earlier video (where he revealed he’s got a Masters in Biblical Literature). We’ll see if that goes anywhere, I suppose!

B) And second up, we had GrayStillPlays and “I made the stock market 1000x more painful,” aka more Happy Wheels! I am much happier with this kind of content than yesterday’s, Gray. Anyway, we started with the Traditional Bottle Flip (with Gray deciding he wanted to flip a bottle on top of one of the stems holding all the spots you were SUPPOSED to flip a bottle – and then getting it like immediately) and proceeded through such boards as a particularly difficult ball fall with Pogo Guy (where the balls got really tiny at the end and the win was half-covered with watermelons); a long bottle run with Bike Dad and Tom Hardy – with a throat-height spike at the end (Gray had to get his dodging skills sorted for that); a stickman with a sword chasing Segway Nixon through a mine-covered course (where the censors had a bit of a time trying to hide the fact that at one point a bunch of children explode); an obstacle course full of deadly spiky pizzas for Bike Dad and Tom (Bike Dad made it to the end – Tom did not); a marble-filled hallway for Bike Dad to crawl through to get a coin (Gray is a very experienced crawler and did this easily); an orange “fixed” rope swing for Segway Nixon (featuring him getting shot via a cannon into a wall of spikes – though he did win before he died); an “impossible” rope swing for Nixon that was actually a tumble into a ball-and-triangle-fall (there may have been an actual rope swing, but Gray was happy getting the “secret ending”); and the Dylan Snider Board, which saw CEO Segway Nixon having to fix his company’s tumbling stock prices by either printing money (which involved jumping over pits to make the money print faster, getting fired, and then leaping out a window) or getting emergency funds from the vault (which involved avoiding being crushed, dodging spike blocks coming down on his head, then getting locked in the safe). Good times, good times~ I do love a Happy Wheels Tuesday!

4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Check and check –

Victor Luvs Alice – Threw my “Smiler Birthday CAS Lookbook” post and my recently completed “VITD Fun With Special Abilities” post into the queue for Wednesday and Thursday respectively – still gotta figure out Friday and Saturday, but I’ll have a little extra time for that later this week. Was already thinking I might post music both days since I missed Song Saturday this past weekend… I also reblogged a post about the newish international hand signal for “help me” (read the Wikipedia article here) that a friend sent, since that’s just good information to spread. *serious nod*

Valice Multiverse – Had one ask from someone named “toonsisters” (who has asked a couple of other things lately, notably about a young Victor having long hair and about needing a hug), who demonstrated her ability to pop off her head and hold it in her hand – I ended up replying with both Cuddlepile!Victor and Alice (Alice thought it was a hallucination before a stunned Victor confirmed it was real) and the whole Valicer In The Dark trio (Alice once again had to check, and Victor this time confirmed it was real and that “toonsisters” was not something that pinged his supernatural radar, with Smiler being surprised to learn this and asking toonsisters what she was). I couldn’t choose between them! XD Besides, I’ve wanted to use the VITD trio in more asks, so, yay there. :p

Other: Dad update – he’s doing about the same as he was yesterday – trying to eat a little more, dealing with pain, stuff like that. He’s got another doctor’s appointment on Friday, so we’ll see how that turns out!

So yeah -- could have been a lot worse of a first day back! And now it is time for me to head to bed and prepare for my second day back, before I get another day off. :P Night all!
