Saved games still there, colleges safely in place. We have lift-off!
-D: Enjoy your new Sims experience?-
For the most part, yeah. I did have a few problems with the usual sluggish movement. *grr*
I set up colleges for Strangetown and Twin Oaks Park -- La Festiva Tech for the first, Academie Le Tour for the second. I played a single student from each to get into the swing of things. The first, Worthington, set his stove on fire while trying to make a toaster pastry. And he didn't have a fire alarm!
-M: O.o-
He survived, although with an almost bottomed-out aspiration score. I managed to eek him back up while having him write his term paper and such. Ironically, one of his wants after the fire was to buy a smoke detector. :p
I played him for a day, then checked out the Strangetown Browns. It appears a side effect of the install was to reset everyone's needs to move-in needs, which was kinda nice. I had Doc go to work on Charisma and Marty his homework while George and Lorraine flirted and exchanged back rubs -- once again, embarrassing their son.
-VM: Come on, don't you get a little embarrassed when your parents go all lovey-dovey?-
-VuM: It's even weirder when you've seen them do it at your age.-
hehe. Anyway, once everyone was all set, I promptly bought a guitar (which, oddly, satisfied a want for
Lorraine) for Marty and had him play some rock.
Rock and RollHere, an interesting thing happened. George came out, and autonomously tipped Marty 100 simoleons. I figured, what the hell, it's the same money all around, and let him watch his son play. When Marty stopped playing, he took the 100 simoleons out of the jar, and it was added to the family pot. Right about that time, I realized the pot had not been reduced by 100 when George tipped, but it had been upped by 100 when Marty collected the tip.
-M: O.o-
-J: That's -- weird.-
I know, but -- hey, free money! However, it only happens if you let them tip autonmously. I tried it with making him tip later when Marty was doing jazz on the piano, and the 100 was subtracted as usual. Still, George seems to like tipping his own family members, so I'll roll with it.
At daylight, I turned aging back on and grabbed a pair of Elixers of Life. These guys are rolling in Aspiration points, so I figure I no longer really need aging off to keep them all young. Plus, I do want Marty to attend college. Doc then made me laugh by spontaneously playing Country on the guitar.
I'm an Old CowhandGeorge and Lorraine made out, boosting themselves to platinum mood, and Doc called Gypsy and got their daily up to 100. I had everyone fulfill their needs, then directed Lorraine to invite the headmaster over again. She went to work, and the boys took naps to fortify themselves for the scenario. Headmaster Andrew arrived at five, and Doc chatted him up. George served Lobster Thermidor, made conversation, and showed the house. They got 91/90 points, so Andrew accepted them and left early. Go Marty! Clara called up George, and they had a nice chat. Lorraine came home at 10 with a promotion to Celebrity Chef -- her career is now maxed, woo-hoo. She called up her old friend Holly (her friends are kinda dipping into the danger zone), then everyone went to bed.
-VD: Busy day.-
Yesum. Then I went over to TOP and did another college student. She was easier to manage -- a brainac, so she got happy from doing assignments and such. I had her work as a barista at a coffee shop (for those who may not understand, basically a server/counter person). 16 bucks given at random intervals -- not bad.
-OD: How about fan--
*holds up TWO sketches of VultureMarty, one partially inked*
-OD: Oh. In that case -- *claps* *tentacles clack pincers in similar fashion*-
-VuM: *looking* Hey, not too shabby. You even got my hairstyle right.-
Close as I could get, anyway. Glad you like.
Well, time for me to be off. *salutes*
