crossover_chick: gif with Doc and Marty trying to get out of being written into twisted AUs (In a sarcastic mood)
Work today was BRUTAL. I'm glad I work just a four-hour shift. The place was practically packed half of the time -- me and my coworker B could barely keep up! And of course there were a ton of orders in the back to detag and bag. I didn't have my lunch until a half-hour before my shift was over. Some highlights (reminder -- I'm a cashier/bagger at the local drycleaners):
-->Early on, some guy came in for pickup -- he wanted a shirt. I go and get the ready shirt -- nope, that's not the right one. I go and get the other order -- that's a coat. So we start looking around for the guy's shirt, and he's bitching about how he has a meeting in Providence in 30 minutes and how we've really let him down and stuff. Of course B and my other two co-workers are all apologizing and stuff, while I work the crowd (he managed to come at a really busy time) and offering store credit and such. He eventually gets lost in the crowd to me. We finally catch up on orders, and B asks me what happened to the stuff that I did get for the guy. Turns out he took the items without paying for them. Okay, I know we did lose or not finish his shirt (I don't remember which, it was that busy), but still, something about that suggests [livejournal.com profile] customers_suck.
-->Shortly after "Providence Meeting Guy," this other man rushes in and starts talking really fast about his laundry order and which account it's supposed to be under. I barely catch any of it, and I end up having a minor freak-out in which I'm all confused. He tells me to calm down, and we get the whole thing straightened out for him -- he turns out to be a carpet cleaning guy, and knows the owner. I take in his drop-off, give him his pick-up -- he claps me on the shoulder, tells me to try and loosen up (ironically, I tend to tighten up more if someone touches me). He also ended up leaving me a tip for 2 bucks, which was nice. :)
-->We're apparently having an auction in town for charity later, and two of the things being auctioned off are two beach-themed chairs. The people helping coordinate the things come in to take some pictures, and one of them says (paraphrase), "You know, it's a good thing we're in here, that attracts business because it looks like we're busy." Okay, not the best thing to say to a trainee who's just had to deal with five customers at once.
-->One woman brought in a pair of white jeans with dirt and grass stains -- turns out there's a giant ant on them. *ewwww* I managed to get it off and stomp it.
-->About midway through my shift, something happens to one of the cash registers. The drawer just refuses to open. We can still use it for dropping off, just not for pickup (customers pay when they pick up their clothes). Of course, once that drawer gets stuck, the other one has to run out of available change. :( B was forced to make a run down to the bank.
-->Another gross thing -- some lady brought in a pair of pants with blood on them. I understand stains, but still -- blood = eww. (B told me a story about getting a pair of pants with blood all over the butt)
-->The mother of one of the back room girls shows up with an order, then disappears into the back to talk to her daughter. I don't mind her talking to her kid, but just don't vanish on me like that! Wait until I can give you your ticket slip at least, please.
-M: Wow! That does sound busy.-
I know. I'm just glad that, for the most part, the customers are nice to us girls. And that I only work a 4-hour shift Mondays through Fridays.
-D: Well, I'm sure you'll get used to it.-
I certainly hope so. The other days should be quieter.

Yes, I'm playing Sims daily now. Get used to it.
-VD: I would if you actually wrote something before you played Sims.-
I know, I know, I'm a bad Vicky. I'll try to do better.
-D: So what have the Sims been up to?-
Well, I played Patrickson to get him up to speed with the Von Braun family. I think I might be saving the no-holds-barred fight for when you catch him with Jill Wooster -- not sure yet.
-D: Just so long as I get to teach the bastard a lesson.-
:) Anyway, Donald is now a sophomore, and visited the Student Center. Not only did he get into some fights with a passing Emmett (my main reason for going):

I also got the lucky coincidence of Emily and John meeting each other over a game of pool :).

-VD2: Did they get along?-
Sure did, Emily had 35 daily with him when I went over to their lot. Holly headed to her Abnormal Psychology class, leaving Doc to gain a cleaning point. I want to keep him around five or so, because I want him to have a Biotech station.
-M: You never use the one the Strangetown family owns.-
True, but it makes for good decoration. Very mad-scientist. Anyway, Emily came back, took a shower, and was forced to fix it again. Holly invited over John, and Doc got to get in a chat before heading off to class.

Emily made friends with Arazel over the phone, while Holly and John got closer. Both girls went to bed shortly after John left. Doc came home with a set of lousy motives -- I decided to have him hop in the Energizer, clean up lunch, and start his term paper.

And that's where I left my Simmies. Tomorrow I really gotta revisit Hill Valley, if only to see what the heck the Baines's are Aspirationally.
Tired now. Bye.
