crossover_chick: gif with Doc and Marty trying to get out of being written into twisted AUs (Default)
Made a few more minor edits to "V.D." Chapter 9, rewrote the trickiest section in "Boy Genius" so it made more sense canon-wise, got past my writer's block for "You Look Interesting. . . ." (the Changeling/BTTF/Corpse Bride prelude thingy), wrote two pages on "Corpse Mask," and updated my antivirus/antispyware programs for two more years (they were offering specials, so what the hey).
-VD: I hope that minor edits means you're almost ready to post.-
Looking like it, yeah. :)
-TD: What did you do, change it to Skiff?-
Sort of -- she's still yelling in Geistersprache, but Gil thinks it sounds a bit like Skiff. It probably needs more ironing out, but at least now it fits better with what Klaus told Gil in the hospital.
-VDM: I still don't get why you feel the need to follow canon like you do.-
I don't want to Godmode with you guys. "Boy Genius 2" will be easier in that regard, as you'll be truly on your own, and it'll be set in the future. Maybe a year?
-VDM: Don't make it too long! I want to meet my girlfriend! *pause* That makes me sound like some sort of creepy stalker.-
*giggle* It's okay, I get what you're saying.
-VD2: I assume the issue with "You Look Interesting" was just getting past the initial exposition.-
Yeah, basically. I reread Geno's two chapters, that helped.
-M2: I feel really sorry for this version of Doc. Andrew would get along well with Jack, wouldn't he?-
-M: I dunno. I get the feeling neither of them would like the competition.-
*shakehead* More like Andrew would be upset that Jack's not learning anything from his killing. Andrew's motiviation is to learn everything in the entire world. He's been kidnapping and modifying scientists for a long while now, studying and learning from them, then quietly disposing of them once he feels he's gleaned everything he can. He's a really creepy character, you know. Perfect face, perfect hair, perfect teeth -- but he's always slightly smiling in this way that makes your skin crawl.
-HD: *shivers* Why would any version of us go with him, then?-
Well, that's his Fae mein self. When he's posing as a human, he can act pretty much normal. A little hero-worshipful of whoever he's planning on kidnapping, but. . . . He has no malice against the people he takes -- in fact, he tells Doc that he's gotten a great deal, being taken. "Here, everyone will appreciate your genius! You won't have to toil away in obscurity all your days! And soon, with time, you'll be able to invent whenever the mood strikes you, without all of this tedious eating and sleeping business. Doesn't that make you happy?"
-MF: . . . Can we move on, please?!-
Yeah, damn, I think I spooked myself.
-TTV: *hurriedly* Two pages on "Corpse Mask!" We're ahead of the game already.-
Yeah, I know! We're coming up on the Costume Party of Doom. Then we head back downstairs for a while, and you get to call Barkis "monkey-boy" as I adapt Stanley's "snapped from stress" speech.
-TTV: *chuckle* I know it's not actually happening to me, but it's very fun to watch.-
Hey, it's fun to write. Just hope other people will like it once I FF.net it. *fingers crossed*
-OD: *patpats* I'm sure someone will. Now how about my own chapter?-
Poking at it -- frankly, I'm not seeing a lot to change. Maybe I should just update -- oooh, must wait a few days.
-OD: *laughs* You don't HAVE to update everything on our birthday.-
Hey, why not? God knows I should do something for you on your special day.
-RPD: Yes, but -- aren't you also playing both Eureka and Twin Oaks Park that day? Seems like a cramped schedule.-
I'll find time. ^^
-DW: . . . Victoria, did you actually do what you were muttering about earlier this month?-
That's for me to know and you to find out.
-DW: *shakehead* If you're going to take someone's birthday off, it should be your own.-
-D: Do your parents even know yet?-
I'll tell them beforehand, don't worry. Look, technically I'm only grabbing a 3-day weekend that I didn't get before -- Columbus Day, remember? Coupled with how many times my coworker's been out. . . .
-D: *holds up hands in surrender* We get the point.-
Come on, don't you think it's even a little nice?
-HD: It depends. How late are you going to sleep?-
Who knows. Though it wouldn't be too late, since I have cake to get, and movie to watch, and Sims to play and all of that.
-DW: I suppose it is sweet -- we just don't want you getting in trouble.-
*patpats* It's fine, really. Plus, it's also a bit of a sanity break. My vacation already feels like years ago.
Okay, fic time. By which I probably mean "read Changeling and watch YouTube" time.
