A Very Not Manic Monday
Sep. 16th, 2024 11:46 pmAs evidenced by me not updating this thing at the exact last minute. :p But yeah, didn't have a very exciting Monday at all --
Work – Pretty quiet Monday – spent most of my morning doing the GL, then the rest of the day doing roster maintenance stuff. *shrug* Nothing very exciting! We’ll see if the rest of the week is the same.
Oh, and we did play beanbags again today, and Mom and I redeemed ourselves for our poor performances yesterday by each winning a game! :) Though I went downhill rapidly as the rounds progressed, that’s for certain – went from throwing sixes to zeros. *wince* But still, won one! Final scores were me W-2-3; Dad 2-W-2; Mom 3-3-W. Not too bad!
To-Do List –
1. Get in a workout: Check – another night on the bike, another night with James Turner and “I have 8 Sims in one house... Every Life Stage Challenge! - Part 7!” I am pleased to say that things started going a bit better for the very broke, very big family in this half-hour – namely, Krystoff managed to paint a few masterpieces along with all of his other paintings, which brought in a decent amount of dosh, and Semaj – after inviting over his costars to make friends and using a visiting Bernice to practice “action scenes” (aka fights) on – had an EXCELLENT day on the old job and brought in a good eight grand from filming his pirate movie! Meaning James was finally able to buy Sunny and Vivienne appropriate beds; make sure all rooms had doors or archways; furnish the upstairs for Krystoff and his eventual family (it turned out REALLY nice, honestly – like a little upstairs cottage for him and his love); and get Camilo’s room sorted (he got Krystoff’s old room, appropriately, which James had to furnish in purple AND pink because it was hard to find a lot of good purple objects in Camilo’s chosen “luxe” style). The house is still not FULLY done (the second downstairs bathroom doesn’t have anything in it, for starters), but it’s looking a lot better than it did at the beginning of the episode, that’s for sure!
As for tasks, everyone’s doing pretty well – as mentioned, the twins Sonny (yeah, apparently I’ve been spelling it wrong) and Vivienne have already completed everything THEY need to do as children, so they’re good. Scarlett the infant got the last of her milestones in this chunklet with some tummy time, while Camilo is ALMOST good with all of his toddler skills – he’s just working on getting that Potty skill up to level 3! And Semaj is doing decently, having gotten up to three levels in Gardening skill by tending his strawberries and daisies (thus fulfilling the task necessary to get Scarlett to age up), and completed an aspiration milestone by going into “full parent mode” trying to help all his kids with their home and teaching them manners and whatnot. Krystoff and Pablo are lagging behind, though – Krystoff because he’s been painting almost non-stop to make money, while Pablo’s been forced to do loads of volunteering because James was trying to fulfill the aspiration task to have a kid with three character values in range to earn a trait, and that was a good way to raise his Empathy. Now that Semaj ended up doing the “full parent mode” one instead, though, he is free! I left it with James sending the family over to ThrifTea so Pablo could make his required outfit – and then remembering that he also has to send them to StrangerVille because the family activity he spun up last time requires everyone who can to eat the bizarre fruit… Yeah, I think things are gonna get a little more chaotic in the last forty-odd minutes of this episode. XD
2. Continue editing “Londerland Bloodlines: Downtown Queensland” Chapter 3: Check – Alice has successfully escaped the Empire Arms Hotel, after tricking Dima and the guards into believing she was a professional assassin hired by one of their enemies (and NOT Venus) to murder their boss, and then going invisible and creeping away as fast she could the minute Dima took his eyes off her. XD I left her hiding in an alley near the parking lot, trying to make sure that the hotel doesn’t go off worse than the warehouse outside of Santa Monica while affirming to herself that, one, she’s never setting foot in the Empire Arms again if she can avoid it, and two, LaCroix never needs to know about this. XD Ah, life as the VTMB fledgling really is such fun, isn’t it? At least she’s almost done with this particular side mission…
3. Keep up with YouTube Subs: Check – just the one GrayStillPlays video tonight, “Roblox but i get 1,256x stronger every minute,” aka Gray plays the Roblox game Need More Strenght! Yes, it is genuinely misspelled that way on the Roblox page. XD This is a game where you play as a young bullied child, who goes to their bulbous-armed brother for help in beating the bully. The brother tells them (in VERY broken English) that they have to get stronger to defeat the bully, and the game then progresses through having you lift different things around the neighborhood in a desperate attempt to get strong enough to beat your brother at arm wrestling and thus prove you’re ready for the bully. You start by lifting dumbbells, then progress to lifting various pieces of furniture in the house, then head to the gym to do some deadlifts, then literally yank trees and streetlamps out of the ground, then finally get to the point where you’re lifting the car and STILL cannot beat your brother. Leaving you with the choice of accepting some mysterious substance from the weird guy you met at the gym, or calling upon a literal god for help… Gray being Gray, he made sure to get both endings for our amusement (enlisting the help of a friend’s account when he couldn’t replay the game on his own). The “weird guy” ending ends up shrinking your poor kid into a cube, while the “call God” ending ends up with the kid lifting the entire planet and FINALLY beating their brother, before confronting their bully and – well, the “Good Ending” screen popped up before anything could happen, but Gray was pretty sure the bully got atomized. XD Ah, Roblox, you are such a delightfully weird mess of a game creator…
4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Substitution check – rather than doing tumblr stuff, I made sure to get all of Moose’s messages from last week answered. Sorry it took me a while, Moose! But yeah, we’ll get back to organizing tumblr queues tomorrow.
*shrug* Yeah -- not particularly exciting, but at least it was productive! AND I have a long weekend to look forward to now -- took both Monday and Tuesday of next week off. :) So yeah, just gotta get through the rest of this week now! Which means I should probably go to bed sooner rather than later. XD Night all!
