-VD2: *shakes head* I'd give up on that "weekend update" if I were you, VampDoc.-
-VD: *sigh*-
-OD: *tentacles chatter scoldingly* Is it really all that hard to write nowadays?-
Yes, sadly enough. I'm distracted and twitchy. I think I've got a mild case of cabin fever or something. Hopefully it'll clear up with a trip to the mall next week. Either that or I'm suffering from BTTF withdrawal again.
-TTV: Can you really get addicted to a movie?-
*everyone looks at him*
-TTV: *awkward, grabs tie* Um -- it's not REALLY an addiction--
-M: Face it, Victor, you're obsessed.-
-TTV: *hangs head in shame*-
Heh, we all have our pet obsessions. Being a Jim Carrey fanboy isn't all that embarrassing. The guy's a superstar, he has lots of fanpeople.
-TTV: *small smile*-
-D: So, what have you been doing?-
Going through the "I Am Not Making This Up" entries on TV Tropes. Stumbling upon a site with skewerings of Terry Goodkind's Sword of Truth series. I'm -- kind of disturbed by some of the quotes they pull from the later books. I rather enjoyed "Wizard's First Rule" and "Stone of Tears" (I even have a ship for the latter), but I kinda lost interest after those. The later books start going downhill. I think the breaking point for me was reading "Temple of the Winds," where Richard gets mad at Kahlan, and thinking, "Hey, wait a minute -- he said in the first book that it was only his pure love for her that kept her Confessor's power at bay. Doesn't this carry the risk of zombifying Richard?" And of course some of the other quotes I've seen now are. . . well, click on the links in here -- twisted ahoy?
-HD: *scowls* Everything has to be filled with angst.-
True Art Is Angsty, didn't you know that?
-DW: I think we were better off when she was overdosing on El Goonish Shive. At least then we had plotbunnies.-
*wince* Sorry. I'm gonna blame part of this on tiredness, though. Might make it a bit of an early night.
-VD: Can you at least pretend to edit?-
I can try, I'm just not at my best after reading stuff like that.
-RPD: What about Changeling? I thought you had some ideas?-
Ergh, I do need to get going on that. I should do something with the notebook this weekend. At least make sure the lists are correct.
-Everyone: *nodnodNOD*-
-TTV: *beat* The what?-
I'll explain in a moment. First I require hot chocolate.
-TD: Don't think about a book series going bad, Vic. Think about Agatha's nifty swiss army knife!-
Hmm, good point. :p
