Much Quieter Monday
Sep. 30th, 2024 11:54 pmWhich I'm glad of, because last night was stress city, unfortunately. :( But today was happily pretty much the opposite in all respects --
Work – Pretty quiet Monday back – quite literally, as my talky coworker had to leave for a dentist appointment in the middle of the day. :p But yeah, I did the GL, I did a bunch of roster maintenance stuff, I took one credit card update call, and I tried not to be too bored by it all. As I always say, “bored” is better than “stressed,” but – still. We’ll see how things go the rest of the week!
To-Do List –
1. Get in a workout: Check – back on the bike today, and back with the GrayStillPlays compilations, starting with “I completed 100 dangerous stunts!” Which, to my delight, is in fact a compilation made up entirely of a bunch of Gray’s old Turbo Dismount videos! :D If I recall correctly, it was one of his Pandemic Year go-tos – it’s one of those 3D bone-breaker games, allowing you to do such things as launch a couch 999 feet into the air with a super-mine, attempt to dodge trains on a motor scooter, and fall down giant pits full of mines riding a pink tricycle. It was great and I didn’t realize until now how much I missed it. But now, I have a whole video full of it! We’re starting with him trying to complete various challenges, such as the ones I just mentioned (along with getting to the end of a horrible multiple-choice city without getting completely brutalized and using the quad-fin fighter to get through multiple layers of trains) – I’m looking forward to seeing what else is in this one! :D
2. Continue editing “Londerland Bloodlines: Downtown Queensland” Chapter 3: Check – Alice found her way to Tin Call Bill today and heard his story about the monster from the sewer with the piss-yellow eyes – and then had to watch as he died in front of her too, hacking and wheezing just like poor Hannah. :( Which means Alice has another victim of the cult to avenge now. Unfortunately, she doesn’t have time to do that TONIGHT, but she will at least tell Jack what happened once she gets away from the homeless folks without raising suspicion. Good thing they already assume she’s with the CDC...
3. Keep up with YouTube Subs: Check – caught up on the Subs with a double-dose of GrayStillPlays tonight, featuring –
A) “Upgrading to the biggest blob in Blob Merge 3D!” Which was Gray playing – well, guess. XD This is a game where you must shoot multicolored blobs with numbers on them at other blobs of the same color and number to combine them and get a mega-blob capable of breaking open the lock on the floor – aaaand then just repeat ad infinitum. XD Like, seriously, you just combine blobs and double their numbers until you open all the locks, then you drop down and have to open bigger locks, over and over again. Gray played until he confirmed that you could get blobs that had a numerical value over one million, and when he stopped, he was facing a four million-value lock. As someone who likes big numbers, Gray appreciated that, though I don’t think he appreciated having to use his brain to both add and figure out where to aim his sticky blobs so they’d actually touch. Or the new skin he got from the store that made his blobs look vaguely tumor-like. XD Nothing much to this one, just some silly fun from Gray playing a very simple and silly game. XD
B) “When you blow the universe itself!” AKA Gray plays Leaf Blower Revolution, aka Gray saw an opportunity for a naughty title he could sneak past YouTube and went for it. XD Anyway, this is a game about clearing leaves from your yard, which gives you leaf currency, which allows you to upgrade the tools you’re using (you start with your bare hands, move on to rakes, then actual leaf blowers, then actual airplane engines, and at one point – a giant paint roller. No, the game doesn’t know how that works either), how many leaves the trees drop, what kinds of leaves the trees drop (they start at basic, and you slowly unlock gold, platinum, bismuth, and void leaves to collect – each of which has its own separate upgrade path), what kind of multipliers you get on your leaves, what kind of fruit you can get to eat to get more leaves, how powerful your combos can get, how many little leaf-blowing roombas you can get (Gray named all of his “Leafonidus”), what locations you can go to (which includes your neighbor’s yard, the mountains, and SPACE) – AND, if you want, you can restart your whole journey to earn a bunch of prestige coins to buy even MORE upgrades! Not to mention there is actually a little quest log covering your character’s journey as a leaf blower that you can read as you unlock more areas. Basically, this game is a LOT more complicated than it first looks – and Gray loved it. We all know this man – if you give him numbers that go up to ridiculous levels, he will be happy, and the numbers on this DEFINITELY went up to ridiculous levels. I mean, granted, he did either buy a bunch of gems or hacked the game at the beginning to get an ability that upped the leaf totals he was getting by 750%, but – still. XD You have never seen a man happier to run around space hitting crabs with a trout and blowing leaves away with a jet engine! (No, I’m NOT going to explain that, go watch the video. XD)
4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Substitution check and check here –
Victor Luvs Alice – Didn’t do anything with my drafts or queue today over there, but I did make sure to reblog some stuff I’d wanted to reblog over the weekend but didn’t get a chance to because of trying to get through other stuff –
A) A post about the sorry state of the Appalachia region hit the hardest by Hurricane Helene, with some links for places you can donate to help them (the pictures are horrifying :( )
B) A picture of some MediEvil fanart my friend Nebby drew, showing Dan giving heart-shaped sugar cookies to Wartilda, Tim, and Kiya (old squeeze, best friend, new squeeze respectively) – and then telling Zarok, his nemesis, that this weird lumpy sugar cookie made him think of him XD
C) A video of some cool “wind horse” puppets (seriously, they were so neat – the faces were so realistic!)
D) A post about wanting to know that your presence is wanted but being afraid/embarrassed to ask, which turned into a bit of a reblog game where you reblog it to let the previous person know their presence is indeed wanted (reblogged it from my friend Newt :) )
E) And a photo post from Satirical Demon showing off his latest plushy acquisition, J from Serial Designation J! *pause, looks up* Oh, wait, no, it looks like that’s the full name of the character, and what she’s from is a webseries called Murder Drones about robots on a far exoplanet, with “Disassembly Drones” trying to kill the “Worker Drones.” She’s one of the antagonists. ...Here’s hoping she gets along with his other plushies then! XD
So THAT’S at least not nothing.
Valice Multiverse – Got the two asks I missed last night put into the queue for today this morning – a follow-up to the “universe comparison ask game” ask where Londerland Bloodlines!Alice and Aperture Wage Slave!Victor were going to try and kill Cave Johnson where it turned out that, thanks to switching with Deb in LB!Alice’s world once and talking to Gomez, Cave had set up “there is a vampire on the premises” alarms in Aperture (AWS!Victor was EXTREMELY annoyed, while LB!Alice had to admit the loud alarms were a very effective way to torment vampires); and an ask from Toonsisters about “Disney Pranks” where she pretended a sleeping Cuddlepile!Victor was Simba and smeared ketchup on his forehead (Smiler and Alice were amused). So that was all right – at least I didn’t miss a day!
*nods* I'm glad that did not take me most of the night! And now it is time for me to head to bed, because I still have the rest of the week to get through. Night all!
