crossover_chick: Victor leaning over to look at a blue butterfly in a glass jar (CB: i has a happy thing)
-->Got up about 8:30 this morning, had an apple for breakfast because I didn't have any muffins nor enough ingredients to make a smoothie. Still, apple was decent enough

-->Got a ride into Providence with Dad since he was heading into the city himself. Hit one major slowdown where they SAID they were filling in potholes but really were just mucking around on the taxpayer dime; also heard a song on the radio I quite like and will be searching for later on iTunes (Walk the Moon's "Shut Up and Dance")

-->Reached mall, wandered around it to get some exercise

-->Dropped by Newbury's -- wasn't really tempted by anything in there beyond the portable version of Wreck This Journal, and even that wasn't strong enough to get me to buy it (mostly curious as to what some of the prompts were)

-->Hit Subway -- used up the rest of my gift card on a Chicken & Bacon Ranch Melt sandwich (om nom nom)

-->Headed into Dave & Buster's, went to recharge card -- and decided, "You know what? I'm making no other major purchases today, and this is the main reason I come to the darn mall." Proceeded to spend 56 dollars on 375 electronic game chips

-->Deal was well worth it -- played a bunch of my favorite games, got a bunch of tickets! Though I ran into problems with two games -- one had a ticket game so it wasn't dispensing; the other took my chips but then didn't let me play the game. Fortunately both were fixed pretty quickly by a maintenance guy, who was also nice enough to get me some free play on the game that tried to cheat me. Also got a coupon after recharging the card that offers to give $20 worth of gameplay chips when I buy $20 worth (so I'd be getting $40 worth for half price, basically) so long as I come back before the beginning of June. Will have to schedule a trip up in May

-->One sad note -- the music kiosk in D&B is gone. No more getting free music :(

-->Hit Pinkberry's afterward for a small chocolate hazelnut with chocolate crispies and chocolate mint cookie pieces, om nom

-->Came out into 58-degree weather; took a longer, more roundabout route to the bus stop as a result to enjoy the warmth :)

-->Took bus straight to local mall to check out the local bookstore and see if I could spend my $25 gift certificate. I was looking for The Amazing Maurice and His Educated Rodents, the first in the Discworld young adult novels (need to start on those, especially since the last Discworld novel ever will be one), but they didn't have it. What they did have was A Blink of the Screen, which is a collection of his short fiction. In hardcover, so it ate up the entire gift certificate, but I don't care. It goes well with Raising Steam, and I really wanted it. :) Barnes & Noble sends enough enough "15% off this weekend" coupons for me to get the other stuff anyway XD

-->Came home, proceeded to alternate between catching up on things and messing around without a plan :P

So yeah, have to say that it was a pretty good day overall. :) Had lots of fun, and it was nice to get out and about on my own terms. Now if only I could coax DragonVale into giving up more of those darn eggs. . .
