Bowling and Burgers
Oct. 3rd, 2015 11:25 pmWell, one burger that was eaten by my dad. . . Despite it being a drizzly, chilly, and generally rather miserable Saturday, the family and I still got out once Mom came home from work. As indicated by the title there, we went to the bowling alley nearby. Haven't been in ages, and it showed -- Mom, with her bum leg, STILL managed to get a higher score than me. XD Dad, of course, blew us both out of the water, having had a lot more experience with the game. My main problem is that I tend to twist my wrist just as I release the ball, meaning half the time I end up aiming for the gutter without meaning to. Meh. . .I still got a 47. I'll take it after not having been in years.
After that, it was to our favorite restaurant, Dunn's Corners, for an early supper. Dad got the aforementioned burger, while Mom and I got a chicken cutlet grinder with mushrooms, cheese, and roasted peppers and a spinach pie that we intended to go halfsies on. However, we'd forgotten just how BIG their portion sizes can be (or, at least, I had), and couple that with getting a large fry for all of us to share. . .well, no surprise my entire half of the grinder (minus one piece of chicken I ate out of it) and about a quarter each of Mom's half of the grinder and spinach pie ended up coming home with us. No big deal, though -- at least one of those containers will be my lunch for tomorrow. :D And it was worth it to skip the grinder for my share of the fries -- tastiest ones in the state, I swear. Though I have to say, my spinach pie, though flavorful, was a little -- flat. As in, the filling seemed to be a surprisingly thin layer of spinach and cheese. Still good and filled me up fine, but I could have SWORN they've had more in them in the past. . .then again, maybe I just ordered them with extra toppings in the past. *shrug*
Rest of the day has been pretty good too. I'm caught up on my Linkara (looney Luke Cage/Iron Fist comic, plus new storyline) and a bit of my Helloween; I got more written on Chapter 19 -- the last new section before I revise the final bit -- and I got in some Sims 4, editing Eric Embers a bit (and discovering he doesn't have a canonical eye color, as he's been depicted with both green AND blue -- I eventually went with blue after looking up the current game icon and realizing that's what he's depicted with there) and creating a close-as-I-can-get-it version of Nikal Koperov to live with him. I even got them moved into a lot, though their house is currently in the "unfinished chunks" stage. :P I might pop in quick to fix that up tomorrow -- though I'm reserving the bulk of my gaming time for BTTF: The Game. Unofficial Backie day and all that.
Anyway, it's almost Sunday, so naturally I'm catching up with all my RPing stuff. Time to do a couple of DW tags before it actually hits midnight. Night all!
Oh, one more thing: Last illustration for "Losing You," Chapter 7 It is feelsy.
