Happy Birthday Clara Clayton!
Feb. 8th, 2016 10:04 pmAnd Jules Verne -- two of the most important people in Doc Brown's life. After all, we've seen a bit of what happens when he's prevented from getting together with Clara in the game. . .
Speaking of BTTF and games, I made two purchases today, since I had the time and the money:
-->The IDW BTTF comics #1, 3, and 4 -- I already own #2 thanks to finding it on a previous Newbury's trip. I've been meaning to grab them for a while, and I figured I might as well just get it done today. Ordered my favorite variant cover of #1 too, with the kiddie versions of Doc, Marty, Jennifer, and Einstein -- seriously, why does no one talk about this cover, IT IS THE CUTEST
-->Portal! Yup, the first game -- I finally bought it. As I believe I mentioned previously, Steam is having a sale for the Lunar New Year (we're in the Year of the Monkey now!), so I figured I'd see if it was reduced.
It was. For 80% off.
I just bought a video game for 2 freaking dollars.
I -- I think I finally get it about Steam Sales, people. XD I've played through a bit of the opening part of the game -- just the first few test chambers. Only have the single Portal Device for now, so the puzzles are pretty easy. I look forward to getting trapped/confused by later ones, though. I know how the game goes, but a) it's been a while since I've watched a walkthrough and b) even then, playing it is an entirely different animal. Still, it's sure to be fun! Probably replay Portal 2 afterwards as well, been a while since I did anything but the challenge rooms.
Other than my purchases, been a pretty low-key day. Watched Linkara's latest ep with my lunch -- Youngblood ranting, always amusing. And next week is All-Star Batman, w000 XD I played some Sims 4 prior to my acquisition of Portal -- Marty got a promotion to Open Mic Seeker, while Jennifer spent most of her day at the Willow Creek park (since all my characters have visited all the community lots I've set up in Newcrest so far). Also had Emmett over, since I want to make sure that friendship stays strong. Caught up on a Corpse Bride AU fic I'm enjoying (Prom Night, which moves all the characters to the American Midwest in the 50s and makes it more a teen comedy about prom shenanigans), and got another chunk of Nebbychan's CinderVictor AU -- Emily's on the scene now, to make all his ball-related dreams come true! Also watched some stuff on the 2015 Cinderella, since the AU involves bits and pieces of that. Certainly looks pretty, I gotta say.
And that's about it, really. We didn't get nearly as much snow as they thought, so my getting a day off was kind of premature, but hell, I'll take a four day weekend (well, closer to three-and-a-half thanks to me not knowing the first day was off). And I've got another three-day one coming up, thanks to President's Day! XD Of course, after that is a bit of a dry spell until we hit Easter at the end of March. . .gotta take advantage of the time I've got while I can.
Right now, though, I gotta get RP replies either answered or queued up -- night all!
