crossover_chick: gif with Doc and Marty trying to get out of being written into twisted AUs (Default)
-->Got up at 8, had an apple and a banana for breakfast, did some fiddling around on the web, then went out and caught the 9:20 bus.

-->9:20 bus almost turned around and started back for Wakefield/Galilee after the train station stop -- fortunately the passengers were more on the ball than the driver, and we got turned back around.

-->Hit the mall at 10:30, headed up to the first level, and found -- LEGOs! The LEGO Americana Roadshow, to be exact. This is a traveling LEGO exhibit featuring models of famous American buildings and such (like the White House, the Capitol, Independence Hall) made by Master Builders, along with some other fun little scenes like construction workers building a giant snowman or a absolutely chaotic cityscape. I got pictures of all the main Americana stuff -- you can see them here and here. Pretty cool, huh? And big -- the Capitol building in particular was huuuuuuuge. Took a hell of a lot of skill, I'd say.

-->After getting all my LEGO pictures, took a stroll through Newbury's. Saw some cool stuff -- like a T-shirt printed with Marty's famous shirt/jean jacket/puffy vest combo for the very low-cost cosplayer -- and got myself a new pack of Minimates with my gift card! BTTF ones, of course -- the "Return to Hill Valley" 30th anniversary set with Griff Tannen, Marty McFly Jr, Marlene McFly, and 47-year-old Marty. Plus Griff's bat and Pit Bull, another Mattel hoverboard, an alternate head and torso so you can make Marty pretending to be Marty Jr (if you don't have the appropriate figure already), a double-duty Greys Sports Almanac/YOU'RE FIRED! fax, and some clear stands designed to make it look like the hoverboards actually hover. I haven't set them up in a proper scene yet, but I'll get you a picture when I do.
In the meantime. . . )

-->Lunch at Subway -- Sweet Onion Chicken Teriyaki. Pretty tasty.

-->Hit Dave & Buster's -- busy, as you might expect for a weekend (and I spotted a birthday party setting up, no less), but I still managed to get a round on all of my favorite games. Even won one free play on a game when I recharged my powercard -- promptly used it on Guitar Hero, since that's the most expensive single-person game there. (The games that are like rides are meant for two people and charge accordingly.) So yeah, good times there.

-->Hit Dairy Queen and got a Brownie Cookie Dough Blizzard -- very tasty.

-->Got to the bus stop with plenty of time to spare, and the bus came right on time. . .and then parked, because they were having problems losing power coming in and needed a mechanic to look at it. And when the mechanic did show up, he said it was too big a problem for him to just fix right there, so we ended up driving to the Elmwood garage and switching buses. So now I know where RIpta buses live. ADVENTURE~

-->Still got home at a decent time (if later than I would have preferred), showed parents the LEGO pictures, unpacked Minimates, then wrote some on "Remembering You." Witless has been smacked down by Alice, but this chapter's going to take a pretty dark turn shortly. Felt it appropriate, even if it means some major character guilt.

-->Supper, finished up my writing, took a shower, then hopped on YouTube a moment to see how to solve that one bit in Test Chamber 15 -- it's a little tricky and requires good timing, but I did it! . . .And then there was a lot more test chamber than expected. Yeah, it's a surprisingly long one, with a lot of "gotta get the timing just right." Managed it in the end, though, and looking forward to moving on to the next bit!

And that pretty much brings us to now, with me working on RP replies. Got a hell of a Helloween marathon tomorrow, though. . .not really a complaint, but I will have to make sure to keep to a schedule. As it is, I've got a thread chain going, so -- g'night!
