An Okay Day Wrapped In Some Suckiness
Jun. 28th, 2016 10:59 pmNamely:
-->Getting out the door today turned into a task and a half when I started second-guessing what shirt to wear with a certain skirt, incorrectly bandaged my ankle to prevent a blister from my chosen shoes (the heel of the left one digs into the back of my foot; right's fine), meaning I got one anyway, put on the problem shoe too tight, and came close to missing my bus (fortunately there's a stop right after the main stop where I can grab it)
-->Work itself was fine -- more checking up on and correcting various problems for people, attending a brief webinar about something I already knew about (wanted to see if there was any fresh info -- not really), and a walk despite the cloudy weather. We also finally got an e-mail we were anticipating -- half-day Fridays are back on for the summer! Starting this Friday, which is great because it's right before a three-day weekend, and we all appreciate a little extra time off there, right? :D
-->And then I get on the bus to go home, and there's TWO accidents (one was cleared up by the time we got to where it happened, but I saw the other -- three-car smashup) plus other slowdowns, meaning I didn't get home until about 6:20 -- and didn't eat until 7 because I decided to get clever and make myself a fruit smoothie to go with supper and ran into some problems with a can of fruit (namely, the tab to open it snapped off). So everything was delayed and blah blah blah.
Despite this, I did watch the week's NC -- Scooby Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed. Tis amusing, though I get the feeling I would have enjoyed the skits more if I'd watched the show they were referencing. Commentary on the movie was good, though, especially when NC started getting more disappointed with how the movie COULD have been good, but was hampered by its own lack of direction. Shame, really.
I also got some more done on Chapter 5 of "In The Land of the Dead" -- up to Bonejangles's introduction, now that I've torn apart the previous wad of exposition and replaced it with -- well, I guess it's still exposition, but it's more interesting to read. I think we're creeping toward the point where I'll stop completely gutting chapters and instead just edit them, but we'll see. You never know what the future might hold.
Unless it's 11:12 PM tonight, in which case the future holds bed. Night all!
