crossover_chick: gif with Doc and Marty trying to get out of being written into twisted AUs (Default)
Heat index apparently went to about 111 degrees F today. D: As you might imagine, I spent most of my day in my room. It was so hot and heavy outside it was just -- yeah. Today was not a day for doing things. Hell, we even had a power blink that Dad's pretty sure was caused by so many air conditioners being run around here. August is not leaving without a fight, let me tell you.

Highlights of my day hiding from the heat and humidity:

-->Finished up edits on Chapter 10 of "In The Land of the Dead!" Response on tumblr was positive to the idea of new chapters too, so next up will be a chapter on Lizzie getting to meet Mrs. Thatcher, and after that a return to Whitechapel as the Liddells find Houndsditch in the underworld and get to know the children there. I'm quite excited to write these -- it's fun to expand on the stories of all these characters, even if they are pretty minor~

-->Played a round of Vampire: The Masquerade -- Bloodlines -- the Ocean House Hotel quest has been completed! Harold the Gangrel had a lot of shit thrown at him, was stalked repeatedly by an axe-wielding ghost, and had to brave evil steam and mystical fire, but got his locket and diary prizes -- along with a new book to increase his dodging skill and the killer's fire axe, so yay. He also got smushed by the elevator once, but thanks to the power of quick-saves, I managed to quickly redo that bit. XD The diary describing what happened is really depressing -- this bastard murdered his wife and children all over a damn locket that the wife repeatedly told him was from her mom. And the woman writing it has no canonical name that I can see. I'm calling her Carol because she deserves a name. *nods* Also, from the look of things, Ed the evil ghost wears a fedora. That's how you know he's a bastard.

-->Watched Linkara review the first chapter of a web comic gone print, Unsounded. Story itself was interesting, though as Linkara himself pointed out, one of the mains is kind of a turd of a little girl. Has some neat characters and monsters, though, and I like the accent Linkara put on for said little girl. XD

-->Watched the Nostalgia Critic talk about the Live-Action Teddy Ruxpin series-that-wasn't (they were going to make one, pilot turned out to be waaaay expensive, they switched to an animated format and aired the pilot as a made-for-TV movie). Took THREE TRIES because YouTube was an utter bitch about letting the thing actually play. Blargle. I finally gave up and watched it on the Vessel player on the site, even though I like that less. Weird-ass show, though seeing the Critic terrified Ruxpin was going to come out and get him again was amusing.

-->Watched Fun With Shorts take on a deeply-depressing short from the 50s, "Have I Told You Lately That I Love You?" It's supposed to be about how "modern" technology is isolating people and turning them into automatons, but honestly I find it hard to blame the technology for the husband and wife basically refusing to interact with each other or their kid. They make every effort NOT to even be in the same room! I said in the comment that my original idea of how the short would play out -- with someone's death and the survivor lamenting that they HADN'T told them they loved them lately -- would probably have been MORE UPBEAT. Seriously, if Josh hadn't been making fun of it every ten seconds. . .

-->Made the eternal mistake of wandering onto TV Tropes, so you know how my afternoon went. :P

-->Caught up with my personal tumblr: have more cute children to end your Saturday/begin your Sunday

-->And now I'm doing RP stuff on Forgotten Vows~

So yeah, a shut-in Saturday, but arguably a productive one too. Let's see if Sunday will be the same! Night all!
