Slightly Slow Friday
Sep. 2nd, 2016 10:59 pmMostly because I've almost finished up all of the "regular" roster maintenance, so I'm starting to run out of things to do. Granted, we have other stuff that needs to be gone through, so I'm not TOTALLY lacking for work, it's just -- this is a quiet time, and it can make the day drag. Happily I got in at 8 (though there was some traffic near the city that really made me worry), so I was able to get out at one and catch the 1:15 bus home. And now I have three days off!
Two of which could involve a possible hurricane! Yeah, looks like Hermine might be determined to give us a bad time. I'm really hoping not -- from what I saw in the paper/on MSN, it's smacked down Florida, and I'm not keen on losing power or internet. Makes me wonder if my unusually-thorough queue was some sort of premonition. . . . So far, nothing's supposed to happen until Sunday night. I'm just gonna try and enjoy my Saturday and not worry about it too much. Fingers crossed it heads in another direction, people!
Chapter 12 of "In The Land of the Dead" continues -- the gang is in Houndsditch, and are slightly puzzled by the fact that it doesn't look immediately horrible, just a little run-down. I don't think this is going to end up being a particularly long chapter -- it's mainly to set up that Lizzie and Bonejangles know and are friendly with the dead Houndsditch kids, to explain how the little ones knew her in the last chapter. But it should be a nice write regardless -- I already plan to end it on storybook cuteness. :) And a fairly short chapter means getting to the editing passes quicker and getting my story update schedule back on track. I want to post more of "Remembering You" before the year is out.
And, as usual, played some Vampire today -- Harry the Gangrel got to Downtown, was saved by Nines, then spent way too long looking for the Tremere Chantry when it was technically right in front of me (or, rather, right behind him -- I knew if I found a certain symbol I was in the right place, but for some reason the fact that the building was DIRECTLY ACROSS THE STREET escaped me). I ended up giving up for a while and going to The Last Round -- chatted with Jack for a bit about Anarchs and Camarilla, then did the same with with Nines. Managed to offend him with a dialogue option that I thought he'd take as a joke (the other one was calling him "prince," and I didn't think he'd take kindly to that either). Weirdly enough, I managed to get along pretty well with the other two chatty Anarchs -- including Damsel, who is a notorious bitch. Got some new quests from them (including the Patty one, time to lose some Humanity), then FINALLY found the Chantry and got to know Maximillian Strauss. He technically gave me the same quest as Damsel, but you get a unique reward for doing it for him, so you really want to have both open. The more XP, the better!
Not much else to say at the moment -- just did Butterfly Boy's queue, so I'm gonna finish up some other replies. Night all!
