crossover_chick: Doc in goggles and holding a big old plug with the words "feeling sparky..." (BTTF: feeling sparky/creative)
Nope, we don't have a lightning storm going on outside, though that would be deeply appropriate for the day. :D Just noting that the one moment that is show in all three parts of the trilogy is the lightning strike at the clock tower, November 12th, 1955. This is the day that the movies revolve around, and it must be celebrated appropriately!

Consequently, today was Part III day! I may have mentioned before that I decided to watch the movies in chronological order this year, instead of corresponding to the month most shown in it (which means you end up watching the trilogy backwards), since I haven't actually watched them in order in a while. III was as good as it always is -- though I have a new appreciation for Clara after the comics expanded her character more. I love the new BTTF expanded universe; it gives the rather neglected female members of the cast so much more love. :)

I also played Sims 4 today, largely because it was Emmett day! He had a good day at work -- successfully mixed up a few potions and invented the Sim Ray! Which already looks like loads of fun, especially with its "Transform" option. I also got him a chess table so he could finally work on his logic skill properly. Poor Simmy will not be stuck in a rut regarding his aspiration any longer!

And I also read this fun little fanfiction: The Strangeness of Marty McFly, about minor characters from the trilogy (currently Goldie Wilson, the Starlighters, and the Western Union Guy) reacting to meeting Marty back in the 50s. It's rare to find good BTTF fic on FF.net anymore, so this was a pleasant surprise. :)

In non-BTTF related news, had another driving lesson, out on some pretty twisty and turny roads. I actually did quite well -- I'm finally getting a knack for keeping my speed up, and while I veered slightly off the road once (accidentally spent a little too much time looking at the odometer), it was just into a small gravel patch and nothing happened. Hell, some jerk actually tried to shove me out of the way when I was coming out of a driveway, and nothing happened. So yeah, good lesson today. Mom's planning some highway time tomorrow -- I'm kinda nervous, but just reminding myself it's the same as residential streets, only faster. *nods*

I also did another couple of pages on Chapter 5 -- Alice (or, well, June, technically) has finally discovered Mr. Bunny in the piano! And had a crying fit over it because it just reminds her of how much she and Victor have both lost with his amnesia. Most of the chapter is going to be Victoria making her tea to help calm her down and them having a chat -- with some creepy added in at the end, along with the first Victor POV section! Did anyone ever notice that I tried to keep Victor and Alice's POVs relatively balanced in "Finding You" and the first bits of "Forgetting You," then went all Alice after Victor got mindraped by Bumby? And now I'm gradually going to be reintroducing Victor's POV as he recovers from the mindrape. I thought it was a nice touch.

Aaand I watched Helloween show off a kinda-steampunky park he built in Planet Coaster (it was cool!), plus a Fun With Shorts that got copyright-claimed on YouTube via a Vimeo link -- and it's a damn shame, because the short (actually three shorts) is totally cringe-worthy and has some great riffs. I don't even know which bit of the music spurred the claim! Ah well, at least I still got to see it.

And now I'm catching up with tumblr and will probably do the RP thing. So yeah, time to get going over there. G'night all, and remember, the future is what you make it!
