Back To Normality -- Sort Of
Jan. 2nd, 2018 11:30 pmBecause there's a potentially big snowstorm on the horizon (morning forecast for Thursday was between 4 and 8 inches; evening forecast was 6 to 12 inches), so this week might be shorter than first expected. Part of me does not mind the extra time off; part of me is not looking forward to possibly being buried in snow. Especially since it's also supposed to be windy as all get out. . .we'll see what happens, I guess.
As it stood, today was a decent ease back into working life. I spent a lot of my day either catching up on my e-mail backlog, or working on CAP stuff (that's ramping up again -- new lady wants to do bimonthly e-mail blasts, yikes). Got a big list of e-mails I have to clean up. . .and a tech support chat I have to do tomorrow to figure out why I can't download CSV files from a certain part of our site when I could before. *grumbles* Hopefully it's an easy fix, especially since I'm kind of the e-mail person at work. . . Fingers crossed!
Evening has been pretty quiet, although I've been fighting the urge to rewatch The Sim Supply's "Vampires" LP now that I've got a vampire in my own game. *facepalm* Fortunately I've found a different one by his friend Deligracy to try out this weekend, so that should soothe my vampiric desires. (Well, that and getting the chance to level up Alice and mesmerize Victor again.) I also had an idea about Victor's eventual vampire Dark Form, which means I think I AM going to make him super-pale in "Manage Households" if it'll let me. You see, vampires are technically dead, and the game shipped with a blue skintone. . . ;)
Major accomplishments of the night:
-->Writing just under two pages on "Secundus 2," finishing up the villains introducing themselves to each other. I WAS going to keep the main bad guy a secret in the fic until the climax, but -- having a section explicitly from the villain's POV makes that a bit silly, honestly. Shouldn't detract any from the characters eventually finding out.
-->Doing another huge ValiceMultiverse queue -- I actually filled up my 14 slots! (Admittedly, the last one was a piece of fanart I'd meant to reblog earlier, but still.) Kinda hoping the anon people ease up slightly -- it's a bit much to handle, sometimes.
-->Drafting out another update for the Newcrest Van Dorts so it'll be ready to go next week -- I'm trying to get a bunch done in advance so the events are still semi-fresh in my mind. Also it makes queuing a hell of a lot easier.
So yeah, that was good. And now time to wrap things up and hit the sheets -- still got work tomorrow for sure! Night all -- let's see what happens with this snow!
