On My Feet Monday
Jan. 8th, 2018 11:26 pmMostly because I spent a good chunk of my day clearing out old roster maintenance to make room for the new stuff coming in. New year, new things to change. . . It did require a lot of standing in front of drawers and bending down, though. Felt like I got some exercise today, gotta say. Probably for the best -- I've been eating a lot of candy and other junk lately. Gotta work on getting my weight back down. ^^; Also did some e-mails for my boss -- one of them I had to tweak like four times because of a strange formatting glitch where words would just not stop running off the edge of the e-mail. My supervisor and I managed to fix it in the end, but it was a bit of a struggle. Still, the boss said it looked great once we did, so that's nice. Good to be appreciated.
Traffic is already looking pretty miserable this week -- Dad and I had to cut through the city AGAIN to get home thanks to heavy traffic up to the highway. It seems to be mainly the fault of a poorly-plowed intersection -- a lane that should have the option of turning or going straight now is just a turning lane thanks to a pile of snow, and everybody has to get over if they're going straight, and -- yeah, traffic snarls up the wazoo. Not to mention there seems to be accidents everywhere. Ugh. I saw online a bit ago that RI drivers are supposedly the BEST in the US -- I'll take "Things Which Are Patently Untrue" for $500, Alex! Admittedly, we don't have some of the traffic problems states like California do, but I severely doubt we're the best.
Evening has been pretty quiet -- got a gift fic written up for a friend who has a birthday on Wednesday! :D Also listened to some music, and tried to watch an episode of "Dirk Gently" that was put on YouTube, but gave up when it became apparent that it was a) pretty poor quality (480p!) and b) missing tiny clips here and there. Which, in a show like Dirk Gently, is not good as you gotta pay attention to everything. Since I doubt my parents are going to be amendable to paying for Netflix again just for this, looks like I'm going to have to order it myself somewhere else. *looks at the two Amazon gift cards she now owns* Which -- well, should be doable.
And -- well, that's about it, basically. Not the most exciting Monday, but it's a decent start to the week, I guess. Except for the traffic. Fingers crossed that's a bit better tomorrow. . . Anyway, should go ahead and get my sleep on. Five day work week this week, and I've got a CAP workshop tomorrow. Shorter one, but still. Night all!
