Blizzard Acoming
Mar. 12th, 2018 11:24 pmOr, well, it's just a Winter Storm for most of us, but I think anything that has the potential to dump over a foot of snow on you deserves the appellation of "blizzard." And hey, nearby parts of Mass have a blizzard warning, soooo. . . Prov is apparently destined for about 15 inches -- I dunno how much we'll get, but seeing as we're fairly close by, probably a fair bit. Work's closed for the day, as have all the schools and suchlike. Nobody wants to take chances, and I don't blame them.
Work itself was pretty rough today -- I spent a good chunk of it trying to puzzle out some numbers for the capital campaign from a parish that started early. Then I had to put on three stock gifts in quick succession (and show my coworkers how to write the acknowledgement letter), take a BUNCH of phone calls, deal with a scheduling thing -- basically it turned into another day of "everyone wants Vicky's attention." Rather glad I don't have to go in tomorrow, even though it promises to make the rest of the week rather madcap. Will cross that bridge when I come to it.
Mom's eye surgery went off today -- it went fine. Now we're in the phase where Mom has to basically keep her head pointed to the ground at all times so her retina heals properly. Dad's been carving up boxes into little face-holders for her so she can try to look at her phone or something at least, with varying degrees of success. I spent a lot of the evening helping out where I could. Feel bad for her -- and really hoping I never need anything like that surgery. It seems a huge pain in the ass. I mean, better than having a detached retina, I suppose, but still.
Constantly bopping around trying to lend a hand with Mom meant no "Fixing You" today -- I instead opted to edit an "Imagine Me And You" short that I should be posting later this week. And even that took ages because of said bopping around. After that, watched a RabbidLuigi list about worst video game communities (makes me glad I'm not a multiplayer person), and then the rest of the evening has been about catching up on things in various ways. Gonna clean out the last things in my inbox now, then. . .dunno. Maybe I'll watch another video or two, or work on my VictorLuvsAlice queue. We'll see. For now, night!
