Rough Work Day
Apr. 6th, 2018 11:18 pmMostly because I feel like I accomplished very little while at the same time working my ass off. It's largely my own fault, sadly -- I had to do a certain export today, and while I THOUGHT I had it all covered, I ended up having to redo it THREE TIMES because I kept messing up little things. And this was a HUGE export that took AGES to actually, er, export, so. . .finally got the raw data, but actually cleaning it up and getting it out will have to wait until Monday. Didn't help that I was being continually interrupted for one reason or another. . . I DID at least make a bit of progress with the parish that has some screwed-up stuff in its capital campaign. Fixed a few issues here and there, identified stuff that needs to go on, that sort of thing. And we're inching closer to getting their payments and our money received to match up. Fingers crossed that by next week we can be done with this nonsense!
One highlight of the whole workday experience? Traffic both in and out of the Diocese was practically nonexistent. I haven't gotten home in about fifteen minutes in AGES. Wish that happened every day. . .or at least every Friday. Don't think I'll be that lucky, though.
Evening's been better -- I'm eschewing tumblr RP tonight, as I'm not in the mood and it's been really slow there anyhow. Wrote some more on "Fixing You" -- was quite satisfying to write Nell trying to tear into Victor, and both Victor and Alice telling her to shut her yap. Good way to channel my job frustration too. . . Then I watched another episode of "Super Sim" (James makes a literal "fight club" to fight with people and complete more of the Public Enemy aspiration -- he also drowns an unfortunate woman to have Max witness a death; Max successfully discusses grilled cheese with the Grim Reaper but it turns out it doesn't count because he wasn't on the right level of the Grilled Cheese aspiration, aaaaah) -- also watched James reading comments on his fake "Sims 5" trailer (which I had thought was a joke by someone else that he playfully overacted to -- didn't realize he'd made it himself!). Did the usual rounds of catching up on stuff, and plopped a few things into my VictorLuvsAlice queue (also discovered the song "Uptown Girl" is sung by Billy Joel, which is a fact that has somehow eluded me my whole life -- look, it doesn't sound like I'm used to him sounding!). Then I listened to some 80s classics because I had a stressful day and why not? I rarely listen to music over the YouTubes anymore. Kinda miss it.
Anyway -- gonna go answer the DW RP comment of the night, then maybe watch another episode of "Super Sim." Tomorrow I have to schedule a Helloween marathon, though -- he's got another four-part, over-an-hour-long Deadly Premonition set, which means I've got TWO to watch now! Not really complaining, admittedly, but still -- gotta block out the time carefully there. Especially since Bayonetta 2 posts tomorrow and that could be anywhere from a half hour to an hour long. We'll see what happens! For now night all!
