Sunday Eating
Jul. 8th, 2018 11:18 pmYeah, it was kind of a foodsplosion at my aunt's place -- pita chips and cut-up vegetables with hummus, grilled chicken, grilled burgers, fennel salad, veggie salad, baked beans, corn on the cob, and chocolate peanut butter oatmeal cookies. Plus my mom brought some spinach pies and my cousin and his girlfriend brought homemade fruit and vegetable popsicles (yes, fruit and VEGETABLE -- lime/cucumber, and pineapple/mango/basil). So, um, yeah, plenty to eat there. O.o I ended up having two spinach pies, two small pieces of chicken, some vegetables and pita chips (with a bit of hummus), a corn on the cob, a bit of the fennel salad (which I found rather bland), a pineapple/mango/basil (which I ate all of to be polite, but oh God no) and a cookie (which was mostly dark chocolate and really rich). We all had a very late, very light supper of sandwiches after all that.
But it was a decent enough afternoon -- we all sat on the back patio at my aunt's place and talked for a good few hours. Well, my PARENTS talked -- I'm not that good at social stuff and generally just sat around listening to everyone else and watching my cousin's cat trying to escape her leash. But it was a nice day, and most of the food was good, and it was nice to see my aunt and uncle again. Can't really complain.
Of course, that means I didn't get a chance to do a lot online. I focused my efforts on three things:
-->Writing: just a little on some private AU stuff, since that's fairly easy to bang out in a limited amount of time
-->Helloween: Caught up on his last set of Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes, which had a surprisingly sweet and heartfelt ending (and the reveal of Snake's ACTUAL NAME, which is something I'd never really thought about -- it's his original voice actor's name, David); and his next set of Resident Evil 4 --Leon is now wrapped up in terrible culty business and looks to have been infected with some sort of zombifying agent -- you know, typical Tuesday in RE Land. There's also a former Spanish cop, Luis, that we've saved and is now running around causing the cult trouble -- good, gives Leon time to shoot blue medallions and solve weirdass puzzles. Also he got his head cut off a lot by a chainsaw dude because Helloween couldn't get the timing right to keep chainsaw dude down for the life of him XD
-->Tumblr Queues: Got the one for the ValiceMultiverse done, and prepped for doing Wednesday's Sims post by getting my pictures done -- last one before I get to actually show off Seasons with my OTP! :D (Er, in case you're unaware, my Sims posts on tumblr are a few weeks behind because I tend to try and keep a little ahead in case I have to stop playing for a while for some reason. Like, say, a new expansion pack coming out. XD)
So yeah, at least I got some stuff done. Would have liked to have fit a bit more of Minerva's Den in there, or some more Sim Supply videos, but can't have everything. *shrug* Time to empty out the inbox and go to bed, me thinks -- got a full week of work coming up! Or, well, ALMOST full. *grins at the half-day Friday* I love summer. Night!
