Have I Mentioned Lately I Hate Tuesdays?
Aug. 7th, 2018 11:32 pmSeriously, today was a fairly bad Tuesday, both for me and everyone around me:
-->Hit the WORST traffic I've seen in a long time on both the main drag and the highway -- there was some road work going on on the former, but the traffic extended way past that, and I have NO clue why everything was so slow on the highway. Either way, got to work about a half-hour late and ended up carving the time out of my lunch break.
-->My coworker, on the other hand, had to literally break into her house to get a set of spare keys after locking hers in the car before a doctor's appointment, so yeah.
-->And my parents spent pretty much the entire day out at my mother's eye doctor appointment and had to pay quite a bit for new glasses for her, which she's still getting used to.
-->Work was thankfully quiet, though I got started on the project I meant to do (the parish with the Faith Direct payments) later than intended thanks to both my own lateness and my coworker coming in later because of her doctor's appointment. My other coworker also roped us into going down to the basement to mark stuff that could be shredded, and we found out one of the people who left was basically hoarding old outdated supplies down there. We found old movie reels like you'd put on a projector, for cripes' sake. And two boxes full of unopened pens. It was weird.
-->Came home -- only to discover that the garage door wouldn't open. Thought it was something to do with the remote, but nope -- turns out we'd lost power about an hour earlier, when my parents finally got home from the eye doctor. This on one of the hottest days of the summer (another 90F-but-feels-like-100F day). They went out to pick up some supplies (and bring back some water that really tasted weird) while I amused myself with my iPad -- fortunately, about 5:25 or so, the power came back on, which meant we could get the air conditioners running again. I did end up missing out on my workout because of this, but I've decided it's not worth stressing out over.
-->Still no Helloween (looks like took some time off to attend a concert, if his twitter is anything to go by -- rock on, Hells), so I watched a Sim Supply house build (based off a cool-looking house he found on an architectural website -- it was very nicely done), the latest "Atop The Fourth Wall" (another trip to the 2099 line, with the Ravager -- a very stupid garbage-themed superhero -- and Dethstryk -- a surprisingly interesting villain despite his stupid name), and a new Hitman contract (starring Andy and Jane trying to electrocute a Texan and not having a lot of luck. Also features many people getting hit in the head with various tools). Best part of the day really.
-->Friend on tumblr showed me a semi-freaky looking picture of a person whose eyes and mouth had been deformed (supposed to look like a Japanese Yokai I believe) -- fortunately, this was followed by her sharing drawings of the freaky thing in poses based off Kermit the Frog, so that really killed the spook factor XD
-->Busy day over on ValiceMultiverse -- I had six asks this morning! Fortunately I have managed to get through everything and have filled up the queue there, so go me.
And now I just have to answer the things in my inbox and go to bed. Here's hoping tomorrow's better. Night all!
