Indecisive Weather Sunday
Aug. 12th, 2018 11:16 pmZoo trip ended up not happening as, because of the inclement weather forecast, they closed down a lot of stuff (Mom looked up their website and saw the news). We toyed with the idea of going out mini-golfing somewhere when it started clearing up around lunchtime. . .but then, as we finished lunch, we realized it was raining again. And then it proceeded to do that the rest of the day -- short periods of sun, followed by short downpours and clouds. It was rather frustrating. And as we couldn't find anything indoors that either appealed to us or could be done on short notice, we ended up hanging around the house again.
Not that I particularly minded -- going out would have been nice, but having a lazy day at home isn't exactly bad either. And I actually got a fair amount done, despite constantly popping back onto TV Tropes to read the Bloodlines page:
-->Started edits on Chapter 4 of "Fixing You!" This one is currently another shorter chapter, so it shouldn't take me so long to do. It is, however, one of the more unpleasant chapters, as we open with a nightmare from Victor that I personally think is pretty freaking creepy. The warnings shall be slapped on this one. I suppose it does give you a very good look at just what's bothering him in this story. . .
-->Caught up on "Rags to Riches Seasons" from The Sim Supply! By pure random chance in picking Patchy's pockets, James FINALLY got his longed-for orchids. And then proceeded to be mildly salty about the whole thing because he did SO MUCH GRAFTING. . . XD And now they only produce one flower a day, it looks like, which is kind of nonsensical to me but never mind. Fortunately for Sebastian Bigwallet and family, rarity equals value -- Seb was able to sell his first orchid-based arrangement for just over $10,000! So yeah, James has planted a bunch of those now, and hopefully soon the money will just be rolling in for this family. Also, James has developed a hatred of Lady II for being glitchy and never on the same schedule as the rest of her family. XD And he's planning on bringing Benedryl Crumplebottom back via ambrosia, once he gathers all the ingredients and gets Luna (the cook of the family) up to the appropriate Gourmet Cooking level. Plus he's handling holidays (everyone had a decent Halloween, and Luna ROCKED the Neighborhood Brawl) and scouting (Raggy has one badge left to go!), and planning some minor renovations to the house. Basically, he is KEEPING BUSY. XD
-->FINALLY finished the Van Dorts' new place in The Sims 4! I basically ended up with a good chunk of time before dinner, and decided I wasn't stopping until I got everything in and arranged how I wanted it. Took some time (especially as I rearranged the upstairs bathroom YET AGAIN -- I decided I wanted a different sink set-up), but FINALLY everything more or less fell into place. There's still maybe one or two tweaks I'd like to make (like putting curtains on a window that currently has none because it'll clip into Emma's activity table, and eventually adding a pool to the backyard), but that stuff will wait until I've actually played the family and earned some money (I am SO worried about their bills. . .). Of course, since screenshots are STILL BUGGED, who knows when that'll be. *grumbles* I actually took a couple of the outside of the house just to have something to post on Wednesday, but -- it really annoys me that this has been going on for TWO WEEKS now. I don't want to have to use some extra-steps workaround -- I want to press the "C" key and have my pictures be the same quality as the game. *sigh* Maybe something will happen this week. . .
And -- huh, that's actually about it. Though that house thing DID take a long while, soo. . .as did watching all those Sim videos. Ah well, weekend during a vacation. I can take the time. And I got a sundae tonight courtesy of Mom, so that was nice too (we were going to go out for ice cream, but between the rain and most of the ice cream places around here being stalls where you sit around outside instead of actual restaurants. . .). Just gonna empty out the inbox, then bum around until bedtime again. Hopefully the weather will actually improve, instead of just teasing us and then pouring rain again. Hmph. Night all!
