Southwick Zoo Is On Tomorrow!
Aug. 13th, 2018 11:18 pmThere's still a small chance of rain, at least in our neck of the woods, but it's actually looking like most of the day will be dry and sunny, so yay there. FINALLY getting to do one of our trips! And the weather improves (sort of; looks like we're getting muggy and hot again) throughout the rest of the week, so Kimball Farms mini-golf and Canobie Lake are still on too; just on different days. (Canobie will actually now be the last day of my vacation, barring any changes in weather on Saturday that removes the threat of scattered showers and thunderstorms). I am relieved -- while I don't mind sitting around the house too much, I was looking forward to doing some stuff, and we're all heartily sick of the rain. Particularly with how miserable it was today -- off and on downpours again, without even a hint of sun. Meh. Will be glad to see the end of THAT, at least.
More good news: new Sims 4 patch this Thursday! With confirmation that it addresses the blurry screenshot issue! Fucking FINALLY. . .also new CAS stuff but I genuinely don't care. Just give me back the ability to actually SHARE my Sims with people. I went ahead and used my emergency blurry screenshots of the new house for a Wednesday post this week (along with a post about "hey, what do you guys like for Mods/CC?" because I've been seeing some interesting stuff on SimsVIP and wouldn't mind other recommendations before I do any downloading), but hopefully next week I can get back on schedule! Spent my time doing more building projects today -- working on my Oasis Springs Water Park! Ended up demolishing everything I did last time and redoing it with a clearer "floor plan." New plan divides the park into four quarters -- Slide Row (which has a bunch of water slides), Pirate Playground (which has the playground equipment and some sprinklers/fountain stuff), Pool Party (which will have a proper pool and kiddie pools), and -- well, I don't have a name for it, but it has the main kiosk, bathrooms and showers, and a food stall. Still not quite done, but it's a lot further along than it was. Again, after Thursday I might actually be able to share pictures.
Other things of note today:
-->Edited some more Chapter 4 of "Fixing You" -- this one's going fast, mostly because I'm actually pretty satisfied with a lot of the writing, and it's short. I might actually have two weeks of updates in a row on this story if I keep up this pace! I know Chapter 5 is significantly longer, though, so don't get used to it.
-->Watched Helloween's latest RE4 set -- Leon and Ashley got to ride the castle "tram system," Ashley was kidnapped by bugs, Leon had an awful time dealing with said bugs, and then proceeded to have a worse time dealing with a bunch of Los Illuminados in a clock tower. And then after he died Helloween ended up reloading an earlier save to get a treasure he'd missed. And the commenters are now telling him he missed one even EARLIER, so we'll see how he responds to that.
-->Watched the latest Atop The Fourth Wall -- the Kool-Aid Man Returns! And has adventures in TIME TRAVEL of all things. Helping save the Boston Tea Party from his enemies the Thirsties -- who seem to believe it was an actual tea party where people drank the stuff, instead of chucking it in the harbor. *facepalm* Dumb, but ultimately harmless, I suppose.
-->Also watched a RabbidLuigi list about the worst video game industry mistakes (this included the famous Crash of 1983 that almost killed the console market and Nintendo accidentally inspiring Sony to make the Playstation by screwing them in a business deal) and a quick renovation video by The Sim Supply of Sebastian Bigwallet's flower shop (well, sort of -- James's main goal was to build up the rest of the lot to make it look like the flower shop was just part of a larger selection of stores, which was pretty cool. But the flower shop got some nice decorations too, so that was fun). And a couple of videos about the history of the earth in general and of Japan in specific which were both amazingly done and very poorly done (for comedic purposes). Great stuff. XD
And currently I'm updating my tumblr queue so I don't have to worry about it tomorrow evening, as I probably won't be much in the mood then. Still gotta empty out the inbox too. . .and then head to bed a little earlier, as I gotta be up by 8:30 to give myself some time to eat breakfast and get ready to go out and about. *nods* So yeah -- night all!
