Fairly Gloomy Saturday
Sep. 8th, 2018 11:20 pmJust weather-wise, admittedly -- it just got cloudier and cloudier as the day went on. We were gonna go up to Lincoln Woods for a walk, but Mom saw rain moving in, so we ended up scrapping that plan. Shame -- it's nice up there. It was also much cooler -- I ended up having to put on long pants for the afternoon! Just that bit too cold! And I'm sure I'll have to do the same tomorrow -- highs are only supposed to be in the 60s. I don't suppose we could have a SMOOTH transition into fall, instead of "heatwave followed by a temperature crash?" *shakehead*
Other than that, though, I had a pretty good day. Highlights included:
-->Getting another piece of "The Technicolor Phase" edited -- the end of the rewritten Corpse Bride stuff, where Emily, Victor, and Victoria officially become a triad. :) Next up is getting back into the Alice verse -- I have plans for a new addition centered around Alice shoving Bumby into that train. >D
-->Playing a very long session of BioShock Infinite -- I really wanted to get to the point where Booker met Elizabeth (she is already a sweetheart and I love her and her fashion sense), and then it was just a matter of finding a good checkpoint. . . But it's still a very fun game. The Skylines are like little rollercoaster sections, it's wild. And "Murder of Crows" is fast becoming a favorite vigor -- it's just so GOOD for getting enemies off my back! So far, a worthy successor to the delightfully broken "Insect Swarm" plasmid. On the creepier side of things, we have the lab where Elizabeth has been locked up all her life, with its one-way windows and various -- experiment rooms. . . *shudder* Trust me, some of the stuff you see in there is SUPER creepy. The machinery is fascinating, but some of what it's doing. . .yikes. And there's an interesting second layer to the racism present in Columbia -- namely, the "bad" areas are for black people -- and Irish people. I mean, it's totally accurate for the time period -- the Irish were hated as immigrants when they first started coming over -- but it's pretty interesting to see that laid out so specifically on the signs. Columbia remains a joy to look at, but damn, do you wish that different people were populating it. (Also, just as an aside -- I think one of the guys in the beach area was trying to hit on Booker. XD)
-->Watching the latest Metroid Prime set from Helloween -- Samus has gotten herself a Thermal Visor (so she can wreck invisible enemies and see in the dark); fought a rock creature for the Spider Ball (so her morph ball form can travel on magnetized tracks to find more goodies); and picked up the Ice Beam right before Helloween stopped (so she can blast fools with cold as well as regular power gun stuff and electricity). Plus an upgrade for the Wave Beam that just wrecks people, at the expense of your missiles. Slowly but surely proving herself the hero worthy of kicking Space Pirate ass and stopping the "Great Poison" from wrecking Tallon IV! Go Sammy :)
-->Watching another episode of Call Me Kevin's Sims 4 stuff -- Jim Pickens has graduated from the apartment to an actual house, and is getting into his stride. Said stride being trapping people in the basement to paint and suffer. XD Good stuff, I'm for it.
-->Getting up another Scene From Secundus: cozy! Took a lot less time than the last couple, since I didn't feel the need to basically completely rewrite this one XD
-->Getting my queue ready on VictorLuvsAlice and posting this neat picture someone submitted of her and her boyfriend cosplaying Valice at a comic con! :D That is seriously awesome, that people love my pairing enough to dress up as the two together.
-->And now I'm doing a bit of the RP thing and answering messages. Typical Saturday night, really.
So yeah, can't complain. I do hope that the weather improves a little tomorrow, though -- I would like a walk outside while I still can. Keep your fingers crossed, folks! And until then, g'night!
