Mostly down to two major factors:

1) I made the mistake of going on TV Tropes and getting REALLY sucked into its Twilight Zone (original series) section, then getting sucked into the pages on "The Reason You Suck" speeches. This was an on and off thing for most of the day -- I managed to tear myself away a few times, but it wasn't until this evening that I started seriously doing other stuff.

2) When I finally started actually trying to get said some stuff done, the Internet went out. AGAIN. I'm TRYING to give my provider the benefit of the doubt, as we ended up having some VERY high winds today, but -- we seem to be suffering outages of some shape or form REALLY FUCKING OFTEN lately. I don't know if it's them, if it's our router/modem dealie being a little bastard, or what. All I know is that I'm sick of it, but since the only other internet provider around here, Verizon, is also known for being a little bitch (we found this out when we considered switching providers after moving -- I believe they're more expensive for slower internet) -- what can we do? *huff* Really annoying.

I did, against all odds, manage to get a few things done:

-->My usual room clean

-->Editing on the final Valice Shipping Week short (though it's technically a Vemilicia one -- but hey, it's my week and my fanfics, and I said that was okay :p)

-->Catching up on a few of my YouTube videos:

1) Helloween finishing up Earthworm Jim, full of the usual frustration over the unfair difficulty and sadness over his nostalgia filter being thoroughly wrecked (the game was a childhood favorite of his, apparently). At least he managed to complete the game despite it all.

2) Helloween showing off the new Agony Unrated, an updated version of Agony with new playing modes and some better graphics. Which, considering this is a game set in a very visceral, disturbing version of Hell akin to Queensland in the Alice games. . .kudos to the designers for staying very true to their vision, but their vision is likely to give me nightmares, so I think I'll be skipping any further videos he makes on it. *shudder*

3) Atop The Fourth Wall's Halloween episode -- which, sort of amusingly, was a comic adaptation of the third Hellraiser movie, meaning it was the perfect follow-up to #2. Turned out to be not that bad! I mean, it was a fairly dumb adaptation of a fairly dumb movie, but it actually improved upon its source material a bit, leaving Linkara impressed. The storyline was also wrapped up nicely -- the man behind the man has been defeated, and in a pretty clever way, and it ended on a very positive note of looking forward to the next adventure. :) Good stuff.

-->And, once the internet went out, I realized this was a good opportunity to get caught up on my Sims pictures again, so I prepped those (another three-part update)

So yeah, not a complete wash-out of a day (I've had those -- again, mostly due to TV Tropes), but I really wish I'd been able to accomplish a bit more. Though, on the other hand, if I'm going to have a day like this, might as well be in the middle of a four-day weekend, right? *shrug* Still, would have been nice for the internet to just STAY ON when I finally got in the brainspace to do things. . . We'll see if I can make anything better of my Sunday. Do get the extra hour from "fall back" tonight. . . Night all!

I happily seemed to have TV Tropes-ed myself out the other day -- and having the "fall back" portion of Daylight Savings on my side helped matters too, since it allowed me to technically get up earlier. Managed to get a lot more done today:

-->Played BioShock Infinite -- after much looting and killing of guards, we found our gunsmith unfortunately already dead from the wounds inflicted on him by his captors. However, we also found a tear that -- well, I thought these things took you into other realities, but when Elizabeth opened it, it seems to have OVERWROTE the reality we were in? Not only is the gunsmith alive (courtesy of marrying a different woman, it appears), two guards I killed are too -- except they seem to recall being dead? And the gunsmith, Lin, is glitching in a disturbing way. . . At any rate, we're currently in Shantytown, trying to recover Lin's tools so he can make the guns for Fitzroy. Got to do a nice thing with the tears for once by pulling in some food from another reality to feed some desperate starving people. (I of course immediately took all the money from the vending machine they were tearing apart, but still.) I'm honestly surprised I haven't come across another Vigor yet -- not that I've been using much of anything beyond Murder of Crows and Shock Jockey, admittedly. They're both way too good to ignore. We'll see what happens when we reach the police station.

-->Also played Sims 4! Yup, managed a double today! Had my first Winterfest with the McFly family -- which turned into a logistical nightmare by the end as I tried to coordinate everyone to do things like decorating the tree and opening presents together. Marlene actually got to open TWO gifts as, for unknown reasons, her first one didn't count for the "opening presents" tradition. Kind of frustrating, I have to say! At least I managed to make it so everyone had an excellent holiday, and they got some nice stuff from their prezzies, so. . . Did NOT get a chance to grow up Douglas, though. Looks like I'm staying with the family one extra day to do that. Gonna be a relief to move onto the very single Eric after this though, let me tell you.

-->Did another bit of "The Technicolor Phase" -- Alice meeting the Van Dorts for coffee and swapping life stories. It was an interesting chapter to do, simply because a post-A:MR Alice with a post-CB married Victor and Victoria is such a different dynamic than what I usually do in my AUs. They all warmed up to each other pretty fast, though. :) And I'm looking forward to going down the line and finally getting to the full foursome ending bits. :)

-->Caught up on a bunch of my videos -- more 60 Parsecs! from Jay (struggling mightily to get an ending featuring a robot dog -- he succeeded after many, MANY hours of play); an old OXBox list about AI partners that are arguably better than your player character (helpful Elizabeth from Infinite made the list! I have to say, I do appreciate her throwing me ammo and health in firefights); more of the Bigwallets (Luna has finally set up her woodworking store) and an upside-down building challenge (which poor James found SUPER frustrating) from the Sim Supply; and another set of Vampyr from Helloween (Dr. Bitey has been inducted into the club of old classist and racist assholes, has found the apparent point of contagion for the cases of epidemic creeping into the West End, discovered some not-well people who really need help, and found that someone's friend died trying to become a vampire and not succeeding very well). Good times! I still have a new "Super Sim Challenge" vid to watch, but that'll have to wait until tomorrow. Something to look forward to, I guess.

-->Got my tumblr queues done -- always nice to be a bit ahead on those.

*pats back* Good Vicky. Now I just have to finish emptying out my inbox, and head to bed. Full week of work ahead. . .but it's followed by another three-day weekend, so I can't complain too loudly. :p Night all!
