Ow. . .

My back's twinging -- and I think I know why. Same reason I was developing a headache earlier -- another stressful day at work. We kind of got an answer as to what's going on with the old website -- not a particularly GOOD one, but an answer. But most of my day was spent bouncing between a bunch of tasks being laid on me by the back room folks as I scrambled to catch up with messages and maybe even just take a look at some gifts? I managed to call back pretty much everyone I needed to call back. . .from yesterday. The problem is, I'm trying to check on THREE phones, and when you're also helping verify proofs for a mailing and doing the GL (which balanced today, hoorah) and going to get the mail and calling people to set them up on the website and -- yeah. Fortunately, I should have only one more day of this nonsense -- one of my coworkers is set to come back next Monday, according to all reports. And I was able to catch up on those messages, and do something with matching gifts (after calling my other coworker who usually does them), and get the name of a guy I need to contact at one of the parishes. It's just -- a lot, you know. Handling that office is hard enough even when it's quiet. Now that things are starting to ramp up again after the holidays. . . I'm going to NEED that three-day weekend in a couple of weeks.

Anyway, got a few other things accomplished:

-->Started Chapter 12 of "Fixing You!" The beginning gave me a bit of trouble, until I had the idea of making it a full-on flashback, to spare me sticking in a bunch of weird-looking "hads." I'm having some weird feelings regarding whether or not I should split the chapter -- it's both the introduction to Silent Burtonsville and the first boss in the form of Ruined Barkis. I feel like Barkis and his lair should have their own chapter, but the introductory forest scene might not be meaty enough to stand on its own. . .we'll see how editing goes, I guess.

-->Subscriptions still quiet (Helloween must be Sickoween again; he mentioned in a short "Happy New Year" video he wasn't feeling all that great), so instead watched Deli do a CAS-based "breed out the weird" challenge -- taking a Sim with super-extreme features and breeding them with prettier Sims to see if you can average out the genetics into a nice-looking Sim. Deli elected to do all her breeding with Sims plucked from the Gallery in CAS (using the "mix genetics" feature), but you can also do it "naturally" in the game. She ended up getting a pretty nice-looking Sim -- though, as she did the challenge as a strict "matriarchy" (founder was a girl, all children rolled up were daughters), the whole line is cursed with saggy boobs. *looks at her own* Eh, they're not so bad if you've got a good bra.

-->Also watched an OXBox list of video game glitches elevated by the developers -- mostly stuff I've seen before, though there was a cute one from Dragon Age: Inquisition where a character's inability to sit properly on a chair was upgraded from "glitch" to "crush on a nearby NPC making them fidgety" via DLC. XD Well, that's one way to cover your ass.

-->And watched a video on Tim Burton which -- uh -- well, confirmed my theory that he really should have been a concept artist or set designer instead of a director. Here, watch it for yourselves -- these ladies sum it up better than I could. (Though, considering it's the last part of a longer series, here's the playlist if you want to start at the beginning. I need to catch up on it myself -- I only discovered it because the one focusing on Corpse Bride's potentially Jewish roots ended up on tumblr.)

-->Got my queues done on both tumblrs, yay. Now I just have to empty out the inbox, as per usual. And then bed. One more day tomorrow. . .how is it even short weeks can feel so long? Well, I'll just do the best I can with what I've got. . .Night all!
