Not the World's Best Monday
Feb. 4th, 2019 11:27 pmNot exactly the worst, either, mind -- the weather was decent enough that I managed a lunchtime walk, and there weren't too many demands on my time from outside forces. But I spent a lot of the day moving paper around to get it out of my way for GL archival purposes, and there were a lot of phone calls from people looking for tax stuff, and I'm still feeling behind on other things. . .and then I had one of my overlong shitty rides home thanks to heavy traffic, so that didn't do much for my mood either. *sigh* Well, at least I got to eat the last of the chocolate chip cookies today. Something to help balance out some of the cruddiness.
Evening has been spent mainly in these pursuits:
-->Working on Chapter 14 of "Fixing You" -- set up a brief confrontation with the Conglomeration that got Victor the Quill Bow -- though I ended up changing the design slightly so I didn't have to waste time with him figuring out how to string it (the original design has an ink string at all four levels of the weapon; I changed this to a twine string for the first level for the story. Maybe it only has an ink string when it's fully upgraded now?). He and Alice are moving onto their next "group battle" and having to figure out how to deal with the Loudmouth Shade (the Silent Burtonsville version of the Town Crier). These fights are getting some major edits done to them, let me tell you. At least now I have a bit more variety in how Victor attacks!
-->Watching the first episode of Season 2 of "Super Sim Challenge" -- aka episode 100! :D James has started working on the Get Famous aspirations, as they're the only ones that Max hasn't completed yet. This means Max is also officially an actor now -- James was going to wait to put him in the career (until he was more famous and thus had earned the perk of getting promoted super-easily), but it's necessary for one of the aspirations, so here we are. He also moved house, back to Windenburg -- though now he lives on the island, in a much more modest place than his original mansion, and is planning on growing his own flowers for the flower-arranging skill. Maybe not the world's most exciting episode -- at least, until the queue glitched out because Opie wanted pets SO BADLY. XD The Gurus claimed that that was FIXED, but clearly James's save game hasn't gotten the message. Ooops. :p But it's a good set-up for the adventures to come!
-->Also watching the next set of Doom (2016) from Helloween. This one was a bit on the sad side -- it involved having to destroy the Mars Base supercomputer, VEGA, in order to provide enough power to sent Doom Guy to the Well in Hell so he can drain its power and close the portal on Mars. Helloween wrecked a lot of demons while bemoaning the fact that he didn't want to kill the computer, VEGA was the nicest character in the game. And turns out Doom Guy didn't want to either -- right before he triggered the final self-destruct, he made sure to back up VEGA onto a futuristic USB and put it in his armor. It's a nice, humanizing touch -- especially given we're close to the end-game and shall be spending pretty much all of our time kicking high-powered demon ass from this point forward. *nods* Bring it on.
-->Getting my VictorLuvsAlice queue done -- mainly, the Wednesday Sims 4 update. Got three out of four parts completely done, and the fourth part has the pictures in the right order and some notes on what I want to do for the text. Not bad -- and completing that part tomorrow will help remind me to switch the queue to 4 so it all posts on Wednesday. That's kind of important when the whole point of Wednesdays is Sims updates. XD
And now it's time to empty the inbox and head to bed. Looking like another busy week -- hopefully it'll be the last one with just the two of us up front! Keep your fingers crossed. . .night!
