Ugh Day For The Most Part
Feb. 5th, 2019 11:14 pmMore phone calls (including a few people complaining about stuff I don't really have any control over), more e-mails asking me to do things for them, my backlog of shit to do continually piling up because I'm constantly being distracted by people asking me to do OTHER shit, my coworker having to leave early for a dentist appointment -- oh, and I got my period this evening, discovered right after I'd worked out. So that didn't do anything for my mood. *sigh*
All right, let's try and focus on some more positive stuff:
-->Weather turned out lovely today -- made it up into the 60s! I got another lunchtime walk, and actually had the car window open on my ride home! Too bad it's supposed to crash into more normal February weather tomorrow. . .at least I got to enjoy it while it lasted!
-->Ride home was basically the opposite of yesterday -- smooth sailing almost the entire way, with just some traffic on the main drag. I was -- pleasantly surprised. Now if only we could hurry up and get to the bit where the sun isn't in my eyes half the time going up AND coming back. . .
-->Got another appreciable chunk done on Chapter 14 of "Fixing You" -- moving Victor and Alice to the next fight, AND figured out how to get Victor another one of his weapons! Even got to do a pastiche of the posters for the A:MR weapons. Part of me wonders if Victor getting two weapons in such quick succession is too fast -- then I remember I'm not designing a video game, I'm writing a story that I don't want to drag out. And that I REALLY missed these weapons when I was writing later fight scenes. I think it'll be fine in the end.
-->Watched Helloween's latest Resident Evil 2 REmake set (we finished up the Sherry section, which involved her burning that asshole Irons with chemicals and NEARLY escaping before her dad caught up with him; then we switched back to Claire to finish raiding the police station before venturing out onto the streets to rescue Sherry -- only for that to go badly wrong after an elevator crash and the threat of her dad doing horrible things to her forced Sherry to flee. So now we have to track her down again, darn it.); the latest Atop The Fourth Wall (one of the "good comic" episodes, featuring an arc from the Tomb Raider comics where Lara and friends have to rescue a supposedly-deceased pal from bandits, and also figure out why their other friend is acting so weird. Very well done for the most part -- but then again, the writer is Rhianna Pratchett. Wouldn't expect anything less.); and another Call Me Kevin video on The Sims on the PS2 (Dick Pickens strikes again, electrocuting himself constantly on a broken TV, walling up his mother, and selling rugs to buy himself pizza XD). All good stuff.
-->Got my VictorLuvsAlice and ValiceMultiverse queues sorted, hooray for me. Not that either was particularly hard, but. . .
Okay, gotta clear out the inbox and hit the sheets. Hopefully tomorrow will be a little quieter and I can either get some gifts on or get some returns sorted. . . Just SOMETHING. And hopefully my period won't mess up my head too badly either. . . *sigh* Night all!
