April Foolin'
Apr. 1st, 2019 11:09 pmWasn't a very prank-laden April Fools Day today -- the worst I got was one of my coworkers pretending to consider retirement, and SimsVIP doing a fake announcement for a Sims 4 Get Schooled pack (they did a good write-up for it, I have to say XD). And also a "prank" I played on myself where I thought the GL was off a bunch of money, but it turned out I'd just flipped two digits in a number around. *facepalm* At least it wasn't anything major! And the rest of the day was reasonably quiet, so I can't complain.
Evening's been pretty busy, though:
-->Wrote some more on Chapter 18 -- doing a bit more compressing of stuff as I nudge time forward so I can get to the Land of the Dead portion and the final celebrations to wrap this thing up. Victor's had a sad moment, unfortunately, related to unpacking -- he just can't bring himself to help take the pictures down from their wall. Too many bad memories. Everyone is most sympathetic. *pats him* Don't worry, Victor. Better days are ahead. (Mostly because I'll be working on "Secundus 2" for a while instead and you'll be free of my influence on your life during that time. XD)
-->Watched The Sim Supply make over one of the StrangerVille houses -- a controversial build in that it is apparently almost identical to a base-game build (I believe the house in question is in Willow Creek). Cue one hour and eight minutes of James fiddling with the roof, trying to give the house a consistent style (and not succeeding very well), complaining that all furnishings in Sims 4 are hot garbage, and then getting excited over a couple new color swatches on a couch because they have a great new texture on them. XD To be fair, the renovation wasn't a fail -- I rather like what he did with the living room and kitchen. I think the tiny second bedroom might have been a mistake, though. XD But it was fun to watch, at least.
-->Watched Helloween's set from yesterday: Let's Replay Dead Space 2! I am excite :D The game starts off with Isaac in a straitjacket, proceeds to have his potential rescuer turned into a necromorph right on top of him, and then has Isaac HEADBUTT the guy and manage to to flee the necromorph invasion STILL IN HIS STRAITJACKET. It's actually a good ten minutes or so into the set before he's finally freed. And then we go straight into using cool telekinesis to spear monsters with sharp things, and medical tissue plasma cutters to slice off necromorph limbs, and it's just great. :D Made even better by Helloween's goofy commentary (he specifically said it was funniest for him if he makes Isaac Clarke a space asshole who destroys as much shit around him as possible) and PARTY BODIES! XD Not as bad as F.E.A.R.'s were, but there has been some interesting jiggling. Plus Helloween keeps dragging bodies and body parts around with him, taking them on adventures and lecturing them about health and safety aboard space stations. XD I am HERE for this LP, is what I'm saying.
-->Got the first half of my Newcrest Adventures update done in my queue -- which, given it's a rare two-parter, feels a touch lazy of me, but both of those videos were LONG, and running a bit late on things seems to have been a theme today. Better to have half done, in my opinion, especially since it keeps my queue running. And I know exactly what's going up on Thursday, so I can slap that up quick with the rest of it tomorrow and at least feel like I'm set for a couple of days.
And now it's time to empty out what's left in the inbox and hit the sheets. Hopefully the rest of the week will be decent. *fingers crossed* Night all!
