crossover_chick: Doc in goggles and holding a big old plug with the words "feeling sparky..." (BTTF: feeling sparky/creative)
Nice enough to open the damn windows today! The rain was well-over by the time I got up, and the clouds raced away as the day went on. . . I got a nice solid walk around 4 o'clock -- 5 times around the block! :D My parents and I were going to go take a walk somewhere together, but they got caught up in clearing out the gully behind our yard (people have been dumping shit into it for ages), so they decided to pass. Still felt good to get back into the groove of going round and round our neighborhood -- I really do prefer walking outside. It's just -- better than being stuck in the house all the time.

Other accomplishments of the day:

-->Washed my mattress pad (which means it took a while to fully make my bed -- at least this week wasn't a full dust-Swiffer-vacuum week!) and vacuumed my rug. Cleanliness!

-->Played a round of Sims 4 -- thanks to me losing patience with the game and looking up a list of Sims 4 diseases and their symptoms, Wheatley successfully diagnosed a patient at work! He could only get to the one today, though -- I started working on a second, but she only did the idle animations for one symptom (common to a couple of illnesses), and broke the X-Ray machine so I couldn't narrow it down further. Still, at least he's SOMEWHAT closer to a promotion. . . He also helped Chell get the spore infection data profile she needed after she collected all the clusters at the secret lab, so Chell was able to get the filter portion of the hazmat suit! She bought the rest of it off Erwin, so she's ready to probe the deepest reaches of the lab! Not a moment too soon, either, as I had Wheatley eat a bizarre fruit, so he's officially infected now. XD Look, I couldn't resist. And it DOES completely fill his needs when he's in Possessed mode, so it's not like it's all bad. :p

-->Watched a bunch of Sims-themed Call Me Kevin videos, starting with a trip through Urbz: Sims In The City -- which was very early 2000s and very focused on the Black-Eyed Peas and famous rappers. Also you could dumpster dive for scary clown masks and mug people, and your Create-A-Sim options were extremely limited, much to Kevin's disappointment. He wanted to make Jim Pickens over again and couldn't really, you see -- at least, not a good-looking version. XD

Next up was the next part of his regular Sims 4 series, picking up after Jim's death at the hands of the Mother Plant. Shrek managed to get the clearance to get downstairs and rescue Jim's urn -- and invite Jim back to the family! Kevin didn't realize that "Invite To Household" actually put the ghost into your household (he thought it just invited them back to the home lot), and he was utterly thrilled to discover he could have GHOST JIM as a playable Sim. Ghost Jim proceeded to pick up where he left off, and -- well, there was another failed attempt, but fourth time is the charm! The Mother Plant is dead, and Jim now can ruin the lives of the population of StrangerVille in peace. XD Starting with poor Jess from the trailers -- for the crime of not wanting him to prepare pet food in her kitchen, he stole her husband and daughter and attempted to kill the former via rocket. But it turns out the guy is REALLY GOOD at space, so now he's locked up in a little room to starve. XD Oh Kevin. . .

And finally we had another Sims spinoff: The Sims Bustin' Out, which starred Tim Pickens, Jim's furry cousin. As in, the man wears a cat suit 24-7. XD It was the standard "Sims with a storyline" spinoff for console -- the storyline being "get a job and get promoted while moving through a bunch of people's houses on your way to claim Malcolm Landgraab's mansion." To Tim's credit, he got out of his mom's place pretty quick -- though not without selling all her belongings. XD And then he proceeded to burn down the kitchen of his new roommate's place. Quite deliberately too. Also, this version of the game features strip poker, and you can play with relatives! . . .Yes, Tim played strip poker with his mom. Bustin' Out, everyone! XD

-->There was also more Sims 2 from The Sim Supply -- the family is just barely keeping afloat! Mostly because every time they get some money, James keeps rebuilding their house and spending it all. XD Admittedly, a couple of the remodels were necessary -- one brought the hot tub down from the roof and put it onto the second-floor balcony where it could be used; the other added a room for the newly-born baby! Just -- no furniture for the baby. XD Yeah, poor little Doona (Nina and Eggton's new daughter) spent the first hours of her life lying on the kitchen floor, being attended to by strangers as her parents tried to sell another car they'd fixed up. XD Fortunately, Cassandra Goth took pity on them and bought it, so now she has a proper crib. And her brother Brentnall got some stuff too! The day he's going to age into a teenager. XD Oh James. . . It's a fantastic trip down memory lane, though. I really would love it if the hypothetical Sims 5 was a mashup of Sims 2 and Sims 4. Best points of both, plz~

-->Writing wise, I edited up a snippet of a "Victor gets wings" idea I had for Magical Monday -- his first attempt at flying! It doesn't go great, but he's excited anyway. :D And I posted the latest "Scenes From Secundus" #24: Baby Food from the old 25 Foods list. Talk about a trip down memory lane. . . I haven't read some of these fics in ages. Nice to bring them back into the light of day and see what needs serious reworking and what doesn't.

And now, as usual, I'm doing the RP thing on tumblr while also trying to keep up with messages and the stuff in my e-mail inbox. One of these days I will have at least SLIGHTLY better time management. (How often have I said this now?) At any rate, time to go round and see what needs catching up on again. Night all!
