crossover_chick: Alice in Hysteria mode firing her Pepper Grinder (AMA: SO MUCH RAGE)
AKA I was completely correct about my period coming back overnight, and it's been a regular old bleedy day, meaning my hormones and thus my emotions have been on High Anger Alert. Not helped by another stressful day at the office as I navigated yet more problems. Got a few things actually done, admittedly, but it's hard to focus on the positives when literally everything frustrates you. Not to mention my drive home tonight. . .my Mom got her new car at LAST, so she and Dad dropped the old car off at work, and I put it in the right parking lot to drive home.

Turns out driving home involved having to cut through the city after encountering heavy traffic just trying to get NEAR the highway. On a day with a super high heat index AND scattered showers, meaning it was raining just often enough that I couldn't keep my windows open.

I have mentioned the car's AC is busted, right?

Yeah, I was a very hot, very unhappy mess by the time I reached the house. (Granted, I discovered near the end of the ride the AC is actually okay for bringing in a breeze -- it's just not properly cold or dry. I just was reluctant to try it because the past couple of times I have, it's come out HOT.) No workout tonight, as not only did I get home later than usual, but I also spent most of my first half-hour home trying to look up the weather so I could see if it was safe for me to take a shower or if we were about to get dunked on by a thunderstorm. (Fortunately it was the former.) Also no writing, as I was still so steamed about everything I just could NOT concentrate for the life of me. I mean, I'm never at my best during the first few days of my period creativity-wise, but this was a BAD mental block.

What finally calmed me down was going "fuck it" and retreating to Youtube. One look at CallMeKevin and his pal Max playing two-person Totally Reliable Delivery Service and I was laughing too hard to be angry. XD It's one of those games where physics is broken and everything's hard to control and that's what makes it wonderful. Especially when you have two characters who can basically stick to each other randomly trying to drive cars, throwing Sputnik in the ocean, and crashing many, MANY planes. XD It was wonderful. There was also:

-->Another episode of Kevin's Sims 4 series, still working with the drug mod -- Jim Pickens is stepping up into the limelight again, taking over the drug dealing and forming his own gang! And nearly breaking the game by trying to choose the Grim Reaper (not the one he's married to, the actual NPC) as his right-hand man. Fortunately Kevin hadn't saved for a bit so could do that bit over, and ended up picking my favorite StrangerVille NPC, Erwin, instead. So I was happy with that. :p The gang has a partially-submerged headquarters in Sulani, and are on the verge of a gang war with the Newcrest Thugs -- once Kevin actually MAKES said gang, that is. ;)

-->A RabbidLuigi video about rip-offs of other games -- apparently PONG was an rip-off of a "table tennis" game created for a slightly-earlier console than the Atari. Who knew? (Besides people who know the history of video games.) I have also decided to share his beef that Playstation All Stars Battle Royale wasn't nearly as good a game as any of the Smash Bros, simply because we could have had a really great game where Isaac Clarke from Dead Space could battle a BioShock Big Daddy, and apparently we don't. Meh.

-->The latest Atop The Fourth Wall -- a quickie at 15 minutes (Linkara fully admitted he was taking it easy with this episode after the retrospective and everything else that happened in June). But it was about one of my favorite series, US1, so that was just fine. You gotta love the continuing adventures of Ulysses Solomon Archer and his CB skull and possibly-sapient techno-big-rig. Especially since the stories themselves are rarely horrible -- there's some half-decent characterization mixed in among all the wacky action. Ain't perfect, but sometimes, you just gotta have goofy fun.

So yeah, all that made me feel better, as did catching up on my webcomics and not having to worry about a queue. (Though a reviewer did just alert me to the presence of some interesting typos in my "Fixing You" story. . .) Now I just gotta answer a final comment before heading to bed. Hoping my everything will calm down some tomorrow. . . Why can't it be the weekend already? Ah well, just keep plodding along. G'night all!
