crossover_chick: Doc in goggles and holding a big old plug with the words "feeling sparky..." (BTTF: feeling sparky/creative)
I mean, I had a few things to take care of, namely some files to look at for billings and such, but it was nowhere NEAR the stress-fest last Friday was. I approve. Hell, even got in a walk at lunch because I took it at 11:30, meaning it was before the worst of the heat and humidity hit! And I took my first turn at driving the new car home when Mom and I ended up stopping for ice cream on the way back (she and Dad had had a rough day turning in the plates for the old car -- which is gone, by the way -- junk guy took it -- and forgot to get any). Drives well enough, though I'm still getting used to how the new steering wheel and pedals feel. Might have to tweak the seat more too -- it actually goes up and down as well as forward and back, so there's a lot of room to maneuver there. We might take a quick swing up toward my work and back tomorrow just to help me get more used to it. Since this car has WORKING AC, the heat from hell wouldn't be too much of an issue. We'll see how it goes!

As it stands, my afternoon upon getting home was fairly productive:

-->Did like 99% of my cleaning -- dusted everything except the shelves located right above my bed and my fan, Swiffered, and vacuumed. Meaning tomorrow I just have to dust a few last toys, clean off the fan, and change my sheets. Hooray for clawing back a little more of my Saturday!

-->Watched two "Fun With Shorts" (Josh released a pair today) -- one about three animal children who constantly abuse the crocodile who gives them trips to and from school, and the shenanigans that result when he decides he's had enough and takes a day off, and one about the importance of making sure you have accurate and well-written quotations when trying to convince people to open a playground on Saturdays. Classic FwS goofiness, and Josh made a BTTF joke in the first one, so I'm happy. :P

-->Played Fallout 4 -- still doing the Curtain Call quest! Mostly because it took me some time to fight my way up Trinity Tower, what with all the Super Mutants in the way. I've gotten pretty decent at using a sniper rifle to take people out from afar when I can. And Righteous Authority is a better gun than I thought if I just blast people with it in a quick controlled burst. Helped a lot in battling my way past all those damn Super Mutants!

And then I got to the final "boss," Fist, and IT'S ANOTHER FUCKER WITH A MINIGUN. I swear, where do these people keep FINDING them?! I died SO MANY TIMES to that asshole, trying both to dodge bullets, fling grenades, and keep Preston alive. Finally I managed to kill him, found Rex and his friendly Super Mutant buddy Strong in their cage, agreed to let them out, had to go looking for the key because the lock was too complicated for me to pick, released them -- and promptly died when ANOTHER BUNCH OF SUPER MUTANTS SPAWNED IN.

And then my last quicksave put me RIGHT BACK IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FIST FIGHT! Meaning I died ANOTHER bunch of times to HIM! Grrrrr. . .finally got him down with a combination of careful sniping and a few shotgun blasts to the face. Made sure Preston was all right (I had to stimpack him a few times in earlier versions of the fight where I died), and now I'm saved and preparing to enter the Rex conversation again. I genuinely want this to go well -- Strong's actually a companion you can pick up from this -- but DAMN. I need to upgrade my guns again. And my armor. Actually, I just need to upgrade ME -- I think I may have taken on the place at a bit of a low level. (I'm only Level 12 at the moment.) Well, hopefully next Friday getting back DOWN the tower will be less horrible. . .if only because I'll have one Super Mutant fighting on my side.

-->Edited the next chapter of "A Wedding, A Wedding, We're Going To Have A Wedding" -- Victor and Alice deciding on their wedding feast with June. Figured I could show them planning the menu -- in particular, the cake I mentioned. It's just some silly fun with Victor and Alice once again briefly trying to put each other first, to the other's frustration. :p

-->Watched another "Carl's Sims 4 Guides" video, this one about how CAS Stories works (showing how questions can assign "scores" to certain traits, aspirations, skills, and starting funds -- but this doesn't always guarantee you'll get the things you expect to get from the questions. . .). Still think this is a decent feature, but that we should have the option to assign the bonuses it gives in regular CAS too. Meeeh.

-->Also watched two Call Me Kevin videos. The first was of him playing Minecraft: Story Mode -- which is actually a Minecraft-themed Telltale point and click adventure game, complete with relationship values for characters and dialogue choices. It's -- well, I can't really venture much of an opinion, not being a Minecraft player. But it didn't look like the best thing in the world. :p Kevin had fun being a dick to people and refusing to participate properly in the button-mashing prompts, though. :p

The other one was actually a "greatest hits" compilation of some of his evilest moments in gaming, done as a celebration of him finally hitting 2 Million Subscribers! :D It was a lot of fun and I'm genuinely happy he's gotten so popular. He's a funny guy and his videos have helped cheer me up on some bad days (see just earlier this week). You go, Kevin -- you go. :)

-->And I just finished up my Valice Multiverse queue stuff, so I'm all set there. Time to answer some last comments and then do the Friday Night Writing Thing. Only real plans tomorrow are the possible car ride, playing some Bloodlines, and doing some OXBox marathoning (as I have a bunch of their videos in my Watch Later). I mean, it's a "hide in the air conditioning" kind of weekend, and Mom has to work anyway, soooo no need for big plans. I got my itch to get out and about scratched last Sunday anyway. Night all!
