crossover_chick: Victor leaning over to look at a blue butterfly in a glass jar (CB: i has a happy thing)
Yup, we turned off the AC and opened the windows this morning -- cool and dry! :D Very nice to get some fresh air in. Of course, it ended up heating up quite a bit as the day went on -- I took a walk around 11:30 at work, and it had already gotten good and summery. Though without the humidity, the heat was a LOT easier to take, let me tell you. Still, my parents turned the AC back on before I got home, and I've left it on for the day -- I wouldn't MIND opening my windows again, but I know from bitter experience just how HOT my room can get if you leave it. Maybe tomorrow I'll have more of a chance.

Anyway, pretty decent day overall -- work was very quiet, which we all appreciated. I did the GL, finished up what I could of the returns, and then spent the rest of the day doing merges. Nothing too taxing. I also indulged in an Italian Ice with lunch -- one of my coworkers bought a couple of packages for the office. I was expecting something similar in texture to a Del's Lemonade or a Dunkin Donuts Frozen Hot Chocolate, but it was actually pretty smooth and creamy! I rather liked it -- I might go for another one if we have another hot day at work. :) Makes a change from the popsicles, anyway.

Came home in very good time -- traffic was pretty good, hooray -- and, after checking in with the parents, started my room clean. Swiffered my floors, vacuumed my rug, and did as much dusting as I could reach without undue stretching -- anything that really requires me to stand on my bed can wait until tomorrow, when I change my sheets. Having the chance to do this early frees up a nice chunk of my summer Saturdays, and I need all the time I can get, given the Watch Later queue is pretty full. And has some four-hour-long videos in it. (Tumblr friend recommended some Critical Role RP videos to me -- Call of Cthulhu and Vampire the Masquerade. Gonna see how much of the former I can watch this weekend -- VtM is gonna have to wait until I have some more free time because it's TWO four hour videos.) But pretty much everything is clean, or cleaner than it was, so that is good.

After that was Fallout 4 time -- I'd hoped to make it a bit closer to where Preston and his compatriots are waiting for me, but I stumbled across a new location with a bunch of raiders in it, and ended up heading inside to clear it out. Finally made some good use of my grenades by throwing them in a hole and blowing up some fools. Got some Legendary Raider gear too -- a chest piece that auto-heals you with a Stimpack if you get below about 25% health! :D Gonna have to bolster that up with some crafting and stick it on -- would mean less time popping open the Pip-Boy and chowing down in the middle of fights! Though I suspect I'd lose a lot of Stimpacks that way. . .on the other hand, I find a fair amount, too, so it's certainly worth trying! But yeah, mostly a day about shooting people. Victor and I are starting to get a handle on the sniper rifle, at least. Even pulling off the occasional sneak attack! One day I will be good at this game. XD I've also cleaned up my progress notes a little bit -- added rough dates/date ranges for the quests I've completed and the ones I have active. Hey, if this playthrough ever becomes the basis of an AU, I want to be prepared! And not have to do the game over again to figure out a timeline. (See: Alice Bloodlines playthrough. Not that I MIND particularly playing that game over again. . .) At least Fallout 4 has a day-night cycle and will tell you the date if you consult your Pip-Boy. Makes life a little easier.

After that was a walk -- outside! Yeah, we may have had the AC on, but it was definitely nice enough to venture into the sunshine for my exercise (again). Besides, I had something to try out -- a new water bottle! Dad picked it up for me while he and Mom were out and about -- it's a simple pop-top that comes with its own carrying sleeve you can strap around your hand. Even has a tiny pocket for keys and change! I used it during my run -- has good water capacity, easy to drink from, and the hand strap worked great. Very useful little thing -- I look forward to future walks with it. :)

And then it was back inside for shower, dinner, and then writing! As it is Friday, I did more "A Wedding, A Wedding" stuff -- specifically, I did the first draft of the final chapter, where Victor and Alice head to Wonderland, only to discover the inhabitants of both their minds have banded together to throw them another reception. It's very cute, at least in my opinion. Though it does mean that I pretty much HAVE to do the "Victor's Otherland" story, because this chapter features characters that live in his domains, and -- well, I really SHOULD do a piece to properly establish them. I rather like the name I came up with for Victor's "inner child" who lives in the Butterfly Jungle, though -- Mr. Explorer. XD Come on, it's adorable.

And then after that was video time -- managed four!

-->A "Fun With Shorts" featuring a Mel-O-Toon about David and Goliath -- as usual, everything was potato quality, but the riffs were on point. I especially liked one early one, "Ancient Biblelonia." XD

-->A video about a new minigame in Yandere Simulator, where Ayano can now work in a maid cafe! The minigame is a cute pixel-art 2D thing where you take the orders of customers, relay them to the chef, and then take the completed meals to the right person, all while trying to keep up with all the people you have and not make them wait too long. People who have their "wait" bar run out or get the wrong meal will storm out in a huff -- five of those and it's game over, and Yan-Chan doesn't get any money. Manage to complete your shift, however, and Yan-Chan will get a base salary, plus tips from however many customers she served. This means you now have money to spend, either on online shopping, or at the school buying drinks and snacks. Interesting stuff, but honestly all prelude to. . .

-->Watching Jay from the Kubz Scouts take on the minigame! While sleep-deprived no less -- dude only got three hours before playing the new build. And then tried to plunge straight into hard mode. XD That -- ended like you might have expected, so he went back to Easy mode and worked his way back up. Game looks simple and cutesy, but it's surprisingly easy to lose track of who ordered what, and for customers to get sick of waiting. Jay eventually managed to conquer every difficulty level, though, and rewarded YanChan with a mountain of soda. XD

-->Jay also had a new 60 Seconds Reatomized! video out -- hunting for more parts for the Mad Max ice cream van! And Mutant Mary Jane. The latter didn't happen (looking up something else on the wiki, I discovered that the chances of her becoming a mutant were lowered in a balancing update -- poor Jay), but we picked up some sweet stuff for the former -- the family actually attached an old cannon to the top, and decked it out in American flags. You can see the progress on the title screen, and it looks ridiculous in the best way. XD I'm really looking forward to seeing the ending that results from completing this car. It's gonna be great, I'm sure. :D

And now I'm getting my Valice Multiverse queue sorted for the evening, and preparing for whatever may come this Friday evening. Tomorrow's goals: do that last bit of dusting and change my sheets; get another chunk done on Bloodlines; watch at least an hour of the Critical Role CoC video; see if I can also fit in all my OXBox videos, or at LEAST the Hitman 2 3 Ways To Play. (Final level, and it's another two-parter! :D) Fingers crossed, guys! Night all!
