How Goes The Sunday To-Do List?
Aug. 4th, 2019 11:22 pm-->Finish Critical Role's CoC campaign: Done and dusted! Though I was slightly annoyed to discovered I'd stopped just short of an official break in the action the other day. . . At any rate, we finally got the bulk of the spooky stuff in the last couple of hours, with people failing sanity checks and getting clawed up and dragged to a strange mirror dimension by shadow creatures and unleashing evil cat demons. Also the gang broke early on one of the things that could have helped them. The adventure ended pretty well, though, for a CoC campaign: only one of the characters officially died! Two were pulled into the strange mirror dimension, and the other three managed to get out alive and relatively sane! (Helped by one of the players managing to get a critical success to help their NPC backer seal away the monsters. The Keeper was like "aww, I was looking forward to murdering the rest of you. . .") And the monsters were sealed by their backer -- not permanently, but they're contained for now. So yeah, high fives all around for the Critical Role team!
-->Write on "Secundus 2": Also done and dusted -- Richard's suffered defeat at Starkey's hands, and everyone's moved over to the buffet, where Marty's demonstrated his pie-tin-throwing skills. Picking up tomorrow with the return of Gordon Tannen, who's trying to stab Victor with a bottle while Buford gets up to his shenanigans on the dance floor in the background.
-->Play some Sims: Completed in very good time -- I sent Eric out to the flea market, where he collected some posters, bought a MySims trophy (Buddy the cop), befriended the seller, and shot some hoops. Pretty quiet day overall -- might even be a two-parter on the queue! O.o I did set up something more involved for the next play session -- a dinner party after a work day. Now THAT'LL keep him on his toes!
-->Watch the Sims videos I have in the Watch Later and whatever The Sim Supply has up: -- Didn't QUITE make this one -- I watched the one thing James posted, the next episode of his Sims 2 LP (he deliberately had Nina get friendly with the burglar who robbed them, then built a pool and drowned the guy, all because the kids wanted to see his ghost; the rest of the episode was largely Eggton calling people constantly to make friends for his next job promotion), but I never got to the videos waiting in the Watch Later queue. But that was because. . .
-->And, if possible, OXBox Hitman 2 goodness: Yeah, I decided I wanted to watch the next "3 Ways To Play" instead. And trust me, SO WORTH -- poor Andy ran into technical troubles TWICE while trying to eliminate the second target (poor boy ended up so frustrated); Jane dumped a body out a window, thinking it was the sea -- nope, and the body was found immediately (oh Jane); and Mike -- well. Mike, upon discovering there was a suit of armor and a broadsword in the game, decided he had to go full Dark Souls and killed one of the targets with the sword by running in full ham and then booking it out of there. XD And then he FAILED to properly complete the story mission where he got to burn one target alive, knocked her out with a torch, dragged her into the effigy to burn her anyway, and ended up exploding her with a duck. And then, to complete the level, went back and got his armor again and ran out in a hail of bullets, just avoiding death. XD It was delightful and perfect and I love them soooo much.
So yeah, a very full Sunday! Where it never rained, and the humidity apparently never cleared out. . .ah well, hopefully tomorrow will be better. Now that the swelling on my head's gone down, I'm feeling ready to try some walking again. (Still can't believe I did that. . .and still super-thankful it wasn't anything more serious! Yeesh. . .) One full week of work to go (relatively; still have the Friday half-day) -- let's do this thing. Night all!
